Smith College Library Art Posters

In the fall of 2023 the Smith College Libraries commissioned local artist Aaron Wood to create a series of new artwork featuring four well-known spaces on campus: Neilson Library, Josten Performing Arts Library, Hillyer Art Library, and Alumnae Gymnasium.

For the design concept, Wood drew inspiration from the Works Progress Administration (WPA) posters of the 1930s-40s. This iconic style lends itself to bold colors, clean lines, and a striking visual appearance.

The Libraries have been using the five pieces for cards, bookmarks, stickers and other fun swag, but now the Smith College Museum of Art shop has collaborated with the Libraries to make these beautiful designs available for purchase!

• Paper: bright white, mid-weight cardstock with matte finish
• Packaging: each poster print is in a cellophane sleeve with recycled chipboard added to prevent bending
