Welcome to the #NABJ24 Salute to Excellence Awards Nomination Portal

The NABJ Salute to Excellence Awards Nominations Portal is now open to all media organizations and individuals involved in print, broadcast and/or online journalism and other media until midnight (PT) on Thursday, February 15, 2024. This deadline will not be extended.

Submissions must cover people or issues of the African/African American Diaspora. Entries will be judged on content, creativity, innovation, use of the medium and relevance to the Black community in more than 100 categories. Solo practitioners, agencies of all sizes, large and small businesses, corporations, media outlets, nonprofits, associations and government agencies are all encouraged to apply. You do not have to be an NABJ member to submit a nomination.

Please note that during the nomination submission process, you will be asked to upload a promo video highlighting the work that is no longer than 15-seconds. If you are selected as a winner, NABJ will show this video during the 2024 NABJ Awards Ceremony. Please note that the promo video should be a snippet of the nominated work that has been entered. It is not a promo of a show. If you do not upload a promo video and you are selected as a winner, NABJ will highlight the entry details with no video.

Only work originally published or broadcast during the judging period of January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023 is eligible for consideration. Entries can be submitted in only one (1) category. The fee for Collegiate entries is $20 for NABJ student members and $45 for non-student members per entry. The fee for Professional entries is $75 for NABJ members and $150 for non-members per entry. Links (i.e. videos) must not require a password or be behind a paywall.  Links (i.e. videos) also must remain active until January 31, 2025.

NABJ’s Salute to Excellence Judges reserve the right to reassign entries to a different category.
