Protection #7

Mine to Share

Rate this book
Five murders, one killer, and a chance at an unconventional happily ever after. Two years ago, flirty FBI agent Jameson Bend was the crush I left behind.
Today, the grumpy Detective Slade is the man who stars in my dirty fantasies.

When my autopsy findings connect five recent murders committed by a single suspect, Jameson and Slade join forces to help solve the series of homicides. Toss in my emotionally abusive ex-husband stalking me, and I’ll not only need Jameson and Slade’s help to piece the clues together on the case but also to protect me from my ex’s attempts to force me back under his control.

As we work side by side in the heat of the investigation, our longing turns into desire, and soon we’re tangled in a passionate affair that could cost us our jobs—and lives. They cater to every side of me, one sweet and sensitive, the other possessive and protective. I never expected to end up with two men, but now I can’t imagine my life without them.

But with the killer hiding in plain sight, I walk right into a carefully planned trap.
If my men can’t get to me before time runs out…
Our happily ever after will end before it even gets started.

Mine to Share is a standalone, multi point of view, MFM, age gap, grumpy/sunshine, second chance, forced proximity, dark romantic suspense. Each book in the Protection Series can be read as a standalone, but because of character crossover, they are best read in order. Please note this book is for mature readers due to detailed sexual content, foul language, discussion of abuse, and violence.

If you love a little darkness, murder, and possessive alpha heroes with the need for control mixed into your suspense, then this series is for you.

Mine to Share was action packed, suspensful, steamy and incredibly enjoyable to read. I have not read the previous books in this series but I didn't feel too out of the loop. Jameson, the behavioral unit FBI agent, finds himself working a serial killer case. Rain, the cute as hell coroner knows Jameson and is excited to be sharing some space with him for a bit. Slade, the grumpy detective and Rain's shadow, is also working alongside Jameson and Rain and it's not long before everyone starts catching feelings. Well more feelings than was already established! Because Jameson wants a MFM situation, Rain is TOTALLY ok with that and Slade just wants Rain.

In the midst of solving their case, these three learn that the bond of friendship can morph into something deeper and more meaningful quickly. Will they all three jump and see where it goes?

Rain's inner thoughts were so relatable and I loved all her quirks. She was such a great heroine. Jameson was a perfect mixture of dominant and teddy bear (but never submissive) and I loved that. Slade was protective and dominant and I adored the friendship he struck with Jameson. These two worshiped Rain and she definitely deserved to be someone's complete focus.

“It’s a part of who you are, Rain. If I can’t accept all of you, then I don’t deserve any of you.”

All around a good romantic suspense with plenty of heat and a plot to keep me engaged!

Another great read by Kennedy L. Mitchell! Mine to Share was well written, moved quickly, and had tons of action and suspense. All the MCs were great from the quirky coroner to the grumpy detective to the golden retriever vibes FBI agent. The relationship development definitely worked and the smexy times, super hot 🔥🔥. Fans of MFM and romantic suspense will definitely walk away happy! Love that Det Mott will be getting his HEA too ♥️.

I am not a huge MFM reader, but I am a big fan of this author so I gave it a try. I loved it! The suspense elements were top notch - I did not guess the bad guy and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I absolutely loved the relationship between the three main characters and how it came about. I absolutely loved Jameson and how he was with Rain. His friendship with Slade was so fun and I loved the banter between all three. If you are a romantic suspense fan, I definitely recommend this book and series!

Mix suspense with hwat MFM action. You are hooked from the beginning and as the story grows the heat rises. Mitchell did a great job catching your popular serial killer story and mix 5 degree heat with Dr. Rain, Slade and Jameson.

Rain Jameson & Slade
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

An FBI agent, an ME and a detective.

Jameson and Aaron knew eachother from working together two years prior. Then she took a job as the ME and works with detective Slade. There is a serial killer on the loose who is killing young men, this gathers the attention of the FBI. Jameson had a crush on Rain when they first met but she was married so nothing came of it…… now she is divorced and she has eyes for Jameson and Slade. They are all working of the serial killer minders together and they become closer and end up being together.

