New Public Golf Course Coming to Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club this November
As of October 1, the City will assume operations, management, and ownership of the club 
Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club, formerly known as the Boca Country Club. All facilities and amenities will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED beginning October 1 while the City evaluates and plans for necessary repairs and renovations.

Golf operations at the BRGRC are expected to open at the beginning of November. The City's Municipal Golf Course will close October 17 for the transition.

City Council Approves 2021-2022 Final Budget
Council approved the 2021-2022 Budget and Capital Improvements Program at the Final Budget Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. For FY 21-22, the citywide combined uses of funds including operations, transfers and fund balances/reserves total $1,004,135,600. The citywide total operating budget is $559,381,100 and the proposed General Fund operating portion of the budget is $204,188,600.

The approved total millage rate for FY 21-22 is 3.6785 which is slightly lower than the FY 20-21 rate. Additionally, there is no proposed increase for the annual fire assessment fee for FY 21-22. Learn more on the City website.

The City has launched a new communications initiative aimed at building a stronger, more unified connection with residents, visitors and businesses with new communication platforms and a new website.

We are encouraging our community to REDISCOVER BOCA RATON and further engage, connect and enjoy the City you all know and love.

New communication platforms include:
  • A NEW Website Refresh with more modern, sleek and improved features with a new website symbol that links Boca Raton's past with its future.
  • NEW My Boca App with user-friendly interface provides a faster, at-your-fingertips tool to instantly report a concern to the City, see a real time map of all reported concerns, check beach conditions, pay your water bill, and discover things to do in Boca Raton.
  • NEW Civic Ready Texting Service to keep residents better informed via text messaging. The mass notification system can quickly reach residents with alerts for City services, road closures, special events and more.

Events Start Back at Mizner Park Amphitheater this October
Events are back at Mizner Park Amphitheater just in time for Halloween! The Boca Raton Pumpkin Patch Festival returns on Saturday, October 30 and Sunday, October 31, 10am - 6pm (tickets $25 each). Pick out the perfect pumpkin, enjoy instagrammable photo ops, and go on rides during a fun day for the whole family.

New Streetlight Fixtures Installed Around Downtown Boca
New energy efficient streetlight fixtures are being installed in and around the Downtown Boca/CRA district. The new fixtures will replace the current 30-year-old fixtures. Utilizing more energy efficient LED bulbs, the fixtures are more environmentally friendly and cast a brighter white light that better illuminates pedestrian areas below. Please take notice of the updated sanitation schedule for Columbus Day, as your collection day may change:

City offices closed and no sanitation service on Monday, October 11.

  • Monday, October 11 collection will be a day LATER on Tuesday, October 12.
  • Tuesday, October 12 collection will be a day LATER on Wednesday, October 13.

Applications for participation in the Holiday Street Parade and Boat Parade are now available. Application deadline is November 1.
2021-2022 Permits Now Available
Permits for the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year are now on sale. Purchase or renew your beach, Mizner Bark Dog Park or Bark Beach permits online, or get them at a City facility.

Please review necessary documentation and criteria to apply.

Please Note: New boat launch and recovery permits and all-inclusive permits (beach/boat/dog) will not be issued until construction is complete and the boat ramp reopens at Silver Palm Park. Learn more about the project.

The Racquet Center Wins USTA Award
The Racquet Center in Boca Raton has been awarded a 2021 Outstanding Facility Award from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in the category of Public Courts: Large Tennis Center (11 or more courts). The annual award recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities in three categories: public courts, private facilities, and educational institutions. Learn more on the City website.

Have a Scarily Sustainable Halloween
The City is partnering with Loggerhead Marine Life Center on their Unwrap the Wave campaign. In 2019, Unwrap the Wave collected 272,595 candy wrappers and fully recycled them into school supplies.

Participate by collecting your (clean) candy wrappers and bringing them to drop-off sites around the City -- Gumbo Limbo Nature Center and City community centers from late October to November 7. Learn more on the Take Action webpage.
Celebrate Arbor Day in the Gardens!
The City is celebrating its 42nd year as a Tree City USA! Join us on October 16 for two tree giveaway events with Community Greening:

  • 11am - 12pm: The Boca Raton Community Garden (Meadows Park, 1300 NW 8th St) - This event is being held in conjunction with the ceremonial ribbon cutting of the new Boca Raton Community Garden, which the public is invited to attend.
  • 3pm - 5pm: Pearl City Community Garden (190 NE 12th St)
