Highly recommended

By Nick B on January 1, 2022

The moment I opening them in my daw I could tell that these Lexicon plug-ins had "that sound" I have been looking for. I have hardware reverb and effect units and these sound great right next to them. Many plug-ins I've tried have left me underwhelmed but not with these. I am very happy with my purchase.

Lexicon is always great

By Steve G from Kansas on October 27, 2020 Music Background: Lifetime musician, multi instrumentalist, composer, producer

If you're looking at buying lexicon reverb you looking at buying one of the best. This plug-in bundle is awesome and has everything you need to make all of your mixes come alive.
Lush and realistic reverbs complement this package for sure.
My only complaint on every plugin that requires an Ilok, is, that it requires an Ilok.
Ilok Should be optional.
Somebody like myself that goes nowhere but in his own studio doesn't need the hassle or the added expense of an Ilok.

My favorite reverb

By Susan Alcorn from Baltimore, MD on December 14, 2018 Music Background: Musician and composer

I am really happy with the this reverb. I've tried the Waves reverbs including the Abbey Road plates and the Valhalla reverbs, but to my ears the LXP beats them all - it has that Lexicon warmth and a certain depth (for lack of a better word) that just makes a recording come together. Also, my advice would be not to waste your money on the MPX reverb - the LXP is the one that has the magic.

Lexicon LXP Native Reverb

By ANEPONYMOUS from THE NUTMEG STATE on December 24, 2016

So... I have been searching for a great sounding plugin reverb for a while. I tried the TSAR, Valhalla, and a few others but haven't found the great sound and easy presets I was looking for. The Lexicon has it all and more. 4 different modules with more than enough presets to get you where you want to be, or at least close enough to tweak it to perfection. After my first couple of times using this I went back and re-did the reverb on several songs and in each case the Lexicon has made a great improvement. I find it easy to use the Lexicon to get the subtle effects that are harder (for me at least) to dial in with other reverbs. If you're a pro the Lexicon should deliver for you. If you are, like me, still working to get "your sound," this bundle will be a huge help.

My favourite verbs!

By Russell Featherstone on September 4, 2015 Music Background: Audio Engineer - 10 years

These just sounds nicer than my other verbs! Helps to glue mixes together.

I find low passing around 600Hz and high passing 10kHz after the verb helps it sit better (Abbey road trick). Sometimes some compression after the EQ helps too especially on vocals where you can side chain.

Reverb Perfection

By Rick Mendyka Sr from Wyoming on June 15, 2015 Music Background: Sound Engineer, Producer

The Lexicon LXP Native reverb bundle is nothing short of incredible! In fact, it's Reverb Perfection! One listen and you'll realize how those "perfect" recordings you hear got that way. Just plain stellar, pristine reverb in every category': Plate, Room, Hall, & Chamber!
If you are considering LXP,s little brother (MPX) don't waste your time... It doesn't even come close to this LXP package! This is the true, legendary Lexicon sound! That's why approximately 85% of all recorded content you hear every day was mixed down using Lexicon reverbs.

Love it!

By Sweetwater Customer on April 22, 2015

Great reverbs. Complex to figure out all the different settings. Mostly I just find a reverb I like and roll the reverb mix back. It has worked about every time. I haven't found a need to do a lot of tweaking yet. Very natural sounding. I really have to be careful to not overdo it.

Loving this Reverb

By Jay from San Diego, CA on December 27, 2014 Music Background: Production (music, short film)

I was a little skeptical about getting these plugins at first but knew that Lexicon had a great reputation when it came to FX. I opened up Logic and put the room reverb on an Aux track, as soon as I started sending signal to it I feel in Love with it. I hadn't even adjusted anything on the plugin and I was pretty happy with the sound. It has a rich, thick, and natural sound to it. Nothing like the other plugins I have that came with the Gold bundle. I have already recommended these to everyone I know that wants a decent reverb plugin. Get some!

Great reverb bundle

Simply love it. Highly recommended for audio production of any type.

Excellent Lofi Reverb

By Sweetwater Customer on October 9, 2014

I have this, the PCM, Altiverb, Waves IR, UAD stuff, and a host of others. LIke anything else, it's kind've what you're after. What I like about this set, is that it's not "pristine". It sounds very similar to my hardware LXP, meaning .. it's thick and oozes Lexicon vibe. It's not necessarily clear or pristine, as I said, but it definitely has it's uses. I use it more for texture and atmosphere, it's own instrument really, rather than discrete purposes. different stuff for different people.

