We shouldn't forget the other senior bp members either: Murray Auchincloss - Interim CEO Kate Thomson - Interim CFO with special mention of Helge Lund - Chair Interesting again to see who is taggable on LinkedIn, and who even posts on behalf of bp... #BPpensions #BP #leadership
The supine and docile nature of bp 's Executive Vice Presidents (EVP's) is surprising. Confusing compliance with board solidarity is going to cost them in the long term. Helge Lund must be enjoying the easy ride! It means they do not have a voice or an opinion on a matter which will damage bp's reputation. It seems that they have little regard for their own reputations either. #BPpensions
Lesley M. it is both upsetting and disturbing that not one of the EVPs, despite some being known to be genuine and all claiming to be E&C champions, has put their hand up and said this is not right. That says one of two things. Either the culture in bp and leadership from board down does not allow individuals to have a voice on important ethical matters, or personal greed and a sniff of the โprizeโ (pension fund) has thrown all care and integrity matters out of the window. For we need to be clear. The decision to renege on pension commitments was hugely damaging to pensioner financial survival, and the subsequent behaviours from each and every leader has also damaged mental health, already an issue amongst the most vulnerable stakeholders that bp has a duty of care towards. And I say stakeholders but what hurts even more is that we are former colleagues and friends, not just a stakeholder So will they see sense when they reflect over this time of family and friends, and think what damage they have caused to many families? Letโs hope. #bp #BPpensions #CSR #ESG #codeofconduct Gordon Birrell Giulia Chierchia Emma Delaney Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath Kerry Dryburgh Carol Howle, William Lin Eric Nitcher Leigh-Ann Russell
Itโs a very sad state of affairs when senior leaders of a global blue chip company appear constrained or too frightened to respond to their 60,000 pensioners who have not been paid an inflation level award !! Come on BP executives and do the right thing !!
The High Court is not for the faint hearted either. Time to see sense and talk. #BPpensions
bp's refusal even to talk to bp pensioners doesn't bode well for all bp's stakeholders. #bppensions
It seems that bp leadership hopes that the pensions issue will fade away and become old news. Nothing could be further from the truth. The numbers expressing concern continue to grow and awareness is still spreading far and wide. This, combined with the determination of those directly impacted for the rest of their lives, will ensure that the crisis remains centre stage for as long as needed. Hopefully bp leadership will realise that meaningful engagement with pensioners is the best way forward, and that bp could act to resolve the crisis quickly should they choose to do so. #BPpensions
The job of โExecutive Vice Presidentโ should be something that people aspire to, that people can look up to with respect. Sadly, the current cadre are not demonstrating positive qualities. They do seem capable, however, of keeping quiet, presumably by dictat as the damage to #bp โs reputation continues to grow. I can see future University and Management Consultancy Case Studies proliferating of how not to deal with your former employees. #bpPensions #bpBetrayingPensioners
