pUUget Sound Youth Con Registration Form
Welcome!

Youth cons are weekend-long gatherings of UU high school students from many churches in the area. During a con, you’ll meet new people, play games, be silly, have good food, learn new things from each other in workshops, maybe participate in a talent (or no-talent) show, have a candlelit worship at night where you would connect on a deeper level with your new friends, often stay up super late (though you don’t have to), and generally create a temporary “UUtopian” society! Youth from about ten churches will have full run of the church the entire time!

Everyone will be there … including YOU. At least we really hope you will; the more people that go, the more fun it will be! Follow this link for more information about the event and to register by February 16

In order to attend this event, you must be a high school age-youth, affiliated with a U.U. congregation. You do not have to attend this event with a chaperone from your congregation. We have adult chaperone’s onsite from local congregations to staff the event.

Our goal is to create an intentionally safe faith community for youth that provides opportunities for worship, social justice, education, leadership development, and community building while maintaining respect for others, the site, and the environment. Your ongoing communication and commitment help to ensure this is happening.

If you have any questions or concerns ahead of or during the event, please contact Shoreline DRE Chris Pollina at shorelinedre@gmail.com or 206 240 5500

PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES YOUTH/CHAPERONE:

Covenant: As a a community, we all agree to act in ways that are best for the ourselves, one another, and the whole. Coming to our overnight means you support our UU values and covenant of love, respect, inherent worth, justice, and anti-oppression.

Rules: Whereas the Covenant is about how we are in relationship to our values, our rules are community agreement we make before entering youth space, for health and safety reasons:

● No substance use, including smoking, vaping, alcohol, energy drinks, drugs illegal to youth, or drug paraphernalia. This includes adults, even if something’s legal for them.

● No sexual behavior, intimate behavior, or public nudity. This includes intercourse and outercourse, and any touch/activity meant to arouse.

● No violence or threats of violence, no weapons or explosives

● One body, one sleeping bag, one mattress. You may be in cuddle puddles in public hangout areas only.

Keep medication in original prescription packaging and give it to registrar on arrival.

Everyone is expected to attend programming. If you need to step away briefly for self-care, please let an adult know.

● Stay on site and within boundaries. Certain areas or facilities will be off limits.
