2023 PLAN Trial Skills Training for New Attorneys
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This registration is specifically for the Trial Skills Training taking place on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
The Trial Skills Training is a one-day interactive training hosted by PLAN and presented by experienced volunteer faculty. The training is designed for newer PLAN attorneys and features a combination of lectures and small group workshops. The primary goal of this training is to assist public interest attorneys in honing their trial advocacy skills.
The training will revolve around a hypothetical family law case, and participants will receive homework assignments in advance. Participants will be expected to direct and cross examine witnesses, prepare for opening and closing statements and enter exhibits.
PARTICIPATION CRITERIA:
Space for this training is limited to 24 participants and priority will be given to less experienced PLAN Attorneys.
Registration is free and limited to staff of the following PA Legal Aid Network (PLAN) programs: CJP, CLS, JAW, LASP, MPLS, NLSA, NPLS, NWLS, PHLP, PILP, PLA, PULP, RHLS and SLA. Registration includes breakfast and lunch on the day of the training.

CLE CREDITS:
This training is approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for a maximum of 7.0 hours of CLE credit substantive law, practice and procedure.
HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS:
PLAN has reserved a block of hotel rooms that includes the nights of Tuesday 9/12, Wednesday 9/13, and Thursday 9/14 at a special conference rate of $149 per night (taxes and parking additional.)
ALL OVERNIGHT ARRANGEMENTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ATTENDEE AND/OR THEIR PROGRAMS. Details on how to reserve your overnight rooms are included on the registration page as well as your confirmation email. All rooms are first come, first served, and PLAN cannot guarantee availability of rooms. The Hilton Harrisburg is a non-smoking hotel.
