Solo-Communal (Virtual) Erotic Embodiment Practice

Also known as Orgasmic Yoga & OYoga

Introducing the Solo-Communal Class: gentle guidance for erotic self-pleasure. Classes are held monthly, join us for one or come to all!

Connect to your solo-erotic practice in a loosely guided, communal space. Free from outside stimuli, like porn and fantasy (though we absolutely love those!), explore your body, sensation, and pleasure from head to toe with no rush or agenda.

In this space, folks have connected to their bodies, explored pleasure and eroticism outside of a reciprocal, partnered experience; following illness or surgery; and as they move through the processes of healing and/or aging.

What if you could start a practice that incorporates mindful breath, movement, sound, and intentional erotic exploration?

Even if committing to a daily practice sounds daunting could you invest time in your self-pleasure, in adding to your erotic menu for about one hour a month?

Join us as we take time for this Erotic Embodiment Practice (also known as Orgasmic Yoga or OYoga). In this gently and loosely guided practice we will explore breath, presence, noticing, and in-the-moment desires. There is no agenda, no rush, and no judgement in this sex positive and body positive space.

Explore pleasure-filled self-care!

Living in such a fast-paced world, you rarely get to prioritize your self-care.
You hardly ever take time to pause, let alone to breathe consciously.
When it comes to self-pleasure, more often than not, you slip into your tried and true patterns of what gets you off the quickest.
And now, in such a strange time, you may be unsure how to stay connected to your erotic self.
You may need a bit of support for slowing down and reconnecting with your body…
your presence…
and your pleasure.
In this gently and loosely guided practice we will weave in breath, movement, sound, and touch with presence, noticing, and in-the-moment desires, and yes, self-pleasuring.

There is no agenda, no rush, and no judgement in this sex positive and body positive space.

→ ALL bodies, genders, and presentations are welcome.

→ Nudity is welcome but not required. Cameras will only focus on the Instructor/Facilitators, not participants.

→ There is a range of ways to participate; folks can be fully clothed, simply breathing and doing kegels, or fully nude for the practice (or anywhere in between).

Are you feeling stuck in your self-pleasure practice?
Would you like to integrate ALL of your body into your mindfulness practice?
Are you ready to explore your erotic potential?

The time begins with an opening chat. Introductions, sharing what has brought us into this space, what has piqued our interest to join a virtual erotic practice.

The instructor will then talk about the Orgasmic Yoga practice, its history, some examples of what we might wish to incorporate, boundaries of this particular practice, a quick demonstration of some types of breaths.

As we transition into getting ready for the practice itself, we will be invited to do a body scan. The practice then commences for 45 minutes (followed by 5 minutes of silent savoring) during which participants can practice in whatever way feels right to them. Suggestions, invitations, reminders, and offerings to check in on breath, body, movement, etc. will be peppered in throughout. There will be a “two song warning” signalling that the time is winding down. As the playlist ends, we will go right into a silent savoring period of 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes are up, we will again be invited to share a quick body scan.

Then, we might pause for a few minutes as needed to collect ourselves, to come back and share how the practice went, opening up for reflections, comments, and generally sharing our experiences.

“Attending this practice has been extremely healing in undoing harmful constructs around myself as a sexual being. Orgasmic Yoga has helped make space for exploring new avenues of what it means to be a sexual person, and I have come away more in touch with my body and my sexuality.”

“OY to me is a paradox: a moment simultaneously private and shared. I enjoyed the rare privilege of being welcome to express myself as a person as completely as I wished in a relaxed, caring, non-judgmental environment. In this way it can be healing.”
Having facilitated dozens of in person OYoga circles, I can honestly say I love this practice.

I learn something every time I practice and every time I facilitate. Even having all these tools knowing about breath and presence and movement, I am still human and I also go back to my “tried and true.”

Having the time set aside and scheduled is such a treat, a luxury. Forty-five minutes to just show up, to explore, to connect and ground myself, to see what I want. Is it always erotic and orgasmic? No. But it is time that allows us to discover and play with some level of accountability in the community.

A self-pleasure promise…

I cannot guarantee mind-blowing, explosive orgasms in this particular practice or going forward, however, I promise you will walk away from it with some tools and suggestions you can incorporate into your self-pleasure.

I acknowledge that not every masturbation session can be 45 minutes long, nor do they need to be. The elements folded into this particular session can be taken and used or adapted in self-pleasure sessions of all kinds, and beyond, even in less erotic spaces.

“The benefit of this practice is setting aside the full length of time to be grateful, to love ourselves, and being guided with periodic reminders to do things like savoring our breath. To let ourselves sink into the experience.”

—Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll and a Tiara by Beverly Diehl

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this class designed for?

Erotic explorers of all genders, orientations, presentations, abilities, and body types who are 21+. Folks who are partnered or unpartnered. Folks who have a more consistent self-pleasure practice and want a little loose guidance. Folks who do not have much of a self-pleasure practice, and would like ideas on how to start developing one.

Who will be in the group?

The group will probably be mixed age, mixed gender, mixed sexual orientation. It’s my best guess that most folks will be between 20-60. The group is explicitly welcoming to folks who are queer, women and femmes, older, fat, disabled, single, POC, or in any way marginalized. No bullshit will be tolerated. If you aren’t cool being in a group with any of these, please don’t apply.

What is the long-term benefit of this training?

The tools in this practice are ones I fold into many aspects of my day, even outside of explicitly erotic moments. As you practice over time both solo and within the group setting, you will be able to more easily sink in to mindful breath, presence, noticing, and conscious erotic exploration.

I’m in Indiana/Australia/Buenos Aires: can I participate?

Yes! All you need is an internet connection and a webcam!

What kind of environment do you create?

I try very hard to make this a welcoming and inviting space for all who attend. It is my intention to hold space for everyone regardless of where they are in their erotic journeys. This is a big reason for why there is a huge range of how one can participate in the practice.

How is this similar to or different from a circle jerk/masturbation circle?

That is a great question! On the surface both OYoga and a masturbation circle might look similar because folks might be touching their bits and orgasms might happen. OYoga however, is much more about FULL body exploration. Everyone can participate at their comfort level – from fully clothed, simply breathing along all the way to fully nude and even using sex toys. I never tell student to touch their bits or how.

Another way that OYoga is different from a circle jerk is that the focus is more on our individual practice within the communal space. The objective is not to take or use or steal any other person’s energy. While we certainly may be influenced and aroused by others in the space (auditorily and possibly visually), that is not the point. Each of us are here for our own exploration and the group is supporting each other’s process.

What if I’m not great at yoga/not very athletic/not flexible?

That’s totally okay! The “Yoga” in the title is a little bit of a misnomer. In this case we mean yoga in a broader sense in which we are doing a practice that encourages breath, movement, sound, touch, presence, and awareness. I never tell participants to do downward dogs or anything like that.

As long as you have some space, whether on the floor, or a bed, to move around, to potentially get up to move or dance that’s basically all you need!
