Youth Ambassador of Reconciliation Program - Youth Mentor Information
Thank you for agreeing to be a reference for the young adult applying for the Youth Ambassador of Reconciliation Program (YARP).

About the Program
The Youth Ambassador of Reconciliation Program is an exciting experiential program developed by the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) that provides non-Aboriginal CRCNA young people with the tools and opportunity to act as bridges between their community and a local Aboriginal community. The Youth Ambassador of Reconciliation (YAR) will have the opportunity to learn and practice skills related to reconciliation by participating in a week long cross-cultural reconciliation journey with urban Indigenous youth and developing a Reconciliation Action Plan with their church/school/youth group community. The Reconciliation Action Plan is designed to build or strengthen relationships between the YAR’s church community and a local First Nations community.

Youth Mentor participation is important to the success of the program.  In order for an application to be accepted there must be a Youth Mentor willing to walk alongside the Youth Ambassador of  Reconciliation.  For details concerning what would make the ideal Youth Mentor, please refer to the YARP Information Package, available online.
