OCA Board Meetings Expectations

Take place every other month throughout the school year
Typically five total meetings per school year
Are held in-person only
Most often held at Oakland Schools
AM meetings are generally from 8:00-11:00am and PM meetings are from 12:00-3:00pm
Board members are expected to prioritize attendance at all board meetings
A board meeting calendar is established at the final board meeting of the year

OCA PD Event Expectations

Each board member shares leadership for at least one professional development event each school year
For each event, typically 2-3 board members will share in the organization and implementation
Event leadership entails attending the event to help with sign-in and logistics, corresponding with presenters, organizing food and venue (for in-person events), helping to host in Zoom (for virtual events), and communicating information for SCECH application and registration purposes

Based on the professional development event expectations above, do you anticipate being able to commit to sharing in the planning and execution of at least one OCA event during the 2023-2024 school year? *

OCA Newsletter Expectations

OCA delivers four newsletters to membership throughout the school year (quarterly)
Each board member signs up to contribute to at least one newsletter
This contribution entails writing an article or showcasing a resource for the OCA membership
