OMG! Why does this book have so many positive reviews???? This whole stupid series????

I'm on 9% and already I can't stand it any more! The writing is infantile! INFANTILE!

Prologue intrigued me to read further. But suddenly, chapter 1, the prisoner who's been so long imprisoned has broken FREE! No explanation, just suddenly free!

Then he's ripping open bags of blood in a hospital ward bc he refuses to kill a living thing and the h comes in and finds him and suddenly there's an irresistible attraction, even tho the guy's face is smeared like Hanibal Lecter! WTF!

Then, she takes him home with her. And they start getting it on, and she's like - well, I've had a couple of one-night-stands, and don't know tho this insane, blood drinking man is with the wild eyes, but he's gorgeous and likely has a magnificent (the author's words, not mine!) dick, so if he wants to get it on, I'm not going to stop him...

WHAT????!!!!

So.... I'm done with this book, this series, this author.

I do NOT understand how people like reading this stuff! I was had! Fooled! Arrrgggghhhhh!

Narration Type: Dual Narration.

The Hero: Dante - he was kept as a blood slave for years. He was tortured by the human servants that guarded him and was forced to submit to “her”. She fed from him and forced him to only feed from her. He was denied the varied tastes of blood from different humans. He loved the redheads, the dark-haired ones with light skin and the one-of-a-kind flavor unique to every human. He dreamt about the sustenance making him strong enough to break free when he slept, but always woke to his captivity, until one day he finally got free and ran.

The heroine: Erin - she was an ER nurse in New Orleans. One day she had to run to the blood bank to grab blood for a patient, when she finds the door to the blood bank open. She is accosted by a man with blood on his hands, who had obviously been wreaking havoc on the blood supply. He covers her mouth and smells her saying how good she smells. He says the blood from the supply wasn’t working and he pleads with her to help him.

The Story: Dante wanted to stay after Erin went back to the ER, but he didn’t want “her” to track him. He had been taken when he was young, just eighteen, a late bloomer and a vampire by birth. She told him she was his queen and kept him in her dungeon for untold years. He didn’t know if his once powerful family was still alive. He finds Erin in the parking lot and gets her to help him by taking him to her place in her car.

The chemistry between Erin and Dante was strong from the start, even though Dante wasn’t all that experienced since he was taken when he was so young. Though when things started to get hot and heavy, Dante was afraid he would hurt Erin. She really wanted to take things further, and felt a need to be near him and she trusted him. I hate when things start to heat up and you get let down like that when one of the main characters keeps backing off for some reason or another.

Dante had some PTSD from his time in captivity and “she” kept infiltrating his thoughts. He found his way home to his grandfather and cousin, only to find his father and uncle had come after him when he disappeared, and they also had never returned. He feared they may have been killed or kept in the same place as him.

Vampires were very different in this book than in any other I have read. They can eat, but just need the extra minerals in blood. The immortality thing was a myth, and they weren’t self-healing like in the myths. I don’t really understand why she even made a vampire book if they didn’t have all the benefits of immortality, though they were stronger and faster than humans. They can be burned in the sun though, so it seems being a vampire was much more of a negative than a positive.

I didn’t really understand some of the things Dante did. He was obviously suffering from PTSD, and he had a strong feeling that “she” was still looking to take him back, but he didn’t seem to be trying to hide himself at all. He went to stay with his grandfather who was the oldest living male vampire on the planet, and he knew that “she” knew who his family was. Yet he didn’t tell his family where he had been or what happened to him. The story moved a bit slowly for my liking but was still interesting.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by John Lane and Lauren Rowe. John has a super deep voice, which I like for a book like this. He was a bit stiff, but otherwise did a good job. Lauren Rowe she has a soft feminine voice, but her tempo makes it obvious she is reading. Overall, the narration could have been better, but it wasn’t bad enough to annoy me.

DNF. I’m really, really surprised at all of the high reviews. I was ready to stop after the second chapter but I thought there must be something I was missing so I kept going. Well, let’s just say that I didn’t find it.

