Jax is a 30+ year old fireman who is a loner. At age 15, his parents abandoned him and he went to live with his Grandfather who he adored. However, after his Grandpa died in a fire at home, he moved around never staying in one place and not forming any attachments - until that is he meets Kelley the heroine and they have a ONS but Kelley leaves the next morning and they don't see each other until 4 months later when Jax moves to her home town.
From the moment they reunite, they are inseparable and within days, in love and planning forever.
And that is the only negative for me because there was no angst and no building the relationship which I would have liked to see because they were likable characters that one can route for.
The only "angst" in this story is that her family treats her like a baby and are overprotective but once she & Jax are an item, she puts a stop to it immediately and Jax loses all his insecurities/issues of abandonment immediately once Kelley comes into his life.
Safety: NO OW drama. At the beginning of the story, Kelley goes on a blind date of sorts but she is not into him at all and the guy shows up a time or two to try again but she is not having it. No cheating & no sex scenes with others. Neither a virgin. Kelley had 2 previous lovers & Jax's is not delved into.

When Kelly spent a night with a sexy stranger she never expected to see him again and she certainly never expected him to be the fireman who rescued her from a building burning. Jax is a man with no family ties and no roots who has recently moved to Angel Falls and is working for the fire department.
Now that they are back in each other’s lives the chemistry and connection between them is stronger but only they can decide if the feelings between them are strong enough to overcome his past and her family.
This is a sweet and sexy story about love and family between two people who find a home in each other.

This is my first read by Jody and as soon as I finished, I knew I was going to download the rest of the series. It has so many things that are big wins for me.
1. small towns
2. overlapping characters
3. fun supporting characters.
4. Libraries.
I loved that the story felt real and the tension between Jax and Kelly was great. It felt real and not overly sweet like some closed door romances can be. Thank you, Jody, for sending it! You have a fan now!

Jody Holford has become one of my favorite authors in the past few weeks. I don’t know what it is about her writing, but I love it, the story, the plot, the characters, the setting, everything. Jax and Kelly doesn’t just have chemistry but they have a special bond and love for each other. 4.5 stars.

Kelly Andrews is the baby in her family, and it drives her crazy how overprotective they are of her. She has a one night stand with a man that she knew she wouldn't see again, but that night was a memory who took her away from the ho-hum of her everyday life. Jax is a firefighter who has decided being alone is the best option for him as he has some past baggage which takes center stage a lot. He's the guy Kelly had that hot one night stand with, but fate decides on something more as Jax ends up moving to her small town, and actually rescues Kelly from a fire. It started them on a sweet journey with not too many bumps in the road which was a delightful turn in my opinion. Falling For Love was a story that involved my heart in a girl way (normally I keep that locked up tight) so just hit those one click buttons to experience it for yourselves! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Another fab, sweet read by Jody Holford. I loved Kelly, the youngest of a close family, who sometimes is treated like young girl, rather than a woman who wants to step out of the box her family has put her in. Having a one night stand was totally out of character, something she never wants to do again. However she can’t stop thinking about him, so she’s shocked when he turns up in her hometown as the newest fireman, the outsider that everyone is curious about. Jax is just lovely, sure he has some baggage but I really felt he was ready to stop moving around. Brilliant characters and great to catch up with previous characters although I wanted to give Cam a slap lol. A fab novella

Perfect sexy, short romance that will leave you smiling. Jax and Kelly never expected to see each other again so when Jax is pulling Kelly out of a fire in Angel’s Lake, they are both surprised. Kelly wants to find love on her terms, not everyone else’s idea of that. Jax has been drifting, seeing this as the best way to protect himself from being hurt. He is shocked that Kelly hasn’t left his thoughts after their one night so he wants to see if something ‘more’ is possible with her. I was captivated by this small-town romance and the cast of characters that ‘influence’ Kelly and Jax’s journey. I enjoyed this book using Kindle Unlimited.

A sweet, quick read from Jody Holford.
I really enjoyed this novella about Jax and Kelly and returning to Angel Lake. Though they only planned on one night together, the connection between them is strong when they see each other again.
Though the story moves quickly, nothing felt rushed. There are also appearances from other characters in the series which is always fun.

I’m not normally a short story kinda gal, there just doesn’t seem to be enough time to develop the characters and the story always seems rushed. Then comes along Jody Holford with Jax and Kelly’s sweet romantic story, and poof, there goes my theory on short novellas! I loved these characters, the setting, and the way these two met. Adore the stories that include the rough tough guy whose had a sad upbringing, just makes your heart melt when things turn around. I haven’t read the first four books in this series, but sure plan to. Look forward to the next installment in this series.

Book five in the Angel Lake series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Jax Sorento takes a job with the Angel’s Lake Fire Department, but he can not stay in one place he is always moving. He meets Kelly Andrews when he rescues her from a restaurant fire and she just might be a reason to stay in one place. I enjoyed seeing this story come together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Jax and Kelly were a cute couple who never meant for their one stand to turn into more, but when they realize that they are living in the same town, they realize they have a second chance to be with the one that they can't forget. I liked the fact that even though they are gun shy on relationships, they are adult enough to admit it and still try to see what can be between them. I loved how Kelly finally stood up to her family and helped them realize that she doesn't need the the overprotective attitudes all the time. I also liked Jax's honesty about his past and how he went about fixing his mistakes. I wish the book would have been longer so we could have seen more of this couple getting to know each other and falling in love. I recommend this novella and need to catch up on the rest of the series.

It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.
