Nur noch 60 Tage bis zur 26. IRO Weltmeisterschaft für Rettungshunde Mitte September in Craiova, Rumänien. Die Vorfreude ist groß und die Vorbereitungen laufen auf Hochtouren. Mehr als 40 Rettungshunde Organisationen aus insgesamt 20 Nationen von drei Kontinenten werden dieses Jahr teilnehmen.
Ein weiteres Event, dass du dir neben der IRO WM rot im Kalender anstreichen solltest, ist der REDOG Online-Kongress, mit zahlreichen interessanten Fachvorträgen.

Ausrichtung IRO Weltmeisterschaft 2023
Wir freuen uns sehr, mitteilen zu dürfen, dass die IRO WM 2023 in Stubenberg, Österreich, mit dem Rettungshunde Verband Österreich (RHVÖ) als Gastgeber, stattfinden wird.
Vom 20. bis 24. September 2023 werden die besten Rettungshunde gekürt.

Wir weisen darauf hin, dass laut der Internationalen Prüfungsordnung für Rettungshunde (IPO-R) für die Teilnahme an einer B-Prüfung zwei IPO-R Prüfungen der Stufe A erforderlich sind.
Dies bitte bei der Anmeldung zu Prüfungen der Stufe B berücksichtigen.

IRO Mantrailing Kurs – Fortsetzung folgt
|
|
Der von Frank Kania und Alois Russegger gemeinschaftlich geleitete zweite Mantrailing Kurs Anfang Juli in Bad Wörishofen, Deutschland, war erneut ein voller Erfolg.
Die Teams waren mit großer Begeisterung dabei und freuten sich über die wertvollen Anleitungen der beiden Trainer. Für jene Teilnehmer, die auch bereits am ersten Kurs in Laakirchen, Österreich, teilnahmen, bot sich mit der Fortsetzung eine tolle Möglichkeit, ihre Trainingsfortschritte unter Beweis zu stellen und weiter darauf aufzubauen.
Auf Wunsch der Teilnehmer soll es 2022 noch einen dritten Mantrailing Kurs geben. Nach Rücksprache mit den beiden Trainern freuen wir uns hierfür folgende Daten bekanntgeben zu dürfen:

50 Jahre REDOG: Zweitägiger Online-Kongress

Unsere langjährige Mitgliedsorganisation REDOG veranstaltet anlässlich ihres 50-Jahr-Jubiläums vom 10. bis 11. September einen Online-Kongress.
Fachleute aus der ganzen Welt referieren zu verschiedenen Trainingsansätzen in der Vermissten- und Verschüttetensuche, der Leichensuche und im Mantrailing. Stressbewältigung für Mensch und Tier, Gesundheit, Krisenmanagement, Zusammenarbeit mit Blaulichtorganisationen, die Arbeit mit Suchhunden unter hoher Belastung sowie die richtige Ernährung stehen ebenfalls auf dem Programm.
Alle Referate werden simultan auf Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch übersetzt.
Für IRO Mitglieder gibt es einen vergünstigten 2-Tages-Pass für CHF 50,00.

Rückblick:
IRO Wasserkurs
|
|
Am letzten Juniwochenende fand in Heinola, Finnland, ein IRO Wasserkurs für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene statt, der sowohl Vier- als auch Zweibeiner begeisterte. Geleitet wurde das Training von der erfahrenen IRO Trainerin Digna Schoonenboom aus den Niederlanden.
Insgesamt nahmen zehn Hundeführer mit ihren Fellnasen im Alter von 7 Monaten bis
6 Jahren teil. Sie alle erhielten wertvolle Inputs und ein individuell auf die Bedürfnisse des Hundes abgestimmtes Coaching. Jedes Team konnte mit den angebotenen Übungen gute Fortschritte im Training verbuchen.
Ein herzliches Dankeschön an die Teilnehmer, unsere Trainerin, ihre Assistentin vor Ort Satu Jore sowie an unsere Mitgliedsorganisation Finn Rescue K9 Association (FRF K9) für die grandiose Organisation.

Ida mit Labrador Retriever Hündin Ori
Keine Veranstaltung ist ihr zu groß, egal ob IRO Prüfungen, Einsatztest oder Weltmeisterschaft, gemeinsam mit ihrem Team von Redningshunden-Danmark (RDA) hat Ida bereits einige Events erfolgreich umgesetzt. Seit 2016 ist Ida ehrenamtliches Mitglied des IRO Vorstands und sie genießt die abwechslungsreiche Arbeit und die Möglichkeit, die Zukunftsentwicklung des weltweiten Dachverbands für die Rettungshundearbeit aktiv mitzugestalten. Um die IRO für die Zukunft zu rüsten, ist ihr besonders daran gelegen, junge Leute für die Arbeit mit Rettungshunden zu begeistern und entsprechend auszubilden.
Ihr Wissen an Rettungshundeteams weiterzugeben und sie dabei zu unterstützen, sich kontinuierlich zu verbessern, bereitet ihr große Freude. Das Besondere an der Arbeit mit Hunden ist für sie, dass jeder Hund anders ist und daher individuelle Trainingsansätze notwendig sind. Neben der Arbeit mit den Hunden, schätzt sie den Austausch mit erfahrenen Rettungshundeführern aus der ganzen Welt. Das gemeinsame Ziel, Menschen in Not zu helfen, verbindet und stärkt den Zusammenhalt.
Idas Lebensmotto lautet: Die höchste Form des Glücks ist ein Leben mit einem gewissen Grad an Verrücktheit.