HEA— this book was pretty good some aspects of Thai book were 🙄🙄 but i enjoyed the serial killer background.

This was my first read from this author but if Mine to Share is anything to go by it won’t be my last. I loved her characters, the dynamics and chemistry between them and her storylines that were well developed

Profiler Jameson Bend arrives in the coastal town of Santa Coasta when Detective Slade Taylor reached out to the FBI for help with a serial killer targeting men. Jameson was pleasantly surprised to find a familiar face from his days as a cop working as the medical examiner. He’d had a mild flirtation with Doctor Rain Evans but as she was married it didn’t go anywhere but the one good thing to come out of their friendship was he helped her to see just how mentally abusive that relationship was. Now there’s nothing stopping him from pursuing a relationship with her except for the mutual if unrequited attraction between her and a certain detective…. but then again Jameson has never had a problem with sharing.

I loved the slowburn development of the relationships especially when it came to the physical aspects and how it didn’t have all three characters jumping straight into bed. Things started slowly between only the heroine and one of the heroes before evolving into including all three. As the most experienced of the three when it came to sharing Jameson was the driving force initially as, even though Rain had grown up in a poly relationship, she hadn’t participated in one while it was a complete eye opener for Slade who had to be persuaded of the advantages and the benefits to Rain. I especially loved the friendship that developed between Jameson and Slade which was brotherly in its tone with Jameson definitely the teasing younger brother in the equation and some of their dialogue was amusing as Slade made it clear there would be no crossed swords between them so to speak while Rain was oblivious to all the undercurrents going on as she was dealing with her own problems, not least of all her developing feelings for both men and the worry that one would be hurt – well I did say she was oblivious! All this is set against the gripping plot line of an escalating serial killer. Yes I figured out who the killer was early on but the overall story was well written and it wasn’t a case of suspending belief when the killer was finally revealed.

Oh I liked this book, the dynamic of these three was good to see, the friendship of Jameson and Slade? How special is Rain? I LOVED IT!

The story of this trio was great, it starts when Rain does an autopsy and finds more evidence along with three other bodies that it is a serial killer and our detective Slade asks the FBI for help and they send Jameson who is a profiling agent to try and find out who the killer is. The relationship that these three formed was beautiful, I really liked how they understood Rain and made her feel seen, how they protected her from her ex and I really liked Rain's personality, how introverted she was but also how focused on her work.

The suspense? One of the best, I felt like I was watching a chapter of Criminal Minds while reading all this. The huge twist at the end? I will say that I was right about who the killer was. A good read that, despite its length, felt very good to read.

Thanks to Kennedy L. Mitchell and The Author Agency for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review 📚!!

Oh este libro me gusto, la dinámica de estos tres fue buena de ver ¿la amistad de Jameson y Slade? ¿lo particular que es Rain? ¡ME ENCANTO!

This is my sixth book by this author and I loved it.

Mine To Share is the 7th book in the Protection series, but my first book of this series, and I'm adding the first 6 to my TBR.

Rain, is the medical examiner in Santa Costa, she is quirky, talks to "her🤣" dead bodies in the morgue (ncis moments here) and is obsessed with tennis shoes, and can't seem to make friends. Believing that no one likes her, because of said quirks.

Jameson, was a detective and now he is an FBI profiler. He gets a call out to Santa Costa to help on an investigation and re-connects with Rain, the woman he had an undeniable connection and chemistry with two years prior, but never crossed the line because she was married.

Slade, he is a former pro football player, and has spent the last 12 years in law enforcement. He was about to call it quits when Rain became the new medical examiner, and he has stayed to protect her. He is grumpy and basically threatened every man on the force. (Hence the h having no friends 🙈)

When Rain and Jameson re-connect all cards of the table as she is single and the spark they once had is still there, but she isn't only attracted to Jameson, but she believes that Slade doesn't feel the same way about her.

