NABJ A&E Task Force COVID-19 Hardship Grant
Dear NABJ members,
These are tough times. Like many industries, media companies are still impacted by the impact of the COVID-19 crisis. Journalists have continued to be laid off, furloughed or taken pay cuts.
NABJ members have not been spared. We know some of you need help paying rent, car notes, student loans, etc. We want to help.
That is why we are encouraging people and organizations to help us help our members. Thanks to the generosity of some donors we are able to provide at least some relief. We realize it may not resolve most of your financial issues, but we are hoping it will help buy a little time until circumstances improve.
Please help us help you by carefully filling out the application below.

NABJ Relief Fund Assistance Application
ALL REQUESTED/REQUIRED INFORMATION MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH THIS APPLICATION OR THE APPLICATION WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FOR CONSIDERATION.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SUBMISSION PACKAGE IS COMPLETE IN “ONE” SUBMISSION. PARTIALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The National Association of Black Journalists in conjunction with this NABJ Task Force and the NABJ Hardship Relief Committee is offering hardship relief grants to our members who are experiencing financial difficulties or job loss as a result of COVID-19. Members who have not previously received assistance will be given first priority.
Proof of hardship is optional, though it can be very helpful and can be considered by the committee vetting applications. Also, please note that the required summary explaining the hardship is an important significant part of the selection process used by the committee in the vetting process.
Proof of NABJ membership within the last 12 (twelve) months is required. If your membership expired during that 12-month period you are still eligible for assistance. “Proof” consists of you logging into the NABJ membership portal and taking a screenshot or PDF of your membership status that includes the expiration date, name, member number, and type of membership.

*Note: Current members in good standing can receive a six-month membership extension if they are experiencing hardships related to COVID-19 and are up for renewal. Email membership@nabj.org for more info.