Dante had suffered through a traumatic ordeal and now he's playing catch up. He's been a victim for 10 years and he's finally learning what it is to be a man. Well, a vampire male. He didn't count on meeting someone like Erin. Someone who called to him in ways he wasn't prepared for. Someone who he would be linked to in ways he couldn't possibly imagine. But will Erin be ready for all that Dante has to offer?

I've never read anything by this author before and I was pleasantly surprised by the introduction I got to her writing. Unchained was unlike anything else I've ever read before. Although it was a paranormal romance about vampires, these creatures were different than any other vampires I've learned about. They were as close to human as you can get and made this story into something unique.

I didn't think Helen Hardt could captivate me as she did with those amazing Steel Brothers, but this pivot to a new city, a new genre, and a brand-new idea has been, to say the least, an epic feat. The storytelling is fast-paced and easy to keep flipping, which makes the emotional wallop an even more stunning one. Before I knew it, my mind was wandering back to the story even at the post office and the grocery store--and that was when I knew Dante and Erin had been thoroughly woven into my imagination. Dante's back story is haunting, moving, and so tragic, already making him my cup of tea for a hero (think Talon Steel crossed with Zsadist, and then parked into the body of Daniel Gillies), and he meets his beautiful match, in more ways than the obvious, in the spirited Erin--who, believe it or not, became my favorite part of the story. You KNOW it's a great romance when you love the heroine just as much as the hero! Truly cannot wait for the rest of this saga--and for more of the heartfelt storytelling I've come to respect and love in Ms. Hardt's work.

***SPOILERS***
This book definitely has an interesting story, but the delivery fell short for me. Long review, so hold on. Also note, this is just my personal opinion and in no way is an attempt to say anything bad about the author or her talents. This may have just not been her best book or series. Spoilers, so beware.

The first part begins with Dante, a vampire who had been imprisoned for many years. He is stumbling around the city looking for blood, and he ends up in a hospital to meet the woman that will ultimately possess him for the entirety of the book: Erin. They become absolutely obsessed with each other from first eye contact, and there is a deeper connection between them that hasn't happened between a vampire and human for some time. That's the basic premise from the start.

Now, beyond this, the story fell apart for me. There is a lot of filler, or so it felt like. Dante goes here. Then he leaves. Then Erin goes here, then here, then leaves, then goes here. Dante is constantly uptight and arrogant, and he's suspicious over his grandfather for who knows what reason. By the end of the third part, I still have no idea what his problem with his grandfather was, or even why we are supposed to suspect... something... from the man. Unless his reason for anger was not justified and it escaped me.

My other problem -- I'll just say this: abbreviations for words. Oh man. Just... I couldn't. Certain words were abbreviated that just made me stop and I groaned (vamp, being one). It took me away from the seriousness of the story. I honestly wasn't a fan of the general writing or style, but that is my problem and not the author's. I only mention it as it was a big factor in my rating.

Now, I do get the back and forth, hot and cold between Dante and Erin after reading through the book in its entirety. But, I have to admit, it's extremely frustrating in the way it's written. It goes back to my point of the constant back and forth, person A goes here, and then goes there, and then person B goes here, and then decides a minute later to change locations for some reason or another, usually an upset. I was getting whiplash from all the moving around. And then we get another mystery introduced that hit out of nowhere, about Erin having mysterious marks on her leg? But, what I don't understand, is if she's supposedly bonded to someone else, how can she be bonded to Dante? I was under the impression the bond was pretty solid and existed between a fated human and their vampire, but... oi. I'm confused even now. Maybe it's explored in later books, but... confusion.

The story has promise, but I wasn't inclined to read any more of the series. I feel like the story was dragged on for the purpose of it being longer, at least, that's what it felt like to me. The cliffhanger was just so epically huge and after reading the first three, nothing felt good about the ending. 'Read more books to finish the story' basically. And I understand how a series works, but in book series I've read before, I at least felt some sort of completion at the end of each book, something was wrapped up in some way, and while in the 3-in-1 version of this book we did get one 'kind of' answer to the story (the explanation for the blood bond was also confusing and I felt it could have been explained or worked out better), I'm just so... underwhelmed? I'm not sure. I didn't even really connect with any of the characters. If nothing else, I felt bad for the grandfather because he seems to be getting a lot of flack for just wanting to be helpful or keep Dante safe. But Dante? My goodness man, just SAY something. Not everything has to be some wild secret! I get why you might be stuck in a teen's mindset, but speak!

