About this event

About this event:

Held on Saturday, May 22nd, the virtual CS4All Teachers Conference will celebrate K-14 NYC Teachers with a series of breakout sessions, a keynote by Dr. Gholdy Muhammad, and networking opportunities. CS Teachers Con is a space for NYC CS educators to deepen their computer science knowledge, empower one another, and share best practices.

Computer science has been at the forefront of addressing the pressing challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. And computer science education has been key in inspiring students to develop their own solutions, form connections, and explore creatively. We at CS4All have been humbled by how our teachers have adapted, overcome, and led through this year.

This year’s CS Teachers Con will be both an exploration of the lessons we have learned and a chance to lay a foundation for the path forward!

Dr. Gholdy Muhammad, author of Cultivating Genius: An Equity Framework for Culturally and Historically Responsive Literacy, will lead a keynote address. A leader in the field, Dr. Muhammad will share insights on the imperative to build equity into our classrooms and education systems. These lessons are essential as NYC builds back to in-person classrooms.

A series of breakout sessions will be led by CS4All teachers on a range of topics, including classroom activities, building CS Community, and mindfulness techniques.

Let’s lift each other up, pay it forward, and connect with the community! Register today for the CS4All Teachers Conference.
