Alice Wallace + the HawtThorns at JAX
Alice Wallace
Wallace is a spectacular songwriter as well as a singer who can deliver lyrics in a powerful way - with minimal effort. Her full band raises a ruckus, and there is always a dance floor for her shows at Campus JAX.
The HawtThorns
An Americana band whose sun-kissed songwriting, versatile guitar work and lush vocal harmonies evoke the California coastline as much as the Bible Belt countryside.
The HawtThorns are rooted in the collaborative chemistry of husband-and-wife duo KP and Johnny Hawthorn.
Enjoy a full dinner menu, free parking and 18+ seating.

Now in its third year, The BASH returns - and we can barely fit all the talent onto two stages! With three days of dance bands, dozens of vendors, burlesque and a pinup contest, it is truly a Swingin' Rockabilly Weekender.
The Hyatt Regency OC near Disney is the host hotel, and the dates are June 21-23.
Friday features a Battle of the Dance Bands on the LayRite Deluxe Stage, featuring The Moontones plus Lil' Mo & The DynaCrows all onstage together, trading licks and vying for the title. Also Friday, Abby Girl & The Real Deal and the renowned Pachuco José! It's all set up by Sailor Mike spinning tunes at 5 pm. PLUS - the Marvelous Mavens host a special Meet & Greet with the pin-up contestants at 6:30 pm near the Stellar JAX room.
Saturday has James Intveld's Rockabilly Revue plus the Bellfuries return to Orange County, Carl Sonny Leyland & His Boogie Woogie Boys, Vicky Tafoya and the Big Beat and surprises like the Queen of the BASH Pinup Contest and Burlesque performers until late at night on the LayRite Deluxe Stage. FLASH: We have added Al Dual from Spain, and also Idun Carling & Her Swingin' Swedes from Scandinavia, to the Saturday line-up.
On the Players Vodka Stage, you'll see the Brian Hogan band and also Shy But Flyy, plenty of burlesque artists, pin-up cuties and much more, all DJ'd by Dr. Nate!
On Sunday's LayRite Deluxe Stage is the high-energy dance band Phat Cat Swinger, with its 10-piece swing band featuring horns and bandleader Marco Palos. Dave Stuckey's Hot House Gang performs for their legions of dancers, and Mercedes Moore brings her sassy humor along with her crack R&B band.
Sunday's Players Vodka Stage features a Battle of the Rockabilly DJs with DJs playing the best in dance music Noon - 5 pm. It's our Record Hop and DJs Jump Blues Richard, Stitchcat, and others compete for your tips to determine the winner.
Our vendor-ville is open to the public all weekend right off the lobby of the Hyatt.
Over the weekend you will enjoy many top DJs including Tom Ingram, Steve Sayer, Sailor Mike, DJ Dr. Nate, Johnny Lawless and AristoCat & Cruz.
Our Mistress of Ceremonies Saturday & Sunday is the delightful Mercedes Moore!
You can reserve a Hyatt room for just $195 per night while they last. (888-591-1234 / group code FSWG)
This is a spectacular weekend for dancers, music lovers and vintage lifestyle fans.
Rod Piazza: Return of the Mighty Flyers
For some time now, the Mighty Flyers have been on a hiatus from performing. That is just about to change!
Rod Piazza's harmonica technique borders on astonishing - a delicate combination of power and grace that maintains the fattest of tones while alternately evoking classic Chicago styles, interpreting R&B horn lines, or playing his own signature licks.
At this point in his career, Piazza has been recording longer than George "Harmonica" Smith, or Sonny Boy Williamson, or Big Walter Horton. He's been making records for more years than Little Walter was alive.
Piazza is also a master of West Coast jump blues, incorporating elements of Los Angeles' postwar jazz, swing and R&B combos.
The Mighty Flyers' commanding performances showcase Rod's searing harmonica, his impassioned vocals and his showmanship, punctuated by the two-fisted boogies of pianist Miss Honey Piazza, a highly acclaimed musician in her own right. But any Mighty Flyers show is more than just a harp showcase; it's a group effort by tightly-knit elite musicians whose considerable talents complement one another.
Joining the show is the Dennis Gruenling Band, the perfect way to get ready for a Piazza performance.
From his love of Jump Blues, Swing and early Rock & Roll, multi-award winner Dennis Gruenling plays the mouthharp with an approach and sound reminiscent of swing and R&B saxophone players from the 1940s & 50s.
Campus JAX is a fine supper club with a great menu at your table - and the best sound around.
