Come knit, crochet, and spin in public at The Detroit Zoo in honor of World Wide Knit in Public Day! This is Mittens for Detroit's and The Yarn Stop's 5th World Wide Knit in Public event together. The funds raised at our event will purchase new, warm, durable mittens and gloves for elementary age kids next winter.
Something tells us it's all happening at the zoo.... and we are so excited that it is!
Join hosts Mittens for Detroit and The Yarn Stop as we knit, crochet, and spin in public!
With gratitude to The Yarn Stop for this wonderful idea, we will be knitting, crocheting and spinning at The Detroit Zoo to celebrate our 5th World Wide Knit in Public weekend together!
This is a private, outdoors, tented event, rain or shine (no refunds). Join us to meet new
friends, spend some wonderful time with old friends, visit with vendors
offering special event items, and stroll around the zoo!
Your
event ticket is a minimum donation of $25, which includes zoo admission.
Please note: this is a special event, and your zoo membership cannot be used for admission. Parking is $8 per car (you CAN use your zoo membership card to cover
your parking). This is a fundraiser for
Mittens for Detroit. The proceeds from the event will fund new, warm,
durable gloves for school-age children in Detroit, Hamtramck, Dearborn,
and Pontiac in the Fall. Thank you!
Only 100 tickets available – these will go FAST! We are not able to reserve specific seating at this event; arrive early to get a space for your group! TICKET SALES END MAY 30th – DAY OF WALK-INS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Please order soon!
Because of limited seating, this is an adults only (18+) event. Vendors will be there so that you can add to your yarn stash with some of the most beautiful yarn around Metro Detroit! You'll receive an event souvenir and one ticket for the door prize drawing.
