Presley McDaniel lives her life from moment to moment.

Making permanent decisions means obligation, and that would force her to stop being the family disappointment. Waitress, fitness instructor, dog walker … you name the hourly job and she’s probably held the position.

But when her grandmother can no longer run her book shop in Fawn Hill, a town so small it barely has its own zip code, Presley steps up to help.

The move from bustling city to green pastures may be exactly what she needs to sort out her life. But she didn’t ask for that happy ending to include a gorgeous veterinarian with an all-American smile and a penchant for snuggling puppies. The good doctor is reliable, responsible, and just the kind of man Presley has always avoided.

Love and commitment are predictable.
So why, the moment she lays eyes on him, are they all she wants?

Keaton Nash has never questioned his steady path.

His brothers may tease him about settling into his father’s passed-down role of small town veterinarian, but Keaton has never minded his rural roots. And after tragedy struck two years ago, he has a duty as the eldest Nash man to look after his family.

What he doesn’t need is the sexy, flighty stranger who shows up in town and gets his broken heart beating again. Presley McDaniel is a distraction, a red-headed temptation that is the definition of a bad idea.

He’s barely recovered from the love who left him to chase bigger dreams, and this woman is bound to do the same.

Except for the first time ever, he wants to abandon stability.
She makes him want to be reckless.

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

How old are you, anyway? And what’s your middle name? I should at least know the basics before I go on a date with you. You could be a serial killer.

I am jumpy, anxious, my palms are sweating … it is as if I’ve been arrested for a crime I didn’t commit and am about to confess just to make it stop.

… the two have the chemistry of a box of fireworks. Illegal ones.

My Review:

This was an excellent start for a new series. Fleeting was a fun and lively read that was loaded with zings of clever humor, irreverent wit, sizzling steam, and endearingly flawed and appealing characters. Written in my favorite dual POV, the writing was briskly paced, easy to follow, engaging, and pleasantly entertaining. While it wasn’t all rainbow sprinkles and unicorn farts, the heart-squeezing moments were not overly angsty or unrealistically melodramatic. Presley was a bit of a hot mess but I totally adored the earnest white knight Keaton. I would have a standing appointment if my vet were as thoughtful and sexy as Dr. Nash. However, his family dynamics were uniquely vexing with each member having intriguing issues and distinct personalities. I look forward to getting to know each of them better in subsequent installments.

Amazing hero! I would marry him. Or even better, I’d like to have a son like him.
The heroine was ok. It didn’t bother me, that she pushed him away, her only dull moment was a shallow joke about Frank Sinatra.
No cliché drama. Safe. HEA.

Note to my self: do NOT read the 2nd book about Bowen and Lily. 2nd chance with him saving her from himself (the most bizarre and pathetic reason ever – is he an alien or a serial killer?!), ignoring her, BUT not the OWs… and her still loving him, which is translated into being celibate for 10 years?

Carrie Aarons, the queen of sweet, has done it again with Presley McDaniel and Keaton Nash. Presley is the girl that doesn't know how to do one thing for long, fleeting is the word that describes her. It's also the word that describes what she thinks of relationships, at least until a man sweeps her right off her runaway feet. She doesn't expect the small town to feel more like home than the big city ever did and she certainly doesn't think the sweet, charming vet should be her perfect match. But small town charm comes with small town intervention and soon Presley finds herself on a date with Keaton, a man who doesn't do temptation or spontaneity. The chemistry is there, but one of them will have to put down roots or be willing to give up stability.

"Life before her was muted, and with her in my arms, I saw nothing but fireworks."

Here today gone tomorrow, that's Presley's motto, but the opportunity to help her grandmother out is also her chance to show her family she can stay put. She's absolutely a big city girl in a small town book, her discomfort is more than written on the pages, it's a physical feeling you get while reading. She's immature with relationships, both romantic and familial, and she's got a stack of old issues. Keaton, however, is as patient and committed as they come. Sure, he's not interested in the hard work of a relationship and the pain of heartbreak, but when he gives into Presley he gives in and, in my opinion, is pretty incredible to her all things considered. Their chemistry is off the charts, but the setting isn't made for therapy sessions and working through it all. It's made for sweet dates, arguments, and a crash course in love. Of course, small town romance wouldn't be so charming if it didn't have meddling from family and townsfolk.

