Wow!! Brutally tense and emotional and do not even get my started on that cliffy. Lol All I know is this story and these characters have me tied up in knots.

SCORNED QUEEN is the second instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult WALL STREET EMPIRE: STRICTLY BUSINESS erotic, romantic suspense series. The relationship between Alana and Damion is one of second chances. Years earlier, in an effort to protect the woman he love, Damion walked out of Alana’s life, leaving a heart broken and angry woman in his wake. Fast forward to present day wherein Damion has returned to claim our story line heroine but the predator has become more dark and dangerous. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.
All of the previous secondary and supporting characters return including Alana’s embattled parents, Damion’s father, as well as the appearance of Blake Walker, Adam and Savage.
SCORNED QUEEN is, once again, a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, greed and jealousy, issues of trust, blackmail and deceit. The fast paced, character driven premise is intriguing and dramatic; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, determined and dynamic but there is too much waffling, back and forth from our story line heroine. Scorned Queen is a continuation of the Protege King book that follows Damion West and Alana Blue's love story. If you think the first book is intense, this one has levelled up a few notches. Not just the chemistry between Damion and Alana but also the threats, blackmails, deception and heartbreaks will push your anxiety further as you progress with every chapter. I had difficulty putting the book down because the brutal storyline kept me on the edge.
In this sequel, Alana is at her wits' end attempting to end her dilemma in trusting Damion with her heart. Having him broken her heart thrice in the past, her emotions are in disarray whenever he's near, and worse her decision-making is dominated by his touch. Her love for him never ceased even after 10 years apart. Damion left me intrigued with his secrets in the first book. Thankfully, some has come to light in this follow-up that explains his possessiveness and the need to protect Alana to the point that he's willing to do anything even if it brings him to the dark side. His father truly is a monster. A ruthless, sinful asshole who thinks he can control everyone, including Damion. The war between father and son is a neck-and-neck battle of powerplays that positions Alana and her family in a life full of fear and betrayal, making them the main victims. With Damion giving all the truths and showing all his love for Alana, she finally decided to give him another chance. With a promise of being together forever and having their plans to bring down Senior West set in motion, it all went to a state of sabotage when the evil king made an unforeseen attack against Damion, that brutally affected Alana and their future. Just when he found her, he lost her.
I'm not a fan of cliffhangers and this book surely ended with that. But since LRJ has already forewarned us that this series is a 3 book novel, I forgive her. 😑 If you're a fan of billionaire love stories full of angst, intrigue and drama, you might want to dig into this series. I've surely had fun with this book because it shook me with all the twists in the plot. Not to forget that Walker Security men are also in it... like, who can't resist not seeing Savage and Adam together again?

Scorned Queen by Lisa Renee Jones was a thrilling, suspenseful, and heartbreaking book I have read this year. This book is the third book in the Wall Street Empire: Strictly Business series and will end with Burned Dynasty. Scorned Queen is a dark contemporary second-chance romance touching on dark themes and topics. I was super excited to devour this book; there is suspense, drama, spice, and action. I read this book in one night. I thought the storyline was original and beautifully written with vivid detail. The characters are complex and have scorching-hot angst and chemistry. Be prepared for a rollercoaster of a ride with this book. I felt all the feelings while reading this book. I laughed and cried for both characters; they are going through so much throughout this book. Deception, secrets, lies, and angsty spice had me turning the pages until I got to the end. This book does leave off on a cliffhanger, I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
Alana is strong, determined, and loyal. I loved the growth throughout this book. Her backbone keeps getting stronger and more resilient. Damion is determined, possessive, a total Alpha, and a whole lot broody. I loved his dedication to making sure Alana was safe. The road that they are traveling has been paved with bumps and detours. Their chemistry is undeniable and scorched the pages. Their love story is tragic, heartbreaking, and heartwarming. This series is definitely exciting, spicy, and captivating. -By Brooke

Scorned Queen, part two includes also part one or the first thirteen chapters of Damion and Alana's story. And it's starts just where Protege King ended. On that cliffhanger where Damion's father played mind games with them. And let me tell you Scorned Queen is not for the weak at heart. For starters Damion is dead set on moving on his relationship with Alana . They had some much needed conversions on clearing the situation between them and convincing her that ring on her finger is for real. He even plans some strategy with Alana . There's so much happening not only in a day but for a couple of days there are new players and the stakes are sky high. The mind games continue on a higher level. But this time Alana has her input in reading the situation and coming to some conclusions. In all this she has to deal with some of her family drama. I was so disappointed at the role her mother played in all this added to the threats of Damion's father. All that's happening only makes them even stronger. But Damion is so protective of Alana that he almost disabled her . She needs to stand up and show that she's strong and can fight alongside by Damion. And that ends up in The Queen's gambit she played at the end of the second book. No need to tell you that this cliffhanger is killing me big time.