Jameson and Slade develop an instant friendship, Jameson being the communicator of course 😂. Rain, loves both men and the chemistry is 🔥 the steamy moments 🥵🌶️🔥

And the storyline involving the serial killer, had me on edge...had my suspicions on who the suspect was, and was really glad my suspicions were right even though I did doubt myself a few times because this author just made things seem as if someone else did it 🙈

This was a really good book!! It had me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. It was not only mysterious but funny and so hot!!! Like fire hot the chemistry between Rain, Slade and Jameson was outstanding. And I really liked how both men was just all about her but Jameson liked the control that Slade needed. And Rain was so quirky and just her own person and I loved how both men loved her how she was and let he be herself and encouraged her in all her quirkiness. Now as far as all the murder and mystery I kept going back and forth between 3 people for a bit. Then I was like no it's between these two and right as I figured it out they told who it was!!! I usually figure it out a lot sooner most times so I really like how she kept me on my toes. So if you enjoy some romantic mystery with some funny parts thrown in you will love this book. The only thing I wished it had was a bonus epiloge that showed them a few more years down the road but that's just me being picky and doesn't take away from this book at all. It was a great read!!

Thank you to the author for providing this ARC.

This was my first book by this author and I loved it !

Rain (medical examiner), Jameson (FBI agent) and Slade (detective) are investigating a series of homicides together. Rain and Jameson have history, Rain and Slade currently work together (and have a massive crush on each other).

The three of them have amazing chemistry together and complete each other (at work and in their relationship). There is great balance between the development of the romance and of the solving of the murder investigation and I loved trying to piece the puzzle to figure out who the serial killer was.

Ok so i went into this book knowing basically everything that's written on this picture and you know what, the selling point (for me at least) isn't even on here. This book is a spicy Criminal Minds episode. I started it just excited to get into a new to me author's mind and apparently it was just my mind but minus the ADHD. I was immediately hooked and side eyeing everything and everyone trying to figure out the guy, unsub 😉, was. The main female character, Rain, is a medical examiner and I love her and her thought process so much cause it reminds me of myself and then the men? Lordy the banter these two had not only subtlety ribbing each other but the hurt her and 💀 vibes? 10/10

Sexy and enthralling.

This book was captivating from the very beginning.
Slade, Rain, and Jameson were amazing characters who fit so well together. Their chemistry was on point, and their respect for each other was beautiful.
They brought the best the other had to offer, and the plot complemented their relationship smoothly.

Kennedy has completely blown this one out of the ball park, Jameson, Slade, and Rain are my absolute favourite.
It's hotter than Hades, thrilling, the chemistry was off the scale, i
couldn't look away, i didn't want to put it down, the suspense, the thrill of the chase for who was responsible. Every thought I had was proved wrong.
My Senses were on  high alert throughout at times it felt like I was right there, feeling everything that they were, and my emotions were a mess.

If you love a thriller with all the steam and suspense, this is definitely one for you. it's absolutely brilliant.

Rain is the ME that has recently determined that a string of murders are connected, meaning a serial killer is on the loose. Slade is the detective working the case but is coming up short and doesn't know where to look. Enter FBI profiler, Jameson, who is sent to help solve the case and just so happened to work with Rain years prior. Jameson and Rain fall right back into their flirty banter, making Slade instantly jealous and wishful. I really enjoyed this story! I loved how the story was focused on the case and had a good build-up to other things.

