Become a volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to help your community.

Wodonga Council uses volunteers in many areas, including helping out at events, providing visitor services, assisting in our facilities and making the community a stronger and more sustainable place.

The council is always looking for volunteers to help and full training and insurance is available.

How do I become a volunteer?

Steps to become a volunteer

  1. Contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator to discuss your interest in becoming a volunteer
  2. Fill out an Volunteer application form and send to Volunteer Co-ordinator
  3. Once contacted by the Volunteer Co-ordinator, apply for a Working with Children’s Check (if you currently don’t have one) fill out the supplied Police Check Form
  4. You will then need to meet with the Volunteer Co-ordinator to finish off the requirements for a Police Check and to discuss your volunteering aspirations.

Once these checks have come back you will then be able to volunteer in any of our opportunities below.
(Please note: This process can take two to three weeks to complete).