I don't like leaving negative reviews, and this definitely isn't a 'bad' review per se, but I personally did not like how the book was written or the pacing. I did enjoy what story there was to enjoy to a point, but I wish the author had at least moved things along a bit better and left out the extremely energetic characters' traveling. If the ending had been more fulfilling in some way and not as confusing, I'd probably have given the story more of a chance. But maybe serials just aren't my thing.

As always though, kudos to the author for writing a story and getting it out there. I'm sure Helen has other wonderful books, and I'm sure many will enjoy this one where I did not.

Overall 4 Stars

The serial has nine parts and six of those parts are out. The parts are also lumped together with three books (like this) and so the first three parts are called Unchained. I know it’s confusing, but let’s just say, there’s 9 parts and I listened to the first three parts.

I did individual reviews for the first 3 parts (below are my ratings).

Part 1 – 5 Stars
Part 2 – 3.5 Stars
Part 3 – 4 Stars

This will be an overall review of the first 3 parts based on the fact I listened to it via audio.

I really enjoyed the audio

As up and down this serial is, I really enjoyed the audio. I think the star of the show is the male narrator, John Lane. His voice is SUPER deep and although I don’t like deep voices, I really enjoy him as Dante. I’m thinking of a victimized vampire, well I can imagine his voice. I like his acting and voice transitions.

Lauren Rowe has a pleasant voice. She isn’t my favorite narrator, but I wouldn’t mind listening to her again and her voice grows on you. I think her acting is pretty good and I do like her voice transitions.

A damaged Vampire

What worked for me is that the story is kind of different. I like the premise of the vampire, Dante, being the victimized one. He was kidnapped for ten years by another vampire, called the Queen. He’s out now, but we get flash backs to how he was treated.

I really like Dante although he did frustrate me at times, more on that later. He’s a damaged soul and you can’t help but feel for the guy.

The nurse, the Heroine

I do like that Erin is a nurse and she’s really out there. I’m not sure I like the fact she pursues Dante so much but she is a modern day woman. She doesn’t know anything about the vampire world and I enjoy reading about her.

A little different … too much or not enough

What I love about PNR books is the story building and I’m not 100% sold on this world. In this world, vampires age and they can die? I don’t like that. Sure they are strong, but it’s odd they eat food on top of blood. What makes them so special? Makes me not want to be a vampire in my opinion.

The first part of the book is really fast pace and I enjoy it a lot. I like how Dante and Erin meet and it’s overall enjoyable. What I didn’t enjoy is the middle of the book where things dragged a lot. I MEAN A LOT.

Several times Dante goes after Erin to only reject her, like five or six times. This made me really annoyed.

The story then starts to pick up a bit and thank goodness for that, as we get to know a little more of the vampire world and all the rules. That I do enjoy reading about.

The parts I didn’t care for were the Queen’s POV, Dante’s captor. She’s really negative and I don’t like the vibe of the villain “winning”. But that’s me.

So, my thoughts. It’s an okay book and I picked it up because of the whole Halloween vibe. I wouldn’t binge listen / read the series, but I plan on finishing it.

meh. that's all i have to say. i barely got through this, i only held on because i had recently DNF'd a book and i didn't want to do another one. lots of in-depth sex scenes, which can sometimes be good but i skimmed over in this book, and supposed insta-love which was more like insta-lust and attraction. the characters kinda annoyed me, but this was a free kindle book, so i can't complain.

thanks to Amazon Kindle and the author for the free book!

What a boring book. Nothing happened. We got the new vampire lore, a little interesting but nothing that got my imagination pumping with ideas. Then the rest of the book was a little bit of flashbacks and a tiny bit of building a mystery. Because the same things kept happening over and over and over again, you kind of just didn't care anymore. No one really got anywhere with anything. This book has a lot of good ratings, I guess this just wasn't my cup of tea.

I am not even going to finish this book! It looked to be an interesting romance/mystery but it has turned out to be a dragged out boring story with two characters who are whining about not having sex and kissing is pulling out his fangs. The story lacks enough to keep my interest and want to finish the book. BORING!!

