Seaside Pointe #2

Copper & Ink

Rate this book
A weekend camping trip with friends unveils their attraction. What will one week expose?

Brynn Harris lives an idyllic life until love deals her a wicked hand. Crushed, she returns to Seaside Pointe and barricades her heart. The plan works well for two years until a weekend spent around her brother’s former college roommate sparks a complicated attraction.

The tattooed and pierced Hayden Fox is nothing like the men from Brynn’s past, but their differences don’t lessen their chemistry, especially when Hayden spends one week in Seaside helping Chloe Lockwood on her flower farm.

Hayden has no plans for a happily ever after he doesn’t think he deserves, but when the tempting redhead shows up for a dinner among friends, desire wages a battle. Soon, the lines between physical and emotional blur. With relationships on the line, Hayden and Brynn must reconcile their damaged pasts. Pasts not yet finished with them.

This is the second installment in a four-book series. While the romance stands alone, the plot is a continuation of events that occurred in book 1: Blossoms & Steel. It is recommended you read the series in order.

If book 1 didn’t pull on your heart strings enough, Copper & Ink sure will.

One feisty but beautiful and strong red head - check!
One tall, dark, irresistibly handsome, tattooed fittie History teacher - check, check, check!

Brynn and Hayden are two of the most beautiful yet complex characters ever written. Both haunted by demons of their past; both fighting for a chance to be set free from the bonds holding them back, and both striving to feel deserving of love and happiness.

Brynn is Kips older sister, who moved back to Seaside two years ago after a bad breakup. She’s fiery, a creative genius, elegant, quick on her comebacks and has a true heart. Honestly, she’s a girl you’d want as your best friend.

Hayden is Kips best friend, and old college roommate. He decides to pay a visit to Seaside to help Chloe out with her new farm… And maybe check out a certain redhead whilst he’s there… He’s charming, tall, dark and deliciously handsome, with a hint of History nerd thrown in too.

Just like book 1, the story is so much more than just the leads. You have a great group of humans around them who just love all their ugly and scars. We get a good glimpse into Chloe and Kips continued story, as well as getting to know characters old and new.

Do we get more of James and Denton’s feud? well, you’ll just have to read it to find that one out 😉

If you loved the first book, then I know without a shadow of doubt, you’ll love this one too! I couldn’t love this book more even if I tried. Their chemistry, their interactions, their passion for one another, I truly fell in love.

Thank you Mindy and Michele for creating yet another beautiful masterpiece!

This is the second book in the series and I think I liked it better than the first. Copper & Ink is sweet, sizzling and so much fun! I love these two characters from the first book and their story did not disappoint. These ladies write fabulous stories and this series is definitely one of my favorites. You can read this alone but I highly recommend reading the first one to get the backstory on these characters. Don’t wait, read it now!

If book 2 is any indication of how this series will go, then buckle up now and prepare yourself. Because COPPER AND INK absolutely blew BLOSSOMS AND STEEL out of the freaking water.

We are still getting zero answers where the Lockwood/Harris feud is concerned. In fact, we end up getting more hints but these authors are giving nothing away. We do get to see the happy couple, Kip and Chloe, that started this series off and things are going well for them.

But Hayden and Brynn are where it’s at this time around. Their story is one that had me reading fast one minute to see what would conspire and then slow the next when I realized I didn’t want their book to be over with so quickly. They had my feels all muddled up for most of the read but in such a beautiful, breathtaking way.

Then there was the heartbreak that tore at me so violently, through no fault of their own. The heartbreak was handed down solely from grief of loss and the resurrection of Brynn’s past. So. Much. Heartache. I wasn’t prepared for what happened near the end. But man, can these ladies lead you to the brink of despair, only to right all those wrongs and lead us back to happily ever after.

Beautifully and brilliantly done, I don’t care if we still have unanswered questions and new revelations that are still leading us no where. I am here for this series, these characters, and all that ooey gooey romance. 5 Stars!!

This is the second book in the Seaside Pointe series by Mindy Michele. It follows Hayden and Brynn and it was fire. The chemistry between the leads is off the charts. Mindy Michele prove time and time again that their books can be sexy without being explicit. Sweet sexy if you will.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again they write exceptional men characters. Hayden is a dream.

I also loved that Kip and Chloe (Blossoms and Steel, bk 1) were there. I cannot wait for book 3.

Seaside Point 1 (Blossoms and Steel) had me quite intrigued with Hayden and Brynn, and Copper and Ink did not disappoint! I couldn’t put it down. This book was hot and steamy. Much more so than any other Mindy Michele book, but I loved it. It was true to the characters and the sweet and sexy brand of Mindy Michele without crossing lines of turning too graphic. It was a perfect mix in my opinion. I loved how Brynn and Hayden’s back stories both unfolded to understand the characters better. I couldn’t wait to see what happened with the two of them! Great book and looking forward to the next in the series.