The Nash Brothers series not only gives us sweet Keaton, but also his brothers who certainly don't have an adjective nearly as nice as sweet before their names. Presley may have been the wild child in Fleeting, but the series promises more angst, more drama, and certainly more loving. Fleeting was a fun, escape read for me that I think fans of nice-guy romance will really enjoy.

I think the bones of the series are definitely there for me and I will continue; I just personally didn't connect with Presley and Keaton.

Unlike most romances, this started off with Presley rejecting Keaton at first and telling him she wasn't interested. I thought it was sweet how respectful and kind of awkward Keaton was. Keaton has had to become the father figure to his younger brothers since his father's passing and he thinks it's his responsibility to take care of everyone. He was such a great guy and I sympathized with his struggles, especially regarding what he went through with his younger brother, Fletcher.

Presley is a bit flighty, has commitment issues, and goes on a journey of self-discovery throughout the book. I thought the pacing of them becoming a couple was way off. It basically went from "nah, not really interested" to "eh, sure why not" to "omg you're my person, where have you been my whole life" in the blink of an eye. It was way, way too fast. I found myself unable to connect with the characters or particularly care about their HEA, but the story had great writing and I see promise in the rest of the series. I'm particularly intrigued to read Bowen's book (all the angst) and, of course, Fletcher's. His struggles broke my heart and I want to see him happy.

Carrie is one my go-to authors for sweet, wholesome romances and she never lets me down.

Fleeting is the perfect start to her newest series and I love every bit of it.

The blurb gives you all that you need to know, so there is no point in me re-hashing that. And I won't give you any new details either.

Carrie sets the tone and plot perfectly for this series with this book. We meet each of the brothers and get a little bit of background on each of them to know what we can expect in coming books, but it doesn't pull away from Keaton and Presley's story.

I love the small town vibe she sets up and all the nuances that go on in small towns. Along with the brothers, the secondary characters add the perfect touch to this series and I cannot wait to read more about them all.

Carrie nailed this book perfectly and set off the rest of the series the right way!!

Gah such a sweet small town romance. A great introduction to this town and this family. I immediately fell in love with all the Nash Brothers. And wanted to know all the things about each and everyone of them.

Keaton is an adorable vet in this town and when he meets Peyton he puts his past hurts aside and asks her out. Now, Peyton just moved into town to help her grandmother with her business but she's a flighty person afraid to put down roots and fall in love. She makes Keaton work for it and it was fun and sweet and had really funny moments righ off the bat.

If you're looking for a lighthearted romance with a little emotion and four hot brothers that will have you heart melting, you should really give this one a read.

3 – 3.5 sweet and sexy Stars.

Presley McDaniels is the middle child, the one that blends into the background and because of that she has been living her life from moment to moment but she realises that it is slowly becoming unsatisfying. To give herself a break from New York and to re-orientate she goes to Fawn Hill to help her Gran out with her book and postal shop as her health is slowly declining.

Presley as a character is nice there is nothing that wowed me about her unfortunately and to be honest I didn’t quite get her issues. I felt for her at times but at others I was internally shouting as she is a grown ass woman. So act it! She is unsure about herself so it was also a journey for her to find who she wants to be.

Keaton Nash, golden boy of Fawn Hill, the town vet, the good guy, who is there for the whole community and his family who really is dull as ditch water. He lives on the straight and narrow and has always known what he has wanted to do with his life. Puke, really dude?

There is chemistry between these two although with the push and pull its presence felt more in the background and that is a shame. But I did enjoy the banter between these two but I just felt as if there was something lacking about these two.

The pace is solid and the plot is sweet and fun. This book had a lot of potential the author has created a cute and quirky town and built up a great cast here and I can’t wait to read about the brothers especially Bowen whose book is up next.

All in all a good start to a new small town romance.

