Books Make a Difference

A book can change a child’s life – it can lead to a lifelong love of reading and educational success.

Evidence suggests that children who read for enjoyment every day develop a broader vocabulary, increased general knowledge and a better understanding of other cultures.

In fact, reading for pleasure is more likely to determine whether a child does well at school than their social or economic background.

There are still a number of families in Malta who are struggling to provide even the bare necessities due to limited budgets. This leaves vulnerable children starved of their own little home library and easy access to reading on a daily basis.

Agenda Bookshop – Books Make a Difference aims to provide these children with a little library of their own, filled with books that they will love and can read at their own leisure, in their own home - over and over again! We have teamed up with the Foundation for Welfare Services to ensure that every child has their own little library. And we need your help to do this, please!

How does it work?

Every month we are sending each child a book bundle worth €20 - depending on their taste and age group.

Agendabookshop.com is sponsoring half the value (€10) and we need your help to raise the remaining €10.

You can select to Sponsor a Child for a whole year or for as little as a month or two - depending on your budget.

You will receive a Sponsor Certificate with every order via email which you can forward or print as a gift.

In 2021 we collected enough donations to help 25 children - identified and selected by the Foundation for Welfare Services - This year we need your help to ensure that even more kids will have their own little library in 2023!

Thank you 😊

Thank You for your Donations!