I'm on the fence with this book. I'm interested in the story just not how it was presented or executed. The characters were dense at times. Sometimes too dense. Also, they repeated themselves quite a bit, saying the exact thing... word for word.

I'm continuing the series, only to satisfy my curiosity.

Dante's character just annoyed me. He gets ticked at everyone for not understanding his struggles but doesn't tell anyone what happened to him. He's also leaving Erin constantly (comes to see her, has a thought, then leaves) and it left me asking "what is up with this guy"?

I have said this over and over, but Helen Hardt will always be a MUST read for me.. Everything she writes is always AMAZING and Unchained is no exception! I am so happy she got out of her comfort zone and tried something new..

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat.. There are so many twists and turns you do not know what is coming next.. Also, who does not love New Orleans and better yet vampires?

From the moment Erin (ER Nurse) was introduced.. I loved her.. She is a great heroine and very relatable. There is an instant curiosity and attraction to Dante.. The chemistry between these 2 is both sensual and addicting and will keep you wanting more. Erin will put her job on the line and do what she can for him despite not knowing much about him initially. Something about him calls to her.

Dante oh Dante! Helen sticks to her true fashion in the creation of this amazing man! She definitely has an eye for what is appealing on EVERY sense of the word sensual. Her descriptions are phenomenal and you just have this vivid picture of his perfection. Dante has had a very rough past that he cannot seem to put back together. It has been a hard road for him... It was really emotional being apart of he and Erin working together on even the simplest of tasks.. Again... I will warn you of the TWISTS that are to come... Let me add.. they really transform this story!

I CANNOT wait to continue with this story.. You are definitely left with wanting and NEEDING more...

I cannot begin to describe how poorly this book is written. I understand that it was only 117 pages and that may be the reason the pacing is so awful but god, just, its so awful. The amount of times nipples are brought up, the amount of times things made 0 sense; the blatant mishandling of a r*pe victim ... not to mention the most tiring and horribly paced 'will they won't they' I may have ever seen in 117 pages. It reads like she thought up a bunch of "hot" scenarios and then just threw together a rough draft of how to get them from A to B, reason, logic, and consequences of your actions be damned. Just the writing itself is so bad.

Charline lets Erin know someone at the front desk is looking for her, Erin immediately thinks something along the lines of "gosh he's insane or he wants to see me". Yeah. He wants to see you. Charline just said it.

Dr. Bonneville pulls Erin away from speaking to a police officer for some super important thing, changes her mind, and we're just supposed to accept that one.

She says twice almost word for word that she didn't want to go into a 6 figure debt to become a doctor, but there's no mention of why she didn't get a scholarship? A grant? Did she attempt to find government funding? For something Erin wants "so bad" she apparently just gave up on it without actually doing much to secure her dream. She just sounds whiney and annoying every time she brings it up.

One of the main characters has gone through some serious r*pe trauma, and it's just shoehorned in there as a reason for more "angst".

I'm not even gonna type out my complaints that are smut written just know it's ... bad and it's unattractive and nonsensical and feels a lot like the author had a bunch of "hot" ideas that no idea how to link them so the parts that aren't smut are just afterthought and totally useless.

And those are just *some* of my problems that I made notes of from pages 78-117. If I'd started earlier I could've written an essay on why this book is worth none of your time. Had it not been for the fact a friend (had the misfortune) of purchasing all three of them (and asked if we could read them together) I would've ditched this book within the first few chapters.

P.S. The "special vampire descendants that are" look exactly like the author. It's just fanfiction. It's all true blood self insert fanfiction that somehow got published.

4 "Mystery" Stars

It was a good book obviously I love Helen hardt series especially the steel Brothers I just started this series because I'm really interested in what other books she made so far I well pleased. I gave the book four stars because at the beginning Dante was annoying. I will ever the book was still awesome and as I kept reading the book I eventually understood this character. I'm so excited about this series although I give it a four I'm still excited to read more about what's going to happen next. ️ ☺️ ☺️ 😍 ️ ❤️

This is a great PNR story that will have you hooked. Dante has been through quite an ordeal over the past decade and just when he thought he was able to gain control Erin comes into his life and throws him for another loop. There’s a mysterious undertone throughout these three parts and I love that I’m kept on my toes. I can’t believe there’s so many more parts in this saga, I was continuously going through 1-3 and need more now.

