Manolita’s Grant for the Care of Refugees. December 2023
This grant is being offered to refugee or immigrant support organizations, provided by either a 501(c)3 or other tax exempt organizations based in the U.S. The grant has been named in honor of Manolita Puyuelo Broto. Her refugee story can be found on our website at https://www.bellacf.org/manolitas-grant

Our main goal for this grant is to provide support to individuals, families, women, children and youth, who have been displaced because of forced migration (including asylum seekers, refugees and migrants). The support can come from legal advise, learning opportunities or social-emotional support.

  • legal advice and defense,
  • financial and bond assistance,
  • empowering individuals and their families through engaging and therapeutic or educational activities.
  • promoting the rights of immigrants and refugees
  • advocating for immigration and human rights.
Other Rules and Qualifying Notes
The grant money must be spent directly on program costs and not on general operational costs of running the non-profit or organization.
The programming must not discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, nationality, citizenship, legal status, race, color, religion, belief system, or disabilities.

“Our attitude towards immigration reflects our faith in the American ideal. We have always believed it possible for men and women who start at the bottom to rise as far as the talent and energy allow. Neither race nor place of birth should affect their chances.