Tierärzte für
IRO Veranstaltungen gesucht
|
|
Wir suchen zur Sicherstellung der kontinuierlichen tierärztlichen Präsenz bei diversen
IRO Veranstaltungen Unterstützung durch TierärztInnen. Geeignete Kandidaten sollten selbst Hundeführer, im Umgang mit Notfällen erfahren und idealerweise Mitglied einer
IRO Einsatzorganisation sein.
Unser ehrenamtliches Team aus IRO Tierärzten ist auch in der Weiterbildung von Rettungshundeführern engagiert. Eine Bereitschaft für gelegentliche Vortragstätigkeiten bei Ausbildungsveranstaltungen sollte demnach ebenfalls gegeben sein.

Only 60 days to go until the 26th IRO World Championship for Search and Rescue Dogs in mid-September in Craiova, Romania. The excitement is high and the preparations are in full swing. More than 40 search and rescue dog organisations from a total of 20 nations from three continents will take part this year.
Another event that you should mark in your calendar next to the IRO World Championship is the REDOG Online Congress, with numerous interesting lectures.

Hosting of the IRO World Championship 2023
We are very pleased to announce that the IRO WCH 2023 will take place in Stubenberg, Austria, hosted by the Rettungshunde Verband Österreich (RHVÖ).
From 20 to 24 September 2023, the best search and rescue dogs will be crowned.

We would like to remind you that according to the International Testing Standards for Search and Rescue Dogs (IPO-R), two IPO-R tests of level A are required for participation in a B-level test.
Please take this into account when registering for B-level tests.

IRO Mantrailing Course – sequel planned
|

The second mantrailing course jointly led by Frank Kania and Alois Russegger at the beginning of July in Bad Wörishofen, Germany, was again a great success.
The teams were motivated and enjoyed the valuable guidance provided by the two trainers. For those participants who had already taken part in the first course in Laakirchen, Austria, the continuation offered a great opportunity to demonstrate their training progress and build on it.
At the request of the participants, there will be a third mantrailing course in 2022. After consultation with the two trainers, we are pleased to announce the following details:

50 years of REDOG:
Two-day online congress

Our longtime member organisation REDOG is organising an online congress on the occasion of its 50th anniversary from 10 to 11 September.
Experts from all over the world will hold lectures on various training approaches in the search for missing and buried persons, cadaver search and mantrailing. Stress management for humans and animals, health, crisis management, cooperation with blue light organisations, working with search dogs under high stress and the right diet are also on the programme.
All presentations will be simultaneously translated into German, English and French.
IRO members can get a 2-day pass at a special price of CHF 50.00.

On the last weekend in June, an IRO Water Course for beginners and advanced was held in Heinola, Finland, which was enjoyed by both four-legged and two-legged participants. The training was led by the experienced IRO Trainer Digna Schoonenboom from the Netherlands.
A total of ten dog handlers and their canines, ranging in age from 7 months to 6 years, took part. They all received valuable input and coaching individually tailored to the dog's needs. Each team was able to make good progress in their training with the exercises offered.
A big thank you to the participants, our trainer, her assistant on site Satu Jore as well as to our member organisation Finn Rescue K9 Association (FRF K9) for the terrific organisation.

No event is too big for her, no matter if it is an IRO Testing Event, a Mission Readiness Test, or a World Championship, together with her team from Redningshunden-Danmark (RDA), Ida has successfully organised several events. Since 2016, Ida has been an honorary member of the IRO Board and she enjoys the varied work and the opportunity to actively shape the future development of the global umbrella organisation for search and rescue dog work. To prepare the IRO for the future, she feels it is particularly important to inspire young people for the work with search and rescue dogs and to train them accordingly.
Passing on her knowledge to search and rescue dog teams and helping them to continuously improve is a great passion of hers. The special aspect of working with dogs for her is that every dog is different and therefore individual training approaches are necessary. Besides the work with the dogs, she appreciates the exchange with other experienced search and rescue dog handlers from all over the world. The common goal of helping people in distress unites and encourages a sense of community.
Ida’s motto in life: The highest form of bliss is living with a certain degree of folly.

Call for vets for IRO Events
|
|
We are looking for veterinary support to ensure a continuous presence of veterinarians at various IRO Events. Suitable candidates should be dog handlers themselves, experienced in dealing with emergencies and ideally a member of an IRO emergency response organisation.
Our team of honorary IRO Veterinarians is also involved in the further education of search and rescue dog handlers. A willingness for occasional lectures at training events is therefore also required.