My first vampire book and it did not disappoint. However, for a species that is suppose to be feared I found myself feeling sorry for Dante and his vanishing kind. At no point was I scared or freaked out. Hope the next book has them kicking some a$@. I do love the character build up and all the loose ends that keep you guessing. Glad I can jump into the next book ASAP.

Part 1

This is my first ever vampire romance (twilight aside) ever and boy boy am I glad I made Helen Hardt the first. She has drawn me in to this world without it being tacky or cliche. Buffy meets Gabriel’s Inferno and I couldn’t put this down and now I am dying for the next one**

Dante and Erin will just surpass all expectations, defy all possibilities, and convert all hearts, minds, and souls from the very first. A third of Dante’s has been taken from him and now coming into this world a grown vampiric man he has to a lot to adjust to. Hungers and thirsts control all his impulses which is how he finds himself face to face with the intoxicating Erin Hamilton. Everything about this woman calls to him. He needs her instinctually and this primal urge is frankly undeniable. Always have been a nocturnal person by nature, Erin is used to the crazy that is NOLA nightlife, but when she catches a mesmerizing man vandalizing the blood bank she is left completely stunned. Dante Gabriel bewitches her to the point of recklessness but she can’t for the life of her care. Some hungers and just too powerfully to deny.

Part 2

The ties that bind are irrefutable and cannot be broken. Erin cannot understand two things - why she is so drawn to this mystery man that has entered her life and why he continues to rev her up and leave her high and dry. She should just walk away from this infuriating man but there is something that keeps pulling her to him that cannot be ignored. Dante is incensed when he discovers that someone has hurt this perfect creature that has bewitched him. She doesn’t even release the danger she has and still faces but he is determined to make sure she never is prey again. Learning why she calls to him and what still haunts him from his captivity are paramount to Dante rejoining the world, but digging in to them just may uncover answers he is not prepared for.

Part 3

What do you do when the very thing that is your salvation could ultimately be your destruction? As Dante digs deeper in to the inexplicable bond that ties Erin to him he discovers answers he would have rather left buried. This woman in such a short time has become everything and when he learns that fate has dealt them a hand that will be very tough to play. Dante already knows he is in very deep with Erin and the very idea of hurting her is abhorrent to him. Erin is done denying the inescapable pull that Dante has over her and will no longer let anything keep her from the bliss she feels in his arms. It seems like fate has brought them together and who is she to cast that aside? But is it truly fate at play or something else at work?

I grew up being a huge fan of vampires so when Helen came out with Unchained, I couldn't wait to read it. At first, I was a little worried because I know many have their own versions of what a vampire is. Helen's take is extremely different yet works perfectly. She gives Dante and the other vampires a more realistic existence in the real world and defies what I have known vampires to be, but is such a refreshing take. Dante's a broken vampire who is having issues dealing with what happened to him and falls in a love with nurse Erin, who can't help but be pulled towards him. As Dante struggles with his inner demons, he learns more and more about his ancestry that has him questioning whether being with Erin will put her in danger. This book is fast paced, emotional, and sexy. I would definitely recommend it to vampire fans with an open mind to accept a different take on a vampire.

Part One
Vampire Dante Gabriel escaped captivity only to come face to face with the realization that he knows nothing about his captor or even his own World. He lusts for blood, specifically her blood. Something in Erin calls to him but he can't ever act on his impulses. Not if he wants to kill Erin.

Erin Hamilton is dedicated to her work. Why then does she not report the man ransacking the hospital's blood bank? Her body & mind obey all his orders, her blood sings whenever he's close. She doesn't understand their connection but she knows she can't get enough.

I love Dante SO MUCH. He has a lot to deal with and more to learn. But the way he's drawn to Erin gives me tingles. He's such a growly alpha. I love it.

This story is completely different from any other Vampire Romance I've ever read. The entire vampiric universe is new, exciting and utterly captivating. There's so many mysterious and secrets that need to be solved and I am superbly excited for what's to come.

