WELCOME TO FCYT 2024 SUMMER CAMP PRODUCTION OF ALADDIN JR.
ALADDIN JR. SYNOPSIS Disney’s Aladdin JR. is based on the 1992 Academy-Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within. Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes.
Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. The beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for young performers!
Auditions are May 25, 2024 location: FCT
We ask that you be ready when you arrive and to know what you are auditioning for.
Those who wish to audition for the following roles will start at 12:00 PM
Please review the casting breakdown for vocal range and requirements before auditioning for these parts.
Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, Sultan, Razoul, Iago
Those wishing to audition for the following will start at 1:00 PM

Genie, Sultan, Narrators, Guards, Ensemble and any other parts.
Call backs at 2:00 if needed
Auditions will go till approx.. 3:00 PM
Parents are encouraged to download and fill out the paperwork to bring with your camper.
THE CAMP:
All Cast - Readthrough and Costume fitting is July 17, 9:00 am - 12:00
July 19, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm for Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, Sultan, Razoul, Iago
All Camp starts July 22 - August 4 9:00 - 2:00 campers will pack and bring a lunch.
Show dates August 2, 3, 4, 2024
The cost of camp is $50.00 per camper. This is to offset the price of shirts and supplies.
To help keep price down we may request parents to provide and help with costumes.
Parents who can sew, or crafty and willing to lend a hand please let us know who you are we can always use your help.
IMPORTANT: All campers will be required to know all the music and their lines before camp starts mandatory.
Audition Requirements:
Reading:
Audition Scene 1: Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim
Audition Scene 2: Aladdin, Jasmine
Audition Scene 3: Genie, Aladdin
Audition Scene 4: Jafar, Iago, Spooky Voice, Narrators
Ensemble will not be required to read only sing.
Singing:
We will stick to 16 bars of music. You will not sing the whole song due to time. Our music director may need to hear your vocal range.
Make sure the role you are auditions for fits your range.
All campers, are encouraged to sing excerpts from one of the songs from Aladdin that are linked below:
"Friend Like Me," "Arabian Nights," "Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Kassim," or "A Whole New World."
We are looking for the ability to sing in tune, on tempo, and to act while singing. If the song seems to suggest movements of some kind, campers are encouraged to do some of their own movements on stage.
Remember, this is a musical, so we want to see kids who can "sell" the song.
We need you to project and sing with confidence.
Girls can sing any of the songs. Boys are encouraged to do any except for "A Whole New World" (the part that is excerpted for auditions is Jasmine's part so is likely not in range for most boys).
Aladdin hopefuls should consider "Arabian Nights"
We will have the music at the audition.
