Born on 12th January 1971. Striked by the first Van Halen Album cover, he decides to “create” graphic in his life. Wonderful years will follow attending the artistic high school and passing the time drawing. Despite this, the father wants him to become a doctor, but he doesn’t give up and to show his perseverance he wins a scholarship from the European Social Fund, therefore he attends the New Academy of Fine Arts with great satisfaction. At the end of the third year at the Academy of Fine Arts, while he was diving in the mud playing as a goalkeeper for a local soccer team, he sees his mother on the border of the soccer field shouting something unintelligible: McCann (a well known adv company) was looking for him for an emergency, a brother’s friend who was working there as an art director, needed an assistant to complete a very important presentation. From that “emergency” his professional path was born: McCann for 10 years, DLV BBDO for one year and then another 6 years in McCann working as Creative Director on Gazzetta dello Sport Newspaper. In 2004 he establishes H-57, before as a garment product line and then as a Design and Motion graphic studio. A lot of satisfactions in these years like the project for Lucasfilm “The Force of Typography”, the birth of Shortology with 13 books published all over the world, a Cannes Lion in the design category with the book “Life in five Seconds”, Cortology exhibition at Oberdan and much more.

Ich habe das Buch bestellt, weil ich einige Bilder davon auf einer Website gesehen habe und sofort von der Idee begeistert war! Es ist einfach sehr amüsant zu sehen, wie große Personen, Ereignisse, Filme etc. aussagekräftig auf ein paar Piktogramme reduziert werden und man immer noch erkennt, wer oder was es sein soll. Klar, bei manchen kommt man doch schon schwer ins Grübeln, aber das ist es auch, was den Spass beim "Lesen" aufrecht hält.

Nun einmal kurz zur nüchternen Beschreibung des Buches:

Es ist ein Softcover in fast quadratischer Form und etwas größer als DIN A 5. Die Seiten sind relativ dick & stabil. Das ganze ist ordentlich gebunden und ist definitiv sehr liebevoll illustriert.
Es hat außer dem Vorwort (und den "Lösungen" des Bilderrätsels unten links auf jeder Seite) KEINERLEI TEXT!!
Alle, die hier eine Infobroschüre über die Verwendung von Piktogrammen und deren Verwendung suchen, sind hier definitiv falsch!! Wer den Infotext gelesen und den "Blick ins Buch" genutzt hat, weiß das aber auch...:)
Das Buch ist nicht ins Deutsche übersetzt, alles Englisch.

Ich kann nur eine Kaufempfehlung aussprechen, weil es mir absolut Spass gemacht hat, dieses Buch durchzuschauen; außerdem kann man super mit freunden rätseln, was dort abgebildet ist, weil sich einige Bilder nicht sofort erschließen. :)

Ganz klar: KAUFEN!

Certaines sont un peu impossible à deviner parce que liés à la culture anglaises, mais bon c'est vraiment une infime partie du livre !

Ah et pour les anglophobes, à par l'intro que vous ne comprendrez pas, le reste ne vous posera pas de problème :-)
