The Mid-Michigan Program for Greater Sustainability (“MMPGS”) is a regional initiative designed to expand and improve the planning process for housing, transportation, green infrastructure, energy efficiency, environmental issues, economic development and education. Funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Tri-County Regional Planning Commision, the MMPGS includes the Community Reinvestment Fund.
The Fund was created to ensure that traditionally underserved and/or marginalized populations have the opportunity to be involved in the planning process at all levels of government. Mid-MEAC serves as the administrator of the Fund and as such, we are pleased to announce the sixth and final round of funding for nonprofit organizations in Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties.
We seek creative proposals that actively and directly achieve the goal of engaging traditionally underserved and/or marginalized populations in government planning. The Request for Proposal (“RFP”) is included with this letter, may be downloaded through the Fund website (https://sites.google.com/site/mmpgscommunityreinvestmentfund/ ) or through the Mid-MEAC website (www.midmeac.org). If you would prefer, we can also email the forms to you. Please send a request to midmeac@gmail.com.
The Fund application is due by 5pm, Friday, March 14, 2014. In order for your application to be considered, a representative of your organization MUST attend one of the free Community Information sessions. We have scheduled five sessions and two conference calls around the region and we can also schedule one-on-one sessions if you cannot make one of the sessions listed below.