Long time readers of Kennedy L. Mitchell have been waiting for Jameson to get his HEA….and boy oh boy was the wait SO WORTH it! So worth it! Friends. If you were in love with Jameson in Mine to Love you have seen nothing yet. Jameson Bend is the dream book boyfriend. DREAM I tell you. A new profiler for the FBI he is on his first solo mission and off to a small town where the ME (medical examiner) thinks they have a serial killer in their town. Dr. Rain Evans is the new ME. Might be new to her role as an ME but this woman is brilliant. Detective Slade Taylor is an amazing homicide detective and works closely with Rain. He is enamored with her.
Jameson has worked with Rain in the past and has never been able to get her out of his mind. He cannot wait to work with her. Jameson is so thoughtful, kind, supportive and it seems knows just the right things to say to but both Rain and Slade at ease. Jameson is sensitive and sees that Rain’s emotional needs cannot be provided by one person. He knows his limitations, and wants better for his relationship.
Dr. Rain Evans recently started a new life and career in a new place. But man is she lonely. Her job is lonely and busy, leaving not a lot of time for a personal life. But she longs for a connection. And has seriously crushed on Detective Slade Taylor since starting her new life. Rain is one of my favorite heroines in this series. She is brilliant. So smart, funny, witty, and cares so much for people. On top of that she has a fun style and enjoys the little things in life.
Slade on his second career and several failed relationships which makes him keep his distance from Rain. This man is so drawn to this dynamic charming woman. Slade has a giant heart and is so protective of those that he loves, but he feels that he really needs to protect Rain from himself. The process of Slade understanding that he truly is part of what Rain needs was so realistic in my opinion. Slade took some time and there were events that put things into perspective for him, but once this man embraced Rain and Jameson it was so beautiful. And his take charge approach had me fanning myself.
If you have never read a book about a poly relationship or MFM this book is a must read for you. Jameson, Rain, and Slade all have an amazing connection and friendship. They understand one another and support each other emotionally. One aspect of this book that I think was the most amazing is that their relationship is not based on sex. It is emotionally supporting one another and being there for each other. Yes, they also have an intense sexual connection as well, but that is secondary to their already formed emotional bond. I was rooting for these three from the get go. Their relationship growth was amazing. No swords cross, but Jameson and Slade are extremely close friends and there are “group” activities (that are so amazing…so hot I feared my ipad was going to explode)! In the midst of these three finding love and building a relationship they also were searching and putting the clues together to find a serial killer. I truly adore how Mitchell intertwines both the case and the characters' finding love. The tidbits and clues she gives you throughout the book truly make her books unputdownable! Trust me, I say you are going to want to binge read this book! She also gives us side characters at a point when you least expect it and makes you fall in love with them.
If you are new to Kennedy L. Mitchell I highly recommend this series and book! While it is a standalone you will want to binge this entire 8 book series and move onto some of her other series as we wait for Mine to Shelter. Mitchell’s books give us intense suspense, mystery, bad guys, amazing alpha heroes, steamy steamy scenes, so much heart!

4.25stars--MINE TO SHARE is the seventh instalment in Kennedy L Mitchell’s contemporary, adult PROTECTION erotic, romantic suspense series. This is FBI agent/ profiler Jameson Bend, former professional football player Detective Slade Taylor, and coroner/ medical examiner Dr. Rain Evans’ story line. MINE TO SHARE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. FBI Agent Jameson Bend was first introduced in books six MINE TO LOVE

NOTE: MINE TO SHARE features a M/F/M menage relationship between Jameson, Rain and Slade.

Told from three first person perspectives (Jameson, Slade and Rain) MINE TO SHARE follows the search for a serial killer targeting young men in Santa Coasta, California. Dr. Rain Evans is the medical examiner tasked with examining the bodies but working side by side with Detective Slade Taylor mean up close and personal with the man who stirs something deep inside but Rain never expected to come face to face with someone from her past, FBI Agent Jameson Bend, a seasoned profiler sent in to help take down the person responsible. A crappy no-tell motel, a break in at Rain’s, and a mutual attraction between Jameson, Rain and Slade pushed our trio together in an effort to amass the clues pointing a finger at a desperate killer. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Slade, Rain and Jameson, and the potential fall-out as Rain is targeted by her past, and the person responsible for a series of kills.

