About our featured Artists:

Henry Mansfield

Born and raised in a post-grunge Seattle, Henry Mansfield brings forth the next generation of anthemic and theatrical indie. A storyteller whose chosen medium is rock music, Mansfield’s songs examine the minutiae of modern interactions over kaleidoscopic piano and drums.

Carl Christensen

With wordy, clever, and wry lyricism Carl Christensen writes songs with a healthy sense of humor and a heavy dose of cynicism. Backed by the iconic Lake Flora Band Christensen tells the truth with a touch of twang over a unique blend of Alt-Country, Americana, and Rock. With devilish charm and charismatic cynicism, Christensen uses the classic structure of country music to tell new and off-the-wall stories.

Amy Laybourn

Amy is a Seattle musician, songwriter, teacher, performer and kind human.

About Magnolia Music Showcase

Magnolia Music Showcase is a quarterly event hosted by MUMC (Magnolia United Methodist Church).  The first two showcases were held in Spring, 2023, and featured a number of excellent local singer/songwriters, including:  Magnolia Steel, Erick Irons, Alejandro Garcia, Giantish, Lonnie Baldwin, Lilly Miller, Dave Hates Chico, and Javis Johns. Our second season started up on Oct 20, with a great line-up, including Phono Paradiso, Lucas Van Linden, and Dax Millan.  On December 15, we featured Cullen Cochran, The Beatbox Panda, Townsend's Solitaire.  And then, on Feb 16, 2024 we were honored with the music of Sara Camile, Hot Notes Quartet, and Bindlestiff Thorouex.

April 19 will be the final showcase this season, with the program expected to return in the Fall 2024.  Events are curated to introduce top quality musicians to a new audience. We want to play a part in making Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood known for its music scene, to build community among musicians in the area, and to highlight some amazing social causes.  MMS is always all-ages and free entry. A $10 donation towards our charity is appreciated. Past charities have included Heifer International, the Ballard Food Bank, Seattle's LGBTQ Center (gaycity.org), Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center's preschool program, and Edible Hope. We are excited to raise funds for Mary's Place with our April 19th event.

If you, or someone you know, would like to be considered for future Magnolia Music Showcases, please send info about your act, and links to recordings and/or video to ContactMagnoliaMusic@gmail.com.  Acts of all sorts (keep it family friendly) will be considered for inclusion.