5 Sweet & swoon-worthy stars!

Fleeting is such a sweet and sexy small town romance. Keaton and Preston’s romantic journey was an absolute delight to read!

Preston is a bit of a free spirit, always living her life from one moment to the next, but never quite finding the happiness she desires. Needing a change, she leaves the big city and heads to the small country town of Fawn Hill, Pennsylvania. Once there, she helps her ailing grandmother with her bookstore/post office while also teaching a regular yoga class.

Keaton is good looking, kindhearted and an all around great guy. Growing up, he aspired to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a vet. He worked side by side with him until two years ago when his beloved father unexpectedly passed away. Now he runs the practice and also watches out for his mother and three younger brothers. His life is pretty simple and routine, but hes content with that. He doesn’t even realize the one thing that he’s missing until she walks into his office with a cute bulldog in tow.

Fleeting is a wonderful start to the new Nash brothers series! With her captivating writing style, the author created characters with beautiful souls and amazing chemistry. I loved each and every swoon-worthy, heart fluttering and heartbreaking moment. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment to see what becomes of Bowen and Lily. Well done Carrie Aarons! ♥

English:
"Fleeting" by Carrie Aarons is the first book in the "Nash Brothers" series. This romance was very perfect, sweet, and with a male character that makes you fall in love with him.

Presley McDaniel is a city girl who has moved to Fawn Hill to help and care for her grandmother. But at an inopportune moment with her grandmother's dog and her lingerie, she meets Keaton Nash, the sexy town vet. Keaton has long since given up on love, and keeping an eye on his family is the only thing that matters to him until she appears.

I felt so identified with Presley at so many times, I couldn't believe it. She's a strong protagonist inside and out, who struggles to deal with her problems. But she will also have her grandmother to put her feet on the ground, and it is appreciated. Keaton has been an incredible character. He has made me speechless. He is sweet and sexy, helps his family, and is so perfect. It also makes you want to know about the other siblings, so you have to keep reading the successive books.

I love small town romances and this one made me fall in love with them even more. Keaton did it for me. He’s the reason I fell so hard for this book. He’s such a beautiful character. I love his simplicity and his ways of knowing what he wants. And who doesn’t love a hot veterinarian?? 😍

Presley was such a complex character. It was hard for me to understand her ways because to me she just seemed bratty, but she does redeem herself. I liked her more when she was hanging out with the rest of the girls and towards the end of the book. She had great character development. It’s amazing seeing her bring out a side of Keaton that no one else can and vice versa.

The Nash brothers make me swoon. The way they all are, but I can’t wait to read the rest of the brothers books.

This was a cute small town romance, and I do think Nash and Presley had chemistry, and I loved the cast of characters as a whole, the story was just kinda underdeveloped. I feel like we really only scratched the surface of who Nash and Presley are - we get a good idea of Pres' hopes, and we touch on her fears, but we know nothing about her family besides her grandmother, and we get to know Nash's personality well, but only brief mentions of his background. I hope with future books in the series, we get to explore the characters even more.

5 stars for the sweet small town romance!

Fleeting follows the story of Keaton Nash, the town’s veterinarian and Presley who has moved from the city to help her grandma due to ill health.

There were some hilarious moments with Chance that dog, sweet romantic moments and some mystery concerning all 4 Nash brothers. Also Grandma was hysterical, she reminded me a lot of my Nan.

I loved that Nash was sometimes shy and stumbling over his words when he was around Presley and I love that Presley was a free spirit not letting herself get tied down to things she didn’t desire.

The other Nash brothers intrigue me as they clearly have a lot of issues and I know that their stories are doing to be interesting. I kinda want them now so I can chose which brother I like the best!

Presley and Keaton are so different that you wonder can they ever get their happy ever after?

Read Fleeting and see if they can overcome their differences and their pasts to get their true love.

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.

Presley has moved to the small town of Fawn Hill to help her grandmother run her bookstore/post office (like only a small would have!) and she’s trying to find her bearings. Small town life is much different than what she is used so it’s taken her a bit to get in the swing of things.

