Position:          9-12 HIGH SCHOOL, COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENGINEERING/MATH

Contract:          190 days

Location:          iSTEM Geauga Early College High School, 8140 Auburn Road, Concord Twp., OH  44077

Start date:          2017-2018school year, summer Professional Development (stipend), summer meetings

Salary:         dependent upon previous experience and education

General description: i STEM High School opened to students in 2015-2016.  This small public school has a private school atmosphere with an enrollment of 100s students.  It is projected that the enrollment will be 185 in the fall of 2017-2018.  The vision of this school is to provide the highest quality educational experience for students of all abilities that ensures creativity and innovative thinking through a focus of problem solving and strategies that engage minds.  A curriculum that incorporates the expertise of content specialists and the diversity of partner resources, which, in combination with innovative teaching and learning practices, delivered in challenging, supportive environment, creates the conditions for student success.The school is an early college entity currently partnering with a variety of higher education entities.  

Qualifications (non-negotiables):

• Ohio Teaching license for secondary education (9-12 Math, Computer Science)
• Ability to think outside of the box and connect disciplines with one another - interdisciplinary teaching
• Commitment to positive results
• Effective interpersonal skills that promote collaboration, professionalism, and relationship building with a variety of stakeholders including, but not limited to students, parents, other teachers, community leaders, and businesses
• Extensive knowledge of innovative instructional methods and strategies
• Advanced computer literacy skills including integration of teaching and learning technologies preferred, knowledge of Google Apps for Education/Classroom a plus

Responsibilities (non-negotiables):

• To successfully develop and implement innovative, interdisciplinary STEM pedagogy at iSTEM
• To successfully develop and implement inquiry and problem-based learning
• To be dedicated to maintaining a positive team school culture/climate
• To serve as coaches to help students set and achieve personalized learning goals
• To effectively work with and engage business, community and higher education in partnerships with the school
• To effectively demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction based on student abilities and interests
• To provide real-world learning opportunities for students

Other areas of certification welcomed (Engineering, PLTW, Masters in Content area, CTE Certification, etc.).
