Black Mama’s Bail Out: A Call To ActionThe criminal legal system preys on our families and communities and uses its money bail arm to keep our poor Black fam in particular locked up in cages. Our Black Mama’s Bail Outs are an act of love for our people and resistance against the malicious system of money bail. Through our bailouts, we make tangible interventions that both help support our people and further build upon our local and regional campaigns to End Money Bail. Since May of 2017, SONG members have successfully bailed out well over 100 Black mamas and caregivers to reconnect them with their families for Mother’s Day. We’ll continue our labor of love this year! Our approach to regional bailouts will be different this year and will include a new application and site selection process. We hope you answer the call to join us as we expand our campaign work and continue to free Black mamas and caregivers from cages. Applications are due on March 6th, we will notify applicants by March 13th.