The world building focuses on the investigation into a possible serial killer, killings that at first do not look connected. On the surface , the young men have nothing in common but as the killings increase, the killer become more meticulous, and the team discovers a possible connection to it all.

The relationship between Slade, Rain and Jameson is a menage affair. Slade has lusted after Rain for as long as he can remember but having failed at his own previous relationships, Slade is in no condition to promise Rain a happily ever after. Jameson has had experience with menage relationships but having been the odd man out on his las affair, Jameson is looking forward to starting a life with Slade and Rain. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word.

The secondary and supporting characters include several law enforcement members including police detective, FBI and the medical examiner’s office. We are introduced to Detective Hudson Mott whose story line is next in MINE TO SHELTER.

MINE TO SHARE is a story of power and control, betrayal and obsession, revenge and murder, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing, detailed and captivating; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are determined, dynamic and strong.

Mine To Share – Protection Series #7 - Review

Author: Kennedy L. Mitchell

Couple: Rain with Jameson Bend & Detective Slade

Tropes: why choose, MFM, dark romance, romantic suspense, FBI/Detective/ME, second chance romance, age-gap, friends to lovers, touch her and die vibes, age-gap

Review: A gritty, dark and thrilling read that will leave you in suspense until the very end! Kennedy Mitchell weaves an exciting tale that kept me on edge from the first page and in my seat until the end. In this multi-POV romance, we meet Rain, Jameson and Slade who are all parts of a collective whole.

Rain is the ME for the case Jameson is assigned too and I fell in love with all her quirks and wit. The innocent way she had about her added a ton of character and levity to this book. Kennedy did a wonderful job with adding the suspense along the plot lines in regards to Rain’s past. I enjoyed how she was not arrogant or prideful since it made her character more genuine to read. I also loved how she was very open about relationships even if she was not the best communicator.

Jameson was my favorite MMC in this book even though Slade was a good fit for the group I felt like Jameson was the glue that held everyone together. I loved how he was very happy go lucky but also intelligent. Kennedy did an amazing job with creating his back story and the intertwined past he had with Rain. I think my favorite park about him was how he was a fixer but not overly arrogant about it. The way he cared for Rain and helped Slade admit his feelings also skyrocketed him to the top of my list in this read! Slade on the other hand was more closed off but I enjoyed how he was more serious and broody. I felt like he added the silent strength to Rain and Jameson at times but also grounded them better than if it was just the two of them.

The way Kennedy interwove Rain’s past crush with her new one created a tension from the beginning. I loved reading about how Rain overcame her struggles and grew to be confident in herself. The chemistry between Rain and Jameson was off the charts and I felt like the explosive nature of it fit the two of them to a T. I also enjoyed how it was more of a slow build between Rain and Slade. The bonds between them seemed more organic than if everything had happened at once and I appreciated how they all discussed everything that concerned them.

This is a murder/mystery/thriller novel and the action is intense. The emotions and suspense Kennedy creates is second to none and will keep you reading this book to find out what happens with Rain and her men!

Rating: 10/10, Another amazing romantic suspense novel from Kennedy!

Rain's been dreaming of her coworker, Detective Slade, for awhile now. Unfortunately for her, he sees her as just the ME he's working with on their current serial killer case. Then Jameson comes to town, now a profiler with the FBI, to help with their case, and she remembers how flirty he had been when they knew each other. She's not married now, so their obviously mutual attraction can go where it inevitably will. And perhaps they can bring grumpy Slade along for the ride...

I will be the first to say that MFM is not really my jam, I prefer MMF, but it's great here. The balance of physical and emotional is nice, they develop their relationship and feelings at an organic pace, slow burn even, and the three have distinct, complementary personalities. And the suspense is top notch - I never had a clue who the real killer was. I love romantic suspense, especially like this one, with a case that's as interesting as the romance, sizzling chemistry, and really likable leads.

