Jeffery Heil has been an educator for over 25 years. He has served as a classroom and independent study teacher, instructional technology coach, adjunct professor of education, keynote speaker, Google in Education Trainer and Innovator, ViewSonic Certified Trainer, and Adobe Creative Educator Leader. During this time he has continued to be an advocate for all students, especially those traditionally underserved by the U.S. educational institution. In his most recent role as an independent study teacher at the Monarch School, a K-12 school that serves youth impacted by homelessness, he works very closely with his students to create learning experiences for them that allow them to see themselves in the curriculum while concurrently enhancing their ability to think critically, develop strong media literacy skills, and utilize technology to create amazing representations of their learning.

He firmly believes that relationships are the core of education and learning. In all of his work with educators, he strives to foster meaningful and authentic ways to incorporate technology into their curriculum to amplify student learning while not losing sight of the importance of seeing each student as a unique and important member of a classroom or school community. In 2005, he was selected as a Distinguished Teacher in Residence at California State University, San Marcos, where he worked for over ten years as an adjunct professor in the School of Education. As a frequent conference presenter, consultant, and keynote speaker, he is perpetually striving to transform education on a global scale. This work was recognized when The Classroom of the Future Foundation selected him as their 2015 Innovative Educator of the Year. Being an educator is not what Jeff does, it is who he is.