First of all this story is the second in book the Wall Street Empire series. If you haven't read Protege King, you really want to read that book first. There's so much good back story and steamy bits.
You really get invested in the story during the first book. Second important thing to know is that book three won't be out until October 2024 and book four January 2025. That's a long time to wait, especially when this book ends on a cliffhanger. But the story is worth the wait.
In this series Alana and Damion have known each other since they were little kids and grew up living next door to each other. Alana tried to keep things in the friend zone until college when they reconnected with some serious chemistry. Damion on the other hand has always known they were going to end up together but his dad is a nasty piece of work and he keeps trying to protect her with disastrous results. It's heartbreaking because they're meant to be together but the father is pure evil. He keeps poisoning every part of their lives.
Walker Security with Blake and Savage are back providing comic relief. There are so many ways this story twists that you don't expect but it's a great ride. I just wish the wait wasn't so long to find out what happens next.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. This is book 2 in the series and because I read book 1 some time back, I just couldn't recall the story so it felt like I was going in blind with missing parts to the story. And since there is 1 more book to go, I would suggest waiting until all 3 books are out before reading, which is what I plan to do.
There was a lot of speculation and plotting in the story, both on Damion's part and his father's (or what he guesses would be his father's next move) but there wasn't much moving forward so it just felt like things became repetitive and it felt like a stalemate. The only action came about right before the cliffhanger, which I guess is deliberate so the reader would look forward to the last book, wanting to know what happens next. But it frustrated me on some level as it felt like I had spent x-hours on a book that didn't build much into the story except for the last 15-mins then it ends! Honestly, book 1 and 2 could probably be combined if you removed the fillers and repetitive what ifs. Well, I'm waiting for the last book so I can finally know what happens next and hoping it doesn't take too long to be out.

Incredible story continues

SCORNED QUEEN, book #2 in the Wall Street: Strictly Business trilogy, was an incredible, suspenseful, emotional, and romantic journey. It continues from the conclusion of Protege King, and yes, you must have read that one first. Damion West And Alana Blue continue a battle of wills against Damion's father while trying to re-establish their own relationship.
After the events of book #1 the stakes have just become higher. Damion is doing everything he can to garner support against his father, who is playing a dirty, vicious, and deadly game. Lives are at risk, new players are brought in to help, yay Walker Security. Alana is growing strength, she is determined to help Damion in any way possible, but is she putting her own life at risk? Damion will do anything to protect her, but at what cost?
Of course LRJ concludes this one on a cliffhanger, and what a cliffhanger it is! My jaw was on the floor, sure didn't expect that one, such a huge mic drop! Now to wait patiently for the epic conclusion of this thrilling trilogy, Burned Dynasty.

So Scorned Queen pretty much continues where Protégé King left off and WOW... LRJ cannot do wrong in this series! It was filled with suspense, lies, deception, betrayal and most of all, Damion and Alana's love - to be or not to be?
Damion proposes a fake engagement with Alana in order to protect her from his mercenary father. West Senior has always disliked Alana for being the biggest distraction for Damion. With the ongoing battle to overthrow his father for his brutal business practices and protecting Alana, things start getting real. Alana's in danger, as well as her close ones. Will they be able to come out on top or are Alana and Damion just destined to never be?
I loved how we got to see more of Damion and Alana's relationship in this. The worries and insecurities are evident in both and I could really relate to them. The fact they have always known they have been each others 'person', but not knowing if love is enough to pull through... Gahhh my heart 🥹🥹
I CANNOT wait to see what LRJ has in store for us next in book 3, and I really hope Alana and Damion finally get their well deserved HEA ❤️.

Some people are so full of greed, evil and arrogance they really need bringing down in such a public and determined way they can never escape or recover, West senior is one of those. Damian and Alana deserve to be happy and love their lives together, their love has lasted their whole lifetime despite obstacles and others interference. It's rocky, intense, steamy and so full of love, but that isn't always enough. Honestly! I want to put an end to the evil myself after reading this, I'm emotionally wrung out, it's gone from smiles to anger to sadness and a whole lot inbetween. Corruption, lies, threats are just some of the issues faced by this couple, the fact it comes from family makes it even worse. Twisted, suspenseful story that finishes on a cliff edge to be continued. To get full enjoyment of this story you do need to start at the beginning and invest the whole series, personally I can't wait for the next part. Well written plot that is packed and grips from start to finish it's intricate and has many levels but this author is known for just this style and it's what I love most about her books.