Small town life gets a bit more appealing when she meets Keaton Nash, the town vet. Their first meeting is quite hilarious and I immediately knew that I would like these two together. They are both attracted to each other and Keaton asks her out, but Presley is hesitant to accept. She doesn’t know if her stay in Fawn Hill is permanent and is scared to get attached to Keaton. But she eventually agrees and the two go on what they both consider to be their best date ever.

I looooooooooooved Keaton! The self assured, self appointed head of the Nash family became all tongue tied around Presley at first. But once he gets his feet under him he's even more adorable. He was so sweet and thoughtful, but also needed to learn to take some time for himself. Since his father died, he seems to take care of everyone but himself. Getting involved with Presley helps him realize that he can't be everything to everyone. On the flip side Presley always had a "rolling stone gathers no moss" attitude and it wasn't until she meets Keaton that she realizes that maybe it is time for her to settle down. In short, these two were VERY good for each other.

The author did a great job of introducing the rest of the Nash brothers. They each have their own personalities, their own problems and I look forward to reading their stories. The next book seems to be a second chance romance and I can’t wait to read it.

I just LOVED this book! The very first chapter had me laughing out loud and from there it was just a delightful story to read! By the end, I was left with a warm fuzzy feeling that made me feel so good! If you love small town romance trope is your jam, then this one is for you!

Omg these Nash brothers are gonna be trouble. Keaton was a first gentleman where I counts but omg was he hot!! You think quiet, reserved vet.....holy hotness! And Presley was a brilliant, independent heroine. They are complete opposites but perfect for each other!

I cannot wait to see more from this family. Bowden and Lily's story has me intrigued already!

Give me all the small-town romances that follow brothers. I love them. Despite this one being just ok for me, the glimpses of the other three Nash brothers was such a tease! I need more of these troubled men.

Keaton Nash is the veterinarian of Fawn Hill and the oldest of the Nash brothers. Feeling the burden of taking care of everyone around him, from the on-call emergencies to his own family, Keaton is not prepared for the whirlwind of Presley McDaniel in his predictable but complicated life.

Keaton had just the right touch of damaged hero that had me absolutely rooting for him. Completely enamoured by Presley, I appreciate that he had zero hesitation with letting his feelings be known. Presley, on the other hand, was a little more resistant ...

In Fawn Hill to help her grandmother with her book shop, Presley is charmed by the small town but reluctant to place roots in her life. She was flighty, and I get that, but I never could connect the dots to her past. Her backstory felt a little glossed over to me, making it hard to understand why she couldn’t just accept a happily-ever-after with Keaton.

A city girl moves to a small town to help her grandmother falls in love with the small town and the small town's Veterinarian.

Presley has the free spirit of a Gypsy and the complex issues of a middle child. Her life in New York never had roots and decides to move to rural Pennsylvania to help her grandmother. It doesn't take long for her to see how different life is in this small town.

Keaton Nash is the eldest of the Nash brothers and took over the Veterinary clinic after his father. His life is consumed with taking care of his brothers and widowed mom, as well as his community.

When Presley brings in her grandmother's dog for an emergency visit to the Vet, she had no idea the Vet would be handsome. Their shared attraction is obvious, but Keaton is hesitant to ask this gorgeous woman for a date. Presley is unsure about how long she will stay in town and is hesitant to accept Keaton's attention. The two finally accept they may be very different but that they compliment each other and begin dating. The pressure of being Keaton Nash and the people depending on him weighs on them both. Presley's urge to run returns when things get tough. Can the two find a way to make a life together with their differences?

A light, quick read of a small town perfect do good man and the woman bringing out a new side of him. These two Protagonists are so different yet work extremely well together. Such a sweet story of two people who deserve a sweet love story. The secondary characters are extremely interesting and have me running to book two. Great HEA and epilogue.

Can I just say that Carrie Aarons you know how to write an angsty romance that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. I laughed and I cried while I was reading this book because my heart went out to both main characters Keaton and Presley. The way she wrote this story had me feeling like I was right there in the clinic and the book store with them seeing them live out their lives.