So disappointed. I’ve been looking forward to Jameson’s story for a while and I didn’t enjoy it. 🥲

I don’t even know where to start with this review. I’m gutted. I was really looking forward to Jameson’s book, and it wasn’t enjoyable, at all! I don’t know where all the amazing reviews come from for this. I usually love Kennedy L Mitchell books and I’ve read them all, but this one isn’t her up to usual standard at all. It drags on and on and I didn’t want to read it in the end.

So the book starts with Rain who is a really sad, lonely character. As a slightly weird ME who talks to the dead as though they’re alive, Rain is all alone. She’s all alone and no one talks to her because Slade one of the men in this book is a complete di*k!

Slade really likes Rain but doesn’t think he’s good enough for her. Slade is a detective who used to be a pro footballer until a knee injury forced him to quit. He takes endless pain pills as he can hardly get out of bed in the morning. I did wonder at a few points whether he should be a detective, taking as many pain pills as he does. So he thinks he’s not good enough for Rain, so he warns all the men at the station away from her. So no one ever talks to her!! Which is a really di*k move to make as Rain had a terrible ex husband who put her down all the time. So she has no confidence at all.

When Rain and Slade discover they have a serial killer, the FBI are called in. Jameson who we met in the previous book as a detective, is now an agent. I loved Jameson in the previous book and in this one. He’s funny, kind, caring and sexy. He has met Rain before and really likes her. He wants a relationship with Slade and Rain. Rain wants it too but Slade isn’t keen at first.

That’s half the problem of this book being boring! At 50% I was going to give up and not finish it, but I usually love this author. So I persevered. I wish I hadn’t! The serial killer is boring, Slade doesn’t get with Rain and Jameson till about 60%, Rain is dull, and Jameson is the only one I cared about. The serial killer is boring, and yes it’s obvious who it is and yes it does spoil it, as all three miss all the signs pointing to the person.

So there you have it. Slade and Rain are boring. the serial killer is boring and I really didn’t understand the climax of this book. It doesn’t make sense.

“Then you have the incorrect definition of perfect. Because from where I stand, what I see and know about you, all of you, inside and out, that word sums you up.”

In this book we meet Rain, the socially awkward ME who is working in Santa Coasta and has pieced together 5 murders that are all connected. She is recently divorced and can't even find time to entertain a significant other with her job. Plus the number her ex did on her doesn't help her confidence. She's used to interacting with dead bodies, not live ones.

Slade Taylor works for the Santa Coasta PD and is sent to work with Rain on the cases. He has always felt something for Rain but he thinks that she just wants to be coworkers. There's also the fact that he has been divorced multiple times and feels he can't give her what she really needs. He feels as though he isn't good enough for her.

Jameson Bend is an FBI Profiler who is assigned to the murder cases and brought in to help Slade. But Jameson helps Slade with more than just the cases. He convinces Slade to come out of his shell and explore his feelings for Rain. Jameson has also had feelings for Rain but she was married the last time he saw her two years ago. But now with her ex out of the picture, anything can happen...

I loved Jameson and Slade's friendship! It felt like they have been friends for years instead of just knowing each other for a few weeks! They knew that having a relationship with Rain with two of them sharing her that they would each bring something different to the table!

This trio was absolutely everything! The banter between Jameson and Slade made me laugh so hard! Throw in the spice between all of them and it was top tier! There was romance, spice, suspense, and a murder mystery! I was entertained until the last page and had to keep reading to find out what happened! I don't want to spoil too much because I feel if you go in blind to this book it is fun to try to figure out the murder mystery yourself!

