A self-described research junkie, she has transformed her interest in police procedure and criminal minds into a streak of internationally acclaimed novels, published across 30 countries. She’s also had four books become TV movies and has made personal appearances on TruTV and CNN. Lisa lives in New Hampshire where she spends her time with an assortment of canine companions. When not writing, she loves to hike, garden, snowshoe and play cribbage.

Still See You Everywhere, March 12, 2024

Frankie Elkin is an expert at finding the missing persons that the rest of the world has forgotten, but even she couldn’t have anticipated this latest request—to locate the long-lost sister of a female serial killer facing execution in three weeks’ time. Twelve years ago, Kaylee Pierson’s five-year-old sister Leilani went missing in Hawaii. The main suspect? Pierson’s tech mogul ex-boyfriend, Sanders MacManus.

Pierson confessed from the very beginning, waived all appeals. Despite knowing of her rough childhood, no one could find sympathy for “the Beautiful Butcher” who had led eighteen men home from bars before slitting their throats.

The Beautiful Butcher offers Frankie this: When was the last time your search ended with finding the living?

As for Frankie’s favorite snack and drink: she’s a recovering alcoholic so she drinks water. When it comes to food and snacks, she goes from place to place, so she doesn’t really have a favorite—but since this is her first time visiting Hawaii, she happily ate tuna poke, macadamia nuts, and airline peanuts.

Robert Dugoni is the award-winning, critically acclaimed New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and #1 Amazon bestselling author, reaching over 9 million readers worldwide. His books are sold in more than twenty-five countries and have been translated into more than thirty languages. Several of his novels have been optioned for movies and television series. Bob is originally from California and practiced law in San Francisco for 13 years. Then he moved to Seattle, switched his legal hours to part time and worked away, getting a lot of rejection letters but never giving up.

A Killing on the Hill, April 9, 2024

Seattle, 1933. The city is in the grips of the Great Depression, Prohibition, and vice. There’s been a murder at a social club on Profanity Hill―an underworld magnet for vice crimes only a privileged few can afford. The story is going to be front-page news, and ambitious young reporter William “Shoe” Shumacher is the first reporter on the scene. But the more Shoe digs, the more he’s convinced nothing is as it seems.

In a city steeped in Old West debauchery, Shoe’s following every lead to a very dangerous place―one that could bring him glory and fame or end his life.

Bob’s favorite drink is an old-fashioned, but his character William Shoemacher has a coffee and a cinnamon raisin Danish every morning from the Giovacchini Bakery, and his all-time favorite is a margarita pizza. Recipe below!

New York Times bestselling author of mystery novels and seven non-fiction books, Anne Hillerman took over her father Tony’s characters after his death. When she was young, grownups would ask if she wanted to be a writer like her father. She’d lie and say no, but now admits that secretly, she did. When she’s not working, Anne likes to read, cook, ski and travel. She lives in Santa Fe and Tucson with frequent trips to the Navajo Nation.

Lost Birds, April 23, 2024

Joe Leaphorn may be long retired from the Navajo Tribal Police, but his detective skills are honed by his work as a private detective. His experience will be essential to find the birth parents of a woman who believes she is Diné based on an old photograph with a classic Navajo child’s blanket. Leaphorn’s quest takes him diving into native adoption, a mysterious school explosion, weaving, music, a missing woman, and a desperate race against a speeding train. Investigation of the explosion falls in part to Officer Bernadette Manuelito, who discovers an unexpected link to Joe’s case. True to their nature, both cop and PI are determined to find the truth even as the situation grows dangerous.

As for their favorite snacks and drinks: For years, Bernadette Manuelito enjoyed Cokes as her go-to beverage, followed by coffee with sugar. However, after so many lectures about the evils of sugar, she’s trying to limit herself to just one (or maybe two) Cokes a day and is experimenting with black coffee. Bernie is not a snacker, but she’ll eat Mama’s mutton stew whenever she can get it.

Carter Wilson is the USA Today bestselling author of nine critically acclaimed, standalone psychological thrillers, as well as numerous short stories. He is an ITW Thriller Award finalist, a five-time winner of the Colorado Book Award, and his works have been optioned for television and film. Carter lives in Erie, Colorado in a Victorian house that is spooky but isn’t haunted… yet.

The Father She Went to Find, April 2, 2024

Penny is a savant—one of less than one hundred in the world. But despite her photographic memory and super-powered intellect, there’s one mystery Penny’s never been able to solve: why did her father leave when she was in a coma at age seven, and where is he now?

On Penny’s twenty-first birthday, she receives a card in the mail from him, just as she has every year since he left. But this birthday card is different. For the first time ever, there’s a return address. And a goodbye.

Penny is 21-year-old savant with no culinary skills, and the year is 1987. But in the book Penny goes to Hot Dog on a Stick (remember those?) at a mall and gets a corn dog. Who doesn’t love a corn dog?

Recipes

Reporter William Shoe’s all-time favorite: a simple Margherita pizza straight from the kitchen of Amara Giovacchini’s house.

1. Place a pizza stone in the oven. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F, allowing the stone to get hot.
2. Shape the pizza dough on a floured surface into an 8-inch round, making it 1/4-inch thick. Transfer it to a pizza peel lined with parchment paper. Reshape if necessary.
3. Gently brush the dough with the olive oil, then evenly spread the marinara sauce on, leaving a 1-inch border around the edge. Sprinkle the garlic over the top. Top with the mozzarella slices and tomatoes, leaving space in between.
4. Slide the parchment with the crust onto the heated stone. Bake for 8-10 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.
5. Remove from oven and sprinkle the basil over the top, along with 1-2 grinds of fresh black pepper.
6. Cut into wedges and serve immediately.