Part Two
Dante's struggles with coming to terms with the nightmares he's suffered isn't getting easier. To top that someone is after Erin but he can't for the life of him figure out who it could possibly be. As his frustration grows, so does his blood lust and controlling himself is becoming a humongous task. But he's determined to keep Erin safe even from himself.

Erin can't understand Dante hot and cold behaviour. She just needs the man to give her what she wants or stay far away. But something is pulling them closer and closer everyday. They can't figure out what it is nor can they stop it.

I am more confused and Holy Mother my theories are getting insane. I think I am at Dante's frustration level but GOD IT IS SO GOOD. I am absolutely sucked and deeply invested in this World of Vampires.

Just when you thought you'd have answers the story takes an unexpected turn and now you are wondering how will you get on with your life. I love love love Dante and the way he's drawn to Erin. It's so hot, it makes me swoon and hyperventilate. I also have grown to love Erin and honestly can feel her frustration.

I can't wait to see what all really is happening because seriously Dante and Erin just need to do the do and help us all out.

Part Three
Dante knows about the blood bond and that makes him question everything he feels for Erin. He needs to convince her to complete the bond or else their lives would be at risk. The Vampire race is on he verge of extinction and no human believes in them. How could her possibly explain all this to Erin? More than that how will her stop her from running away?

Erin doesn't understand Dante's behaviour but that didn't stop her from falling for him. Things have started getting more and more suspicious at work and she's determined to get to the root of it all. Unaware of the danger that surrounds her from all sides, Erin ventures deeper into the World of Vampires and bloodlust.

Omg?? If I thought things would get easier than I was dead wrong.

Dante is still his amazing brooding self and honestly I love his grump hate and cold routine because he can be sugary sweet too. His connection with Erin is so raw and pure, I can't get enough of it. I keep worrying about Erin's life constantly and it's like please just make these two happy.

It feels like things are finally getting to the crucial point and I am desperate for the next installments. This story is super engaging and well written. Can't wait to see more of Erin and Dante.

He lost ten years of his life. He lost his father and his uncle. He was denied the world and his family. Then he was free. He met a woman who consumed him so much that he wasn’t able to deal with anything else.

Dante was descended from a long line of strong and resilient vampires.
Dante’s family’s bloodline goes back hundreds of years and was slowly dying out being on the brink of extinction.

Narrators:
John Lane and Lauren Rowe were the narrators in this audiobook. They were my saving graces by saving me from reading this one. I usually read a book before purchasing the audiobook. The ebook was free so I bought the audiobook. They saved me the trouble of reading this one. Both narrators brought this story and its characters to life.

Overall:
I’m disappointed that Helen chose New Orleans for the prime vampire location. I get that this place is known for some weird paranormal activity, but it becomes redundant and unoriginal when authors choose the same location as everyone else.

I was hoping to see some different elements other than the common glamouring, sun sensitivity, blood lust, and keen sense of smell. These elements remind me of the Twilight vampires. I don’t want to compare these vampires to them. True Blood is another reference that comes to mind when thinking of all things paranormal. It saddens me that authors still follow the same patterns instead of creating their own.

All I really wanted to know is why was Dante taken? How did he escape?

I’m a skeptic when it comes to all things known as Insta-Love. This magical pull that they have just isn’t enough to get me excited. I am interested in the bite marks. I am interest in the shadowy ghost figure. Certain aspects of the story are more appealing than others, but not enough to sustain more reading.

Dante Gabriel is free of the female vampire who has kept him a blood slave for 10 years, but he’s not free from his drive for blood. Now on the brink of starvation, he is looking for blood in the only place he knows because he refuses to kill a human for it.

Erin Hamilton is an ER nurse in a French Quarter hospital who’s seen it all. Or at least she the thinks she’s seen it all, until she catches a smoldering guy pillaging through her hospital’s blood bank. But rather than turn him in, she feels a strong desire to help him.

So this book series has a lot of really great reviews, a lot of comparisons to 50 Shades of Grey. To me it was just meh.