Rain Evans is the ME with a crush on Detective Slade. After Rain connects 5 murder victims to one killer, the FBI is called in. SSA Jameson formerly worked with Rain when they were both getting their careers off the ground in Nashville. He knew she was married but was drawn to her anyway. They always had a special connection. Now, Rain, Slade, and Jameson are working together. Rain, now single, is drawn to both men but doesn’t want to shake things up. Due to circumstances, things do get shaken up and not one but BOTH men want her. Who does she choose? Or…does she have to choose?
Kennedy Mitchell beautifully seams mystery and romance together in Mine To Share. In other mystery/romance novels, I feel like the mystery is secondary to the romance. In Mine To Share, it’s equal parts mystery and romance and it’s amazing! The mystery and suspense kept me turning the pages but so did the romance! Rain, Jameson, and Slade aren’t just looking for an extra person in bed, they are looking to have a relationship for the three of them. The men both love Rain and have different qualities to offer. Both men believe that together, they can be everything that Rain deserves. Rain cannot believe her luck when both men admit to wanting her in their beds and in a relationship. The buildup of the relationship is almost as good as the relationship itself. That spice y’all…it’s HOT! I love how Mitchell explained the relationship, how it worked, and where the boundaries were. One of the things I love about reading is learning about new things. Learning about how a relationship between three people works was new and interesting to me.
The mystery made me feel like I was watching a detective show (specifically Criminal Minds). The process of walking through the crime scene, gathering evidence, creating the profile made me feel like I was part of the action. It’s initially what brought these three people together. Their dedication to the case also brings out how smart and deductive these characters are which adds depth to all the characters.
Kennedy Mitchell is a new to me author but I will be reading her backlist and anticipating her new novels!

Spice Level: 3.5/5🌶️

I’m currently obsessed with why-choose romance, so naturally I was over-the-moon excited to read Kennedy L. Mitchell’s latest addition to her Protection Series! Mine to Share is an amazing law enforcement, forced proximity, pining hero(es) romance with two dream-worthy MMCs and a loveable, quirky FMC. FBI profiler Jameson Bend is looking for love, but hasn’t found the right partners to spend his life with. Jameson’s longtime crush, Dr. Rain Evans, is the Medical Examiner and resident spooky bish at the SCPD. After escaping an abusive marriage, Rain has established herself as a brilliant M.E. and is looking to get back in the dating scene. Detective Slade Taylor has been through the wringer physically and romantically. The retired football player turned police officer/detective has taken more than his share of hits. But none as painful as his self-imposed distance from the beguiling, young M.E. When a past connection surfaces between the handsome young profiler and the adorkable woman of Slade’s dreams, a little nudge inspires Slade to reach for more than he’d ever hoped for. Jameson, Rain, and Slade are a perfectly balanced throuple. Jameson is the charismatic, amiable agent with smolder for days. Slade is the curmudgeonly old(er) detective whose self-worth needs resuscitation. Rain is the shy, sunshiney, quick-witted, alluring woman who has both of these hulking hotties tongue-tied. I loved that Kennedy established Jameson and Slade’s easy camaraderie right off the bat. Witty banter and dirty-tongued heroes are my catnip and Mine to Share is rife with both! This happy triangle is hotter than hot and my heart turned to mush with Jameson’s happily ever after. If you like suspenseful, grumpy/sunshine, protector romance with extra spice and swoon, grab Mine to Share! Side note: on my list of “things I love that Kennedy L. Mitchell has ruined for me” I had nothing to add from this book!

“Being strong doesn’t mean handling it all on your own. Sometimes it means giving up control enough to allow others to help.”

Mine To Share is a great, emotionally driven romantic suspense story with compelling characters and an engaging mystery. Jameson, Rain, and Slade are perfection together and I loved watching them work together to solve the identity of the serial killer while delving into the surprising attraction between them.

“You, Rain Evans, are uniquely wonderful, and there will never be a moment where you could disappoint me.”

Rain was adorably awkward and quirky and I loved how both Jameson and Slade treasured her for how she was different. Jameson is such a sweet soul who truly understood what Rain wanted and needed even before she did. He truly saw her and gave her the courage to better her life. I loved that. And Slade was such grouchy, cinnamon roll goodness. I loved his protectiveness and how he made Rain feel safe.

