Nature is a work of art! Get outside and hunt for natural patterns and shapes, then create art inspired by nature! Scouts will earn the Daisy Numbers in Nature and Shapes in Nature badges. We will be going outside, so bring sunscreen if you’d like!

This is a drop-off class. If you would like to wait for your child, you are welcome to play in the Museum ($7/person discounted admission for adults/siblings) or there is seating outside the classroom.

Registration closes 2 weeks before class.

$35/scout for both days. $42/scout for both days plus Museum visit.
June 17-21

Wham! Kapow! Bam! Superheroes Unite! Get ready for action as you investigate your favorite heroes and villains and discover what makes them tick. How does Superman get his super strength and why is The Flash ultra fast? What is YOUR superpower?

June 24-28

Avengers Assemble! Activate your spidey senses and grab your kryptonite as you step into the shoes of some of your favorite superheroes! Dig into the science behind super powers and remember -``With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility!’’

July 15-19

Dust off your chef hats and lab coats for this fun exploration into the chemistry of cooking! Campers will explore how chemical reactions make food tasty, why some of the world’s most popular foods are filled with mold and bacteria, and develop their cooking skills during this hands-on culinary investigation! Please note: This camp is not recommended for children with food allergies/sensitivities including (but not limited to): milk, egg, tree nut, peanut, wheat, and soybeans. 7/23 and 7/24 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Anyone can be a maker! Learn about tools and invent something new in the Discovery Center Makerspace! Scouts will earn the Brownie Craft and Tinker badge and Create and Innovate badge.

August 5-9

Identify DNA, analyze evidence, lift fingerprints and more! Learn about the human body and work together to solve a murder investigation! Please note: This camp will discuss real life issues of crime and death. May not be suitable for more sensitive investigators.

8/3 and 8/14 10:00 am - 11:30 am

How did machines move before electricity? Explore the power of water, wind, and simple machines as you engineer awesome creations! Scouts will be working towards Junior Mechanical Engineering badges 1-3.

Join us for a night at DCM with your scout group! Our camp-ins are a scouting favorite, featuring themed activities, planetarium shows, museum playtime, snacks and continental breakfast, Purchase your tickets as soon as you are able; some events will sell out. Ticket sales close one week prior to the event. Reservations are on a first come first served basis.

Explore the vastness of outer space in our planetarium and experiment with rocketry, black holes and more for a night of celestial fun!

Fees: $40 per person. All sales are final. Fee includes all activity materials, evening snack, continental breakfast; scouts receive Discovery Center Museum patch. Scout awards not included.
