How Flex Leagues Work:
Players are placed in a round-robin group and play 4-5 matches over 4 weeks. Based on their location, players are divided into divisions/groups.
What else?
You and your opponent can organize your weekly league matches at a time and on a convenient court for both of you.
Matches can be played any week from April 29 to May 27. You can even play all the matches in the first week!
Matches are mixed doubles with brackets by DUPR.
Teams will compete as Mixed Doubles 3.0/3.5/or 4.0 The playing level is based on the DUPR ranking and your current actual playing skills. (Some never update their DUPR scores. Some may underestimate or overestimate their playing skills. The skills combined for each team should rank 6 for those registering for 3.0/ 7 for 3.5/ 8 for 4.0 )

Duration: April 29- May 27, 2024
Final Rounds: June 1-2, 2024 at BYC Indoor Courts Chiang Mai
Award Day: June 2, 2024 ( Im-mee Shabu Buffet )
Costs /Prizes
500 baht/person/ division
The prize money (3,000 baht) will be given to the winners, and the 2nd and 3rd place winners will be given a trophy.

On Saturday, June 1st
9-12:00 PB Clinic and Exhibition Match with PB Professional players
13:30 DUPR matches for all teams present except for those competing in semifinals and finals on Sunday. Round Robin for Men Doubles and Women Doubles.
On Sunday, June 2nd
9:00 Semifinal and final matches
18:00 Meet-up (Dinner and Award presentation at Im-mee Shabu Buffet (Actual cost will be charged.)

When does the league start and end?
○ The league starts on April 29, 2024, and ends on May 27, 2024.
Who do I play?
○ If you're in a division, play against every team in your division during each season in a Round Robin format.
Where and when do I play?
○ You and your opponent should decide where and when to play your match.
Who books the court?
○ You and your opponent decide who books the court for your match. It's better to book the court for 1 hour.
Who pays for the court?
○ You and your opponent should equally split the court fees unless you both agree otherwise.
○ Participants in the BYC Flex League Doubles for pickleball receive one free hour on BYC Indoor courts between Monday and Friday., 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Who provides the balls?
○ Both players should bring at least 2 balls for each match. You can then decide together which balls you would like to use.
How do I arrange each match?
○ Contact your opponent using the contact details they have provided on the Google Sheet called ‘Contact Numbers.’ Also a LINE group will be set for each league.
○ The link to this sheet is only included in the email, not on Facebook, for privacy reasons.
What is the match format?
○ The winner of each match is the team who wins 2 out of 3 games. Each game is 11 points. NO DEUCES.
How do I submit the match result?
○ After the match, the winner must take a selfie of both players and post it in the Chiang Mai Indoor Pickleball Players Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/chiangmaipickleballchat
○ The result should be included in the caption in the following format: League Result: [winner’s name] vs [loser’s name] - Score [Winner’s scores first].
○ For example, if Team A played against Team B, and Team A won 11-8/ 11-7/ 11-5 League Result: “Team A vs Team B 11-8/ 11-7/ 11-5 ”
How are the scores recorded?
○ The participants are to create a DUPR account https://dashboard.dupr.com/dashboard/club/5627198894/info The organizer will enter the scores on the live google sheet and DUPR dashboard.
How do the league points work?
○ 1 point is awarded for every game won.
○ The loser of a match gets 0 point.
○ The league rankings will be updated within 24 hours of submitting each new result.
What happens if my opponent doesn’t show up?
○ If your opponent doesn’t show up and hasn't contacted you to cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice, then you can submit a win with the score 11-0
I can no longer play in the Flex League; how do I withdraw and get a refund?
○ If you cannot complete your league matches and need to withdraw from a league, please reach out to us at the email provided on the league session event page right away so they can find substitute matches for your scheduled opponents. Please note that no refund will be given once the league session has started and matchups have been sent out to players.
What happens at the end of each season?
○ The finals will be held at the BYC Chiangmai Pickleball Indoor Court between the top two teams of each division.
○ We will also organize an ‘awards day’(the meet-up) where everyone is invited (this is optional, however, everyone is encouraged to come and connect with the others), and the winners of each division will be presented with prizes.
Remarks: The organizer reserves all rights to make any changes deemed appropriate.
