The Urban Nature Project
Ages: KS3. Wollaton Hall and Newstead Abbey. Long term project until 2024. Free.
An exciting opportunity for your school to be involved in the Natural History Museum London’s Urban Nature Project. Museums across the country are connecting teachers and new audiences of young people aged 9-14 to their local nature, and to global issues. In particular to connect with those identified as having a low connection to nature.There is training for teachers, curriculum-linked learning resources, hands-on outdoor workshops for pupils aged 9-14 and a new community science project informed by student ideas and questions. Notts Book Arts Competition 2022
Ages: KS3-5.
Young people can create a book using the instructions, and then show how creative they can be by adding pop-ups, windows or a add poster on the inside. To enter, photos of the book must be emailed by 31 August 2022 to nottsbookartscompetition@gmail.com Winners will be announced on 11 September and then a prizegiving will be held at the exhibition opening on 24 September. There are prizes for the winner and runner up in each category and the winning artwork will be displayed alongside professional artists at Wollaton Library Artspace. Nottingham Music Hub: The Great Big Orchestra Project
Friday 22 July. Albert Hall, Nottingham.
To celebrate the visit of RHYO's partner orchestra, the JOK from Karlsruhe, Germany, Nottingham City, instrumental pupils are invited to play alongside the two orchestras in workshops and an evening concert at Nottingham's Albert Hall. There are parts for most instruments and all levels of playing experience. Register your interest by completing the form, they will then be sent the instrumental parts and backing tracks.

Nottingham Music Hub: Voice Connect
Ages: 15-18
A new vocal group for young people in Nottingham. The sessions are for 15-18 year-olds who want to improve their singing and harmonising skills, and will be run by local singer songwriter and vocal coach Ajay Henry. Genres covered will be pop, with elements of R&B, soul and electronic music. Please encourage your students to complete this expression of interest form so they have the opportunity to be involved from the start.

Nottingham Music Hub: Move On Up! and the Transition Project

Secondary Music Teachers, Music Leads and Transition Leads are invited to Move On Up!, a celebratory musical event at Nottingham's Albert Hall. Papplewick Pumping Station: A Temple to Water

An award winning, immersive, day-long teacher led/actor supported visit to Papplewick Pumping Station, meeting characters from the museum's industrial and social history. The visit is part of an education offer with extensive cross curricula resources investigating Papplewick’s local, social and engineering history, and its significance as a site for considering the management of global water resources today. BeatFeet Drumming: Dance and Wellbeing Workshops

BeatFeet provide global drumming and dance workshops for schools. Specialising in West African percussion and dance, Brazilian Samba percussion and dance, an also Indian Bhangra dance. National Justice Museum: Bedroom Floor Catwalk Creative Workshop

In 2021 artist Bruce Asbestos was commissioned to produce his catwalk collection for Spring/Summer 2021 for the exhibition; Power: Freedom to Create at National Justice Museum. Join Bruce in a drop-in session where you’ll be taking basic items and recycled materials to magically and quickly transform them into surprising costumes and sculptures. Join the creative world of experimental bookbinding and learn how to make unique and playful books.

Next Gen Movement’s mission is to keep the conversation going around race, not just during Black History Month. Much of the training around racism is outdated and does not include terms used in today's society such as micro-aggressions. These training sessions are designed to help teachers navigate difficult conversations in the classroom.

Artsmark Partnership Programme Briefing and Induction
Monday 6 June 2022 at 4pm-6pm. Free
The Artsmark Partnership Programme is an Arts Council England endorsed network of arts and cultural organisations (including freelance practitioners) that can support education settings on their Artsmark journey to embed arts and culture across the curriculum. This session is for anyone interested in how the Artsmark Partnership programme could support their engagement and work with schools. Attending this briefing and induction session is the first step to becoming an Artsmark Partner. Find out more.
Artsmark Back on Track: Online support session
Tuesday 21 June 2022 at 4.00pm-5.30pm. Free
With so many challenges over the last 24 months we realise your Artsmark journey may have not gone to plan, but the Artsmark framework is flexible and adaptable – so please don’t panic!
This session is for any school on their Artsmark journey who would like the opportunity to reset and be supported. This will be a forum for discussion, and whilst there will be some ongoing barriers, a chance to share experiences, challenges and to find a way to reset with other teachers and TMC support. Artsmark Development Training

This Development Training will equip you with all the tools needed for your Artsmark journey. Led by a specialist consultant you will be supported to reflect on your current practice and explore your vision for arts and cultural education in your school. You will be guided through the different stages of the Artsmark process and will work with other schools to generate ideas and plan your journey.
Please note that you must sign up to the Artsmark programme with Arts Council England before booking on to a Development Training session.
Artsmark Statement of Impact: Online Support Session

This session for Artsmark Schools will help you prepare for your Artsmark Statement of Impact.
You need to submit your completed Statement of Impact to Arts Council England within two years of submitting your Statement of Commitment. This workshop is for any school who are starting to think about their Statement of Impact, whether your deadline is a year or a term away.
