In April 2022, Texas Governor Abbott began busing migrants and asylum seekers from the southern border to DC. Since then, migrants from the border have been making their way to DC. It is essential that we, as a community in the DC area, continue to mobilize to ensure that they are welcomed with open arms and supported as they either make their way to their actual destinations or plan to settle in the DMV.

Volunteers are needed to provide mutual aid to folks once they arrive, and to people who choose to stay in DC. We also encourage people to donate on Venmo to @SanctuaryDMV with "Texas Solidarity" in the memo line or contribute in other ways: linktr.ee/dctxsolidarity22.