When Keaton and Presley first meet their is chemistry there and they both fight it. But as time goes on and they see each other more they can't help but give in to the feelings and wow bam are they combustible together. I loved watching them fall slowly for each other and teaching each other things they never knew because Presley came from a fast pace life and Keaton came from a small town that loved and cherished everything and everyone.

This is a must read to a beginning of a great series to come because those Nash brothers are something else and they are a force to be reckoned with!

FLEETING by Carrie Aarons is book one in The Nash Brothers Series. This is the story of Keaton Nash and Presley McDaniel.
Presley is the middle child who has drifted from one job to another...never holding anything for long. Presley has never really found her niche in life, so when her Grandmother needs help with her bookstore due to her heath, she goes forward to help. Presley the total city girl, heads to the small town of Fawn Hill to help. What Presley doesn't expect is that she would like the small town life or that she would meet Keaton the town's veterinarian. Keaton is the all around small town son taking over for his father office. Keaton been down the road of giving his heart only to find the women is setting her sites on moving to the big city. So he knows that Presley will be flighty but how can he stop his growing feelings? Such a sweet page turner romance loved it and look forward to the other books.

description
Fleeting is a small town romance in which the responsible town vet, Keaton meets the flighty city girl, Presley and sparks fly. This book had a lot of the elements I like in a small town romance story. Everyone knows everything about everyone. There is inevitably that little old lady that gets away with saying or doing what she wants and is usually lovable and funny. And there are the fun town traditions that can help bring people together. This story had all that plus the meddling family thrown in. This book had a pretty steady pace and was an easy read. Both Keaton and Presley were flawed in their own way but helped build each other up. There was a lot of emotions going on and different things adding to the drama in the story line.

I'm pretty happy that our Keaton had three younger brothers because I think it will be nice to revisit this town when reading the other brothers books.

I received an Advance Reader Copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.

A small town, a book store, and a veterinarian with a meddling family? Sounds like a recipe for a good time to me and that's exactly what I had while reading Fleeting - a good time! Presley and Keaton (love those names) were the cutest couple and I LOVED the way they fought their attraction even though their coupling was inevitable. I'm so happy that this is the first in a series because I want more stories set in Fawn Hill and I definitely want more of the Nash Brothers! Carrie Aarons has proven that she can adeptly handle YA/NA, sports romance, heavier fare, and now this small town delight - she has earned her spot as a must read author for me! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

This is the first book in the Nash Brother Series. This is a small-town romance between Presley and Keaton. When Presley’s grandmother is having trouble running her bookshop, Presley comes to town to help her out.One day she has to take her grandmother’s dog, chance to the vet because he ate something of hers, she then meets Keaton Nash.
Keaton is a veterinarian who is reliable and responsible and not Presley’s type however, they hit it off from the start. This was such a cute romance. I liked how encouraging Keaton was to Presley and how he even showed up to one of her yoga sessions.
I liked how Presley was able to adapt to the small-town lifestyle and find her own happiness there. I loved the family dynamics and Presley’s friendship with Lily. Overall, I can't wait to read the other books in this series. If you are looking for a short sweet small-town romance, then I highly suggest checking this one out.

This was my first book by this author and I would like to read more from her. I enjoyed this one, even though at times it did feel a little jumpy. I liked our main characters and the family surrounding them in this small town. (Love a good small town vibe). There were some serious issues mentioned although they don't completely overwhelm things. I definitely want to read about the other brothers, so I look forward to reading more from this series in the future.

Carrie has a way with words that is like the ebb and flow of the ocean. Her words are flawless and perfect making reading effortless and enjoyable. The way she develops her characters and their story is absolutely amazing.

Presley moves to Fawn Hill to help her grandmother and in the process falls in love with this quaint, country town. Let me tell you that I want to move there! It’s sounds like picture perfect perfection. Presley grandmothers dog eats an article of her clothing and needs to be seen by the vet, cue in Keaton.

Presley and Keaton are a match made in heaven. Total opposites that found each other at the perfect time. Despite a few bumps in the road they find each other again.

I loved their story and am waiting with baited breath for the others stories!
