Burgettstown welcomes new Superintendent
Mr. Stephen Puskar began his commission as the new Superintendent of Schools on Monday, April 19. Please read his letter below for an introduction.
Thank you to Dr. Nicksick
Burgettstown resident, Dr. C. Joyce Nicksick, served as Interim Superintendent between the time Dr. Walsh left for his new position on March 12 and Mr. Puskar began on April 19. Dr. Nicksick is a retired Superintendent of the Wilmington Area School District in Lawrence County. During her time with us here at BASD, Dr. Nicksick was certainly an asset to the school district, and most definitely left a positive mark on it. We thank Dr. Nicksick for her service to the Burgettstown Area School District and wish her well as she resumes retirement!
Thank you to our Administrative Assistants!
Wednesday was Administrative Professional's (Secretary's) day, and we want to give a big shout out and THANK YOU to these employees, who make everyone's life a little easier and are truly here to help in whatever way they can.

Springtime means PSSA Time!
The Pennsylvania System of School Assessment exams will begin next week! Plans have been underway for the last several weeks to make sure we are ready for the PSSA tests. All Burgettstown Area students in grades 3 through 8 are required to participate in these exams, whether they are in-person learners or remote learners. Mrs. Mankey and Mr. Fadden have communicated with parents, guardians, and students about the testing dates, times, and requirements. Below, please find letters related to testing in each of the school buildings. More information may also be found on the school district website and through Alma.
