Emily Cooper, MHA, Health Transformation Associate, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Emily Cooper, MHA is currently a Health Transformation Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She works within the health industries practice of PwC, which focuses on helping payors, providers, pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences and MedTech organizations innovate, transform and grow.

Emily received her Masters of Health Administration from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and Bachelor of Art in Medicine, Health, & Society from Vanderbilt University. Emily is extremely passionate about the advancement of black healthcare leaders and the improvement of healthcare access within healthcare delivery systems. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and in her free time, enjoys spending time with family & friends. Emily is super excited about joining NAHSE Baltimore and looks forward to networking and working within the association.

Alexis Fields, DNP, RN, NE-BC, Accreditation, Regulation and Licensing Specialist, Kaiser Permanente, Mid-Atlantic States

Alexis Fields has been a registered nurse for 18 plus years. Her focus for the last 9 years has been primarily in nursing leadership, leading teams and departments in emergency nursing, ambulatory care, and staffing resources. Ms. Fields is also passionate about education. She is currently serving as an adjunct faculty in pre-licensure nursing programs at George Washington University and Towson University.

Ms. Fields is passionate about nursing as a profession. She is also a strong patient advocate always working to enhance the care setting to promote excellent patient care and outcomes. In her current role as an Accreditation, Regulation and Licensing Specialist, she supports teams in regulated and licensed spaces in to standardizing practice, aligning practice with policies and regulations, and maintaining a safe patient care environment.

Ms. Fields received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Delaware. A career change led her to completion of an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Marymount University, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Capella University. She also holds a Nurse Executive–Board Certified certification.

In addition to her professional work, Ms. Fields loves being a mother of school-age children. The family stays very busy with travel, children’s extracurricular activities. Ms. Fields actively volunteers at her children’s school and community events.

Lisa María Mallory, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE)

Lisa is a servant leader focused on expanding the reach and impact of this 55+ year organization, formed for the purpose of promoting the advancement and development of Black health care leaders and elevating the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities.

Lisa was formerly CEO of the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA), where she led the real estate development trade association to reaching its highest membership and engagement levels since its inception. She also led the DCBIA Foundation.

Lisa previously had a Mayoral appointment as a member of the Cabinet to lead the DC Department of Employment Services (the city’s labor department), with responsibility for overhauling one of the most troubled agencies netting millions of dollars in savings; increasing customer service; and dramatically decreasing the unemployment rate in Washington, DC.

Lisa was Senior Vice President at ICF International and prior Senior Vice President at the Fannie Mae Foundation. She served the Clinton White House as a member of the Senior Executive Service as Chief of Staff to Vice President Al Gore’s National Performance Review, Special Assistant at the US Department of Health and Human Services and Counselor at the Social Security Administration and has worked for the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee and several federal Independent Counsels.

Lisa obtained a BS in Business and Technology from the University of Maryland University College, MBA in International Business/Marketing from the George Washington University and PhD in Leadership from Walden University. She also completed doctoral coursework at George Mason University. Lisa has completed numerous senior leadership programs at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and Kennedy School of Business and was trained by the Coaches Training Institute and is a Linkage Inc. a SHRM company, certified Master Coach of Leaders.

Lisa is a member of Leadership Greater Washington (Class of 2007), the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Association of Latino Health Executives, the National Association of Health Services Executives and serves on the board of Leadership Greater Washington, the District of Columbia Hospital Association, Goodwill of Greater Washington and Goodwill Excel Charter School.

Why this event

Member Moment is a virtual engagement opportunity for chapter members to meet and connect. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected professionals and their ability to network and we must innovate and adjust. In efforts to support the local health services community and empower [student, early careerist, mid-level manager to executive] members, Member Moment will offer a forum to feature and connect chapter members and learn of different health administration, care and services positions and career paths.

Registration is required and open to NAHSE chapter members and invited guests. Invited guests are required to register and list a NAHSE Baltimore chapter member to receive the event link and join. Registration closes at 10:00 AM the day of the event. Email questions to nahsebaltimore@gmail.com.
