A Zoom lunch & learn leadership series

Session 1: Monday, November 22, noon to 1:30 pm: We'll explore the roots of racism in ourselves and in America; study how racism manifests in our lives and culture through ads, movie clips, and spoken word; and learn skills to unmask and dismantle racism.

Session 2: Monday, December 6, noon to 1:30 pm: We'll investigate where racism shows up in our own lives and institutions.

Session 3: Friday, December 17, noon to 1:30 pm: We'll create an action plan for unmasking and dismantling racism in our own contexts.

Our sessions will be facilitated by Kari Nicewander, Senior Minister of Hartford's Immanuel Congregational Church, United Church of Christ.

About the Facilitator: Senior Minister Kari Nicewander of Immanuel Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in Hartford is a racial justice facilitator for the UCC’s Southern New England Conference and chairs the Greater Hartford Interfaith Action Alliance's Education Committee, focusing on racial equity in education. She has worked on issues of racial justice, poverty, LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS, and gender equality in domestic and international contexts, including in Africa and Latin America.