Copper and Ink by Mindy Michele a five-star read that will burn its way into your soul. This is number two in the Seaside Pointe series, but they each focus on a different pair, so you could read as stand-alone, but they are so good you will want to read them all!!! My heart broke for Brynn so many times, but time and again she showed me her strength and power and made my heart strong for her. Then you had Hayden and his struggled, and how Brynn kept even stronger for him, this is just a sublime story, and its not all sadness and heartache, there is some sunshine shining through and that is what makes this such a sublime story. I am so excited to see what will happen in Seaside pointe next.

This is another amazing book by Mindy Michele. This book gets it claws into you. You just don't want to put it down. This book puts you on a rollercoster of emotions. One minute you are laughing then the next you are crying. You fall in love the characters. You meet the relationships of best friends and siblings which gets all mixed up. Definitely one to curl up switch of from the world with a cup of coffee and whole lot of chocolate. Oh and don't forget your tissues!

Well I think I have found my favorite book by Mindy and Michele!
It was packed with so much that I’m still overwhelmed. Ladies…that was a triple H book: hot, honest, and heartbreaking.

Our main characters each have a painful past and have to learn how to move past what is holding them back from making a life with someone. Each chapter of the book moves us closer to finding out why they believe they don’t deserve a happily ever after.

Family love and friendship are just as strong in this part of the series as the last book and it makes for all the feels!

This story follows Hayden and Brynn’s epic battle to work out who they are to each other, how to handle their attraction to each other in front of Kip aka best friend/brother, and help their good friend start her business up. That’s right…all the characters you adore from the first book are included in this one! I mean it is always a little awkward to fall for your best friends sister, but oh muh gawd it makes for an glorious read.

A must read if you enjoy hot guys with ink, smart and sassy red heads, and just over all well written stories with moments that take your heart on wild rides.

I am loving the layout of this series! The titles are on point and the characters are fire. Hayden and Brynn made for one spicy match and I am here for it!! The fierce redhead, the strong tattooed hunk…yes please! I’ll admit, sometimes a series intimidates me because I feel obligated to read them all. The Seaside Pointe series leaves me wanting to go straight into the next book!!

Copper and Ink is quite a bit darker than Blossoms & Steel but just as good (if not better)! I do love some angst with my romance and there was definite angst as well as laugh out loud moments. Mindy Michele has become a 1-click author for me. Everything they write has all the feels.

Holy smokes! Copper & Ink gives ALL the feels. It’s sexy without being raunchy and leaves enough to the imagination to leave you wanting more. The story line is on point. Brynn and Hayden are the couple we want to read about.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a bit more gritty than the first and although the storyline may be triggering for some, it was dealt with very carefully.
Brynn and Hayden are my favourite so far!

This was pretty long winded and touched on some heavier subjects that was supposed to make it -I think-seem darker or less of a fluffy romance, however -to me- it just made it drag and caused a lot of unneeded miscommunication issues.
I will probably forget about this book within three days.

Copper and Ink is the second book in the Seaside Point series and I liked it even better than the first one! We got to know Brynn and Hayden a little bit in the first book and you could already tell they both had scars from their past. We got to explore those scars in Copper and Ink and their pain was truly heartbreaking. Watching them navigate through that pain to finally find the love that they deserve was beautiful. I fell in love with the characters and Hayden is definitely my type! I loved that we got to see more of the other characters while we discovered more about Hayden and Brynn. I can’t wait to read the next book!

This second book in the Seaside Pointe series is wonderful! I’ve been waiting for Brynn and Hayden’s story, and this did not disappoint!

Copper & Ink features Brynn and Hayden, two beautifully broken people who find each other and help put each other back together. Both have experiences from their past that keep them from fully embracing a relationship. When they finally realize how to push past their issues, the result is a beautiful bond that heals both the characters and the reader. We are all broken to some degree, and watching the healing of these characters is heartwarming.

This book is a standalone, although it is an intertwined series. There is a feud we learn of in book one with questions that were left unanswered. More questions arise in book two, with still no answers. Read the series in order if you want to follow along with the feud and find out the answers—eventually.

This is an excellent series with intriguing characters, an interesting backstory, and happily ever afters. Give Seaside Pointe a try, and lose yourself in some small town goodness!

DNF at 22%

I just couldn't gel with the characters at all - I think maybe I would have benefitted from starting with the first book, so there was context [?], but synopsis of the first book didn't appeal to me at all.

I really liked the premise of Copper & Ink, which is why I went with three starts for the 22% I read, but there was just something... off that prevented me from really engaging with the story. Can't put my finger on it, but the vibe was enough to put this one down and move on.

A great premise, written well, but I was underwhelmed at the sex scenes, bored at the in between story filler and when her ex finally comes out as being physically abusive, it was not plausible that she'd be as intimate and forward with the new love interest as quickly as she was.