I liked Dante a lot, but he was so inconsistent with Erin! And the antics ended up becoming repetitive. He’d feel drawn to Erin, go to her apartment, kiss and get her naked, then leave, saying he couldn’t go further. And I mean, he did this like a dozen times. By the time this foolishness ended, I was as sexually frustrated as Erin!

Without going into any more of the plot lest I give spoilers, the book seemed a bit amateurish to me. There was stilted dialogue, unclear motivations, questionable reactions, and, of course, the dreaded box block, clam jam, whatever you want to call it.

I found Dante really hot, but unfortunately not enough to continue the series.

Erin Hamilton works the night shift in the ER at the Local hospital. She expects just another busy night shift until she stumbles upon a stranger covered in blood in the hospitals blood bank. She starts to scream but then the stranger covers her mouth.
Dante Gabriel has been Held captive for the past 10 years. When he escapes and is drawn by the smell of blood. He soon founds himself gorged in a bag of blood at the local hospitals blood bank.
Instead Of calling hospital security Erin tells the stranger to go clean up in the bathroom and wait for her until her shift ends. Once her shift ends she takes him back to his apartment to discover she really likes this person but yet she knows nothing about him. The chemistry starts to develop between the two. But memories start to flood back into his mind of his years being held captive. Can Dante control himself around Erin or will the pull of her blood end her.

Ugh not really what I expected honestly. I was hoping for a twilight underworld mix but I feel as if I’m reading a bad parity novel. Beginning was really straight forward. Really wish it had started different maybe like Lynsey Sands book love bites.

This series is amazing! A must read!

Blood Bond part 1 - The Blood Bond Saga is off to an excellent start! Dante and Erin's story grabbed me at page one. Vampires, New Orleans, danger, mystery, and romance.....what more could you ask for! Helen's books always grab you and don't let go! And the ending.......I cannot wait to read part 2!

Blood Bond part 2 - Blood Bond part 2 picks up right where part 1 left off and this series is riveting! So many unanswered questions, so much mystery, and such a feeling of danger lurking everywhere! Dante and Erin are becoming more and more drawn to each other and there are so many questions I want answers to! A page turner and hard to put down! Can't wait for part 3!

Blood Bond part 3 - This series just gets better and better! Each installment just draws you more and more into the story and you can't get to the next part fast enough! There is so much mystery and unknown elements! And oh "the Queen" .....I'm dying to know who it is! Dante and Erin are totally captivating me and I can't wait to read part 4!

Truthfully the book is awful. Almost none of the plot threads introduced go anywhere. Some are followed up only to be dropped because Erin wants Dante's cock or he wants to smell her coochie. There are times where stuff should be emotional, but we must forget that because it's coochie time. Dante even comes to the conclusion at one point that the only way to fix his immense trauma is Erin's coochie, the coochie he has more than once said he could smell from across the room, and that it also smells like fresh flowers and fruit. Erin is flat as hell. Her character is nothing but a walking coochie. There's even a part where someone asks her about herself and all she said was "I have a brother and I'm an ER nurse" and really, that sums up her character. HOWEVER it's absolutely HILARIOUS to read. As a romance, it's tepid and not that sexy, but as an unintentional comedy? Wonderful. Fantastic. Like there's even a vampire ghost who follows around the male protagonist and nobody knows about it except one homeless man and an ancient vampire named Bill. The quotes you could pull from this book left me laughing my ass off and the sequences of events that take place over this almost 400 page book was off the rails. I'm definitely going to continue this series to see if it stays that way.

Blood Bond 1:
3 stars

I think I was expecting something more with this first part. I guess with a bit over 100 pages, there's only so much to be said. I look forward to the next part.

Blood Bond 2:
3 stars

This part seemed a lot of a filler, nothing really substantial has really happened yet and some things were also repeated. I hope things start progressing more soon.

Blood Bond 3:
2 stars

I started to skim in this part. For one I'm surprised Em (Dante's sister) hasn't really had a part yet, in which I think she should have by now. That up until now, the scenes are mainly with Dante, Erin, River, Bill and Erin's work! Its just that the story is very slow moving at a snails pace. Also with what is happening isn't something I want to read in this paranormal aspect. I think Helen tried to be different with her vampires, then your typical story, but at the same time sadly I'm not invested anymore.
