Dear Representative Meadows:

Recent events have made it clear that we need to protect and strengthen our democracy, which faces threats both internal and external. Therefore, my New Year’s Resolution for 2019 is that YOU, my Congressional Representative, will actively support H.R. 1, the Democracy Reform Act, especially these Voter Empowerment and Access parts of the bill:

1. Creating fair Congressional representation through independent redistricting commissions, without gerrymandering by either party.
2. Restoring the Voting Rights Act.
3. Encouraging automatic and same-day voter registration, and providing adequate early voting opportunities.
4. Securing our election systems, such as but not limited to voting machines.

This is  an opportunity for bipartisan cooperation that will protect our democracy, strengthen our voting processes and restore faith in our election results.
