The FAFSA/Dream Act is now open!! We will have a workshop in the next few weeks to assist families with filling out the FAFSA/Dream Act.
What is the FAFSA® form?
Colleges and career schools use the FAFSA form to determine how much financial aid you're eligible to receive, which could include grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.
You must apply for aid every year, but with the right information in hand, it's easy.
Who should complete the FAFSA® form?
Any student, regardless of income, who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs. This includes grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans.
How long will it take?
It takes most people less than one hour to fill out the FAFSA form, including gathering any personal documents and financial information needed to complete it.
What do I need?
Verified account username and password (FSA ID)
Parent or spouse contributor name, date of birth, Social Security number, and email address
Income and asset information (if required)
*****Students who will be attending Community College, filling out the FAFSA/Dream Act is a requirement to qualify for the free two years of tuition. Also, some scholarships or other programs might require it to be filled out.

Ford Scholarship
The San Diego County Salute to Education program is a corporate sponsored scholarship program funded by the San Diego County Ford dealers and Ford Motor Company. Salute to Educationʼs main purpose is to encourage students to continue their educations, whether it be at a vocational/technical school, junior college or university.
Over the past 26 years the San Diego County Salute to Education program has awarded nearly $4.6 million to San Diego County high school seniors. Each of the over 4,600 students have each received a $1,000 scholarship for further education. In addition, 31 of the scholarship recipients also received new Ford vehicles.
San Diego County Salute to Education is available to high school seniors who reside in San Diego County and attend an accredited public or private school in participating areas. Recipients of the scholarships are selected in March by San Diego County Salute to Education Advisory Council participants, educators and community leaders. Scholarship recipients are selected for their personal achievements and their contributions to their communities and schools. Academic achievement is considered, but is not the determining factor for receiving a San Diego County Salute to Education scholarship.

Interested in taking the ASVAB?
The ASVAB will be administered at Clairemont on Wednesday, February 21st at 8:30am.
It is open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. You must sign up!
ASVAB Registation Form
What is the ASVAB?
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world. As an aptitude test, the ASVAB measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB also provides you with career information for various civilian and military occupations and is an indicator for success in future endeavors whether you choose to go to college, vocational school, or a military career.
IT’S NOT JUST A MILITARY TEST.
Unlike other achievement tests, the ASVAB measures aptitude, or how well students have developed their skills, in addition to their potential for training. While the Department of Defense initially introduced the ASVAB as a predictor of trainability in military occupations, the test results showed applicability to ALL civilian and military career fields.
Every ASVAB participant receives scores used to guide career exploration on asvabprogram.com, and students in 11th grade and beyond also receive an AFQT score that can be used for enlistment if they choose.