Captivating!! So thrilled to be back in this storyline once again! Finally Alana and Damion are together and are trying to build their HEA! Love this second chance romance trope and loving all the suspense and seduction that this author only can bring to a story!
But in their world full of power, control, greed, secrets, jealousy, distrust, danger, blackmail and deceit they have their work cut out for them if they are going to make it!

This story picks up where Protege King ended. of Damian and Alana's story with the cliffhanger where Damian's father played mind games with them. This is a captivating story filled with intrigue, mind games in a war between father and son to take over the Wall Street billion dollar company. Alana has alway been Damian’s best friend, now fake girl friend, but everything feels so right. Damian just has to convince her it’s not fake and protect her and her family from his father. The story has a few twists and turns as the story unravels and Damian and her family’s secrets are revealed. I love a book where I get invested with the characters. This book is exactly one of those books. In book 1 of this series Damion stays away from Alana because he think that will protect her from his father and his rath. He realizes that he can run from his love for Alana anymore. This story has all sorts of twists and turns in the storyline. These 2 are star crossed loves who can’t seem to catch a break causing them to be damaged by life events their parents created. It is a great story but has happy and sad events. Hopefully with the next in the series they will be able to overcome and be able to love each other with pain. Hopefully her mother and his father will get what they deserve as well.

Scorned Queen is book two in the Wall Street Empire: Strictly Business series and I recommend you read book one Protégé King before you start this one. This book includes what was originally Scorned Queen Part 1 and Part 2 and it continues Alana and Damion's story. They have loved each other since they were kids and their love for each other has only gotten stronger over the years. These two go through a lot in this book but it makes their story that much more intense as they fight to take the throne. Scorned Queen ends in a cliffhanger so now I wait for the next book to come out to find out what happens next. Great writing and a page turning story make this a great addition to the series. My only complaint is the wait between books is too long. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I didn’t realize there was going to be one more book after this one, so Scorned Queen was a solid middle book. At the beginning of this book, Alana still became angry over things I didn’t think she should. Damion was possessive of her, and I enjoyed it! There were cameos that entertained me, and that’s all I will say! Alana said, “Protecting this bond between us feels more important than ever.” After what happened, will their bond still be in place? I can’t wait to find out , and I am nevertheless rooting for them to have a HEA!

Scorned Queen is a fantastic read. This is Alana and Damion facing their relationship head on. Alana has great strength going up against everything being thrown at her. Damion is strong but he's still trying to find that leverage to get his father out also while keeping Alana safe. I love the chemistry and how Alana isn't so afraid to call Damion out on his stuff. I love how Damion will do everything to keep Alana safe even if it means the possibility of walking. There is this cliff hanger that will having you needing the next book right away. What the heck!!!!! That ending OMG how will I survive until the next book??? This was quite the whirlwind for Damion and Alana and the mess that their families are. This book kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end and I cannot wait to see what happens next as I know it will be explosive and oh so good. The best part of this book was seeing my absolute favourite character that Lisa has written to date......Savage. I sure hope there is more of him in the next installment of this story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.

Holy cliffhanger! I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one. Scorned Queen is based on events from Protege King. So definitely read that one first. There is a part one and part two to Scorned Queen. Part one is the first thirteen chapters. But those thirteen chapters are in part two. This is a book about second chances. Alana and Damion have such great chemistry. But their families are entirely different story. This is an edge of the seat, intense book. Which has you turning from page to page until you’re left hanging. I definitely recommend.

I was rooting for Alana and Damion. I truly believe that Damion wants to be a better person and I hope that Alana would not be mad at him for anything he did in the past.

Scorned Queen picks up where Protege King left off and it gives us more of the background story between Alana and Damion. I was completely captivated by the authors writing style and the characters that I devoured this book and I'm ready to read the next book in this series. This story was full of suspense, it was intense and there was undeniable chemistry between Alana and Damion that kept me wanting more. I enjoyed this book a lot and it's a story I can recommend to friends saying that it was a good read for me. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this author.

This book was an amazing read that will hook you from the get go and not let you put it down. It moves along at a pace that is perfect for the flow of this story and makes for an easy and enjoyable read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you know them and no matter what happens you want to be there for them. This is a book that needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it. It is a must read.

Scorned Queen by Lisa Renee Jones is book Two in the Wall Street Empire: Strictly Business Series. This continues the story of Damion West and Alana Blue that started in the First book 'PROTEGE KING'. This series is just so wonderful. Ms. Jones knows how to bring you into their story and leaving you wanting more. Which leads me to say I can't wait for the next book!! I highly recommend this series and of course this author's writing.