“These two knew me. Knew my quirks, saw me for more than my body. They respected me and wanted me.”

The relationship between these three worked so well because they each brought something to it. Slade and Jameson together completed Rain and gave her the emotional support that she needed. This also left both of them fulfilled. Plus the chemistry was off the charts explosive.

I love how this author can weave a believable romance story with an exciting and thrilling mystery. The suspense adds another dimension to the story and gives it a dangerous edge that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Mine To Share was another great addition to the Protector series and I’m excited for the next story in this series.

Suspenseful and Steamy

Mine To Share is a page turning, suspenseful, and steamy MFM romance that will leave you breathless. Gripping storyline and likable characters, it is the perfect combination of what I like in a romantic suspense.
Medical Examiner Rain Evans, speaks to the dead. Not in a psychic way but it’s her way to see the unseen. Smart, beautiful, and socially awkward (this is her opinion of herself), she embraces who she is.
Jameson Bend is an FBI Profiler who is married to his job. This is his first solo case. If you have read Mine To Love, you have met Jameson in Talon and Remy’s story. He doubts himself when he cannot nail down a suspect profile. He and Rain have known each other for years but life was different back then even though he still thought about her.
Detective Slade Taylor works for the Santa Coasta PD. Twice divorced, he knows he cannot offer a woman a full committed relationship. He’s a protector through and through but doesn’t seem to maintain the emotional attributes to maintain a committed relationship.
Working a case together, Rain, Jameson, and Slade form a true relationship in which each person has their own role. The case tests their knowledge and you can expect the unexpected not only from the case but on a personal level as well. Another plus is the chemistry between them. Some scenes are definitely NSFW. The personal and professional growth of the characters mixed with a suspenseful plot makes Mine To Save the perfect read which I highly recommend.

A couple of side notes. There are issues in the story that could be a trigger for some. I also highly recommend reading the series in order but it is not necessary as each book is a standalone.

This is a suspenseful menage romance focused on Rain, the Medical Examiner who connects a string of serial killings, and the two hot cops in her life. She’s had a crush on Slade Taylor for a long time, but the cranky detective clearly isn’t interested, so she does her best to ignore her feelings. Jameson Bend is the sexy FBI agent who’s here to help and they have some history. Namely, he was the friend she needed at a dark time in her life but that’s all they could be, since she was married at the time. She’s not married anymore though.

I really enjoyed these characters and the way the story came together, including the mystery. Slade and Jameson were perfect for Rain and they were exactly what the lonely divorcee needed. Menage isn’t my favorite but I love the way the author set it up here and the guys ended up becoming friends, which they both needed as well. I thought I knew who the killer was pretty early on, but I wasn’t positive until much later and enjoyed the way the clues played out.

There was a nice balance of heart and heat with the right amount of suspense to make it interesting but not drown out the romance. This was my first book by the author but certainly won’t be the last, as I really liked the characters and their story.

Okay so hear me out… I think Jameson might be onto something when it comes to understanding what he has on offer when it comes to his job vs his relationships, especially with how he likes to let someone else make the decisions - which Slade is perfectly capable of. Trust me you’ll see 😏

“𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠. 𝘼𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨.”

That statement pulled me right in because I was ridiculously swooning over his words for the team up action to come, but also throughly considering what he said at the same time, and I’m not gonna lie the fact he’s so aware of what he can’t give, and understands it’s not enough, so he wants assistance to give that 100%… was oddly sweet, for me at least.

Two halves make a whole, right. That’s just simple maths 😉 I can be on-board with that.

“𝘽𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙚, 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙨.”

This book intrigued the hell out of me, between the investigation antics and the relationship situation needing to be figured out, my mind was invested, I needed to know more. I needed to know everything. It’s the first book I’ve read from the series but I can understand why those who have read the others were anticipating this one. How could you not…

“𝙉𝙤𝙬, 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙖 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚. 𝙄’𝙢 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙪𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩.”
