Earth Bonds II workshop Nie la by oxi peng & Marijn Degennar.

Nie la — taste of the southern mountains.

As part of their research trip extended from the first deep-reading piece they created, 'shells that glow like aembers', which is based on Shan Hai Jing’s “Southern Mountain Scrolls,” oxi and Marijn travelled to Jing Mai Mountain, located on the southern border of China, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, and brought back one of the treasures that they discovered in the mountains—Gu Shu Cha 古樹茶 (translated as ancient tree tea), cultivated by the local Blang and Dai People for more than 1800 years. It is also one of the origins where the Ancient Tea Horse Road started.

'Nie la' [ni-ee-la] in Blang dialect means 'drinking tea.' In this workshop we invite you to join us for a taste of the southern mountains. Oxi and Marijn will lead two tea-sharing sessions where they tell the stories that they gathered from the mountains and serve the ancient tree tea generously gifted by their friends Yi Tuan, Yan Nuo, and Yu Ni from Blang and Dai ethnicity.

First session, they will serve 'Aged Citrus Peel White Tea  陈皮白茶' cultivated by Yu Ni (Blang) and her family.

The attribute of this tea is mild. It is especially nurturing for bodies that easily get hot, sweaty, stressed and tempered. Cautious for pregnant bodies.

Second session, they will serve 'Ancient Tree Red Tea 古树红茶' cultivated by Yi Tuan (Dai) and Yan Nuo (Blang).

The attribute of this tea is warm. It is especially nurturing for bodies that easily get cold or with a weak stomach. Safe for pregnant bodies.

Each session will last around 30 to 40 minutes.