Excellent

By Sweetwater Customer on February 18, 2014

As I don't own a hardware PCM70 or whatever, I don't have a lot to compare this to other than other reverb plug-ins that come with various DAWs, and a couple of the Waves reverbs (IR-L, Renn. Reverb, etc.) but it's the most usable and best sounding reverb I've used yet. Sounds every bit as good as the reverb that they (Lexicon) put in their $400 rack units like the MPX550 (used to have one.) Nice, very easy-to-use but powerful user interface as well. Not sure what exactly might be better about their $600 bundle, this $200 version sounds pretty much as good as it gets to me...anyway I'm happy!

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH M1 Mac's YET!

By Jimmy Sanchez from NYC on May 10, 2023 Music Background: Production/Recording Artist

I bought this amazing bundle for some projects I'm currently working on, but it only works with ROSETTA, I don't think they are available with M1 Mac's yet!! pretty unfortunate, but the sound it's amazing , LEXICON Sound.

Straight up verb

By CLP from Chicago on July 13, 2016 Music Background: Sound Designer, Composer

I bought this bundle because I needed some trusted, good, standard verb engines. They are exactly that. Each instance represents the reverb type: Hall, Plate, ect. I don't mind this, but why not consolidate to one instance with different presets? The interface is not complicated, sporting six basic parameters upfront but can expand for extra fine tuning. The plates are what I use most frequently and sound better to me than most anything in the same price range.

One thing I would like to see is Lexicon allow storing the iLok license on your machine as MANY other third party companies are allowing for. This bundle, unfortunately, requires the dongle to be connected. This should be a thing of the past by now (cough, pro tools).

Really nice-lexicon sound is there!

By Frank from Ny on June 30, 2015 Music Background: Songwriter

Haven't fully navigated te eares ad the interface yet but at a few initial passes, this plug in has the sound that comes out of those lexicon boxes- smooth, rich and USEFUL! Digital Perormrer ha a few good verbs, but this plug in gives you more options to work with.....in the process of a final mix on a project right now, and I've already found myself reaching for this a number o times......great on vocals a drums especially!

My impression of LXP Native Reverb Plug-in Bundle.

By Alex from 070EAB0= on July 28, 2014 Music Background: Arranger and composer.

Creative plugin. Gives surround sound. It perfectly fills the space. This is what I need. I am convinced that these results difficult to achieve without LXP Native Reverb Plug-in Bundle. The disadvantages are the characteristic staining space. This painting is not always in demand and sometimes serves as an obstacle to the construction of the sound image. But this is offset by the fact that this plugin provides a lot of options to change the settings and different opportunities for experimentation.

No longer compatible with Mac OS X Mojave and Catalina since January, 2020

By Timm from Colorado, USA on June 4, 2020

[Feel free to replace my previous review of the LXP plugins. Lexicon has updated at least their web site so I think I can simplify my review but I've kept the overall rating the same.]

This review is specific to LXP plugins version 1.2.2 (current as of June, 2020) running on Mac OS X.

This Lexicon software worked well with Mac OS X Mojave until January, 2020... until digital signing issues prevented the loading of the plugin or re-installation of the plugin apparently due to a revoked or expired code signing certificate. Lexicon has updated their website to state that these LXP plugins are no longer compatible with Mojave and Catalina; however, it was previously compatible with at least Mojave through 2019. This means that existing mixes that had the LXP plugins will no longer load (with the LXP reverbs) on Macs running current system software.

When the software worked, the plugins were good quality and had a fairly intuitive but very flexible interface but since the plugins will no longer load, it's impossible to compare to modern technology and current reverb offerings from other vendors.

The software probably runs fine on the listed Microsoft Windows platforms but read the specs and system requirements carefully.

Lexicon LXP plugins no longer load in DAWs (or installs) on Mac OS X in 2020

By Tim from Colorado, USA on May 22, 2020

I am a Sweetwater customer since 1992 but I bought the LXP plugins directly from Lexicon (Harman).
This review is not a ding against Sweetwater, but as a Sweetwater customer, still seeing the Lexicon
LXP product being sold on Sweetwater, I thought I'd throw out a caution since often downloadable
software purchases are non-refundable.

The issue: The Lexicon LXP plugins will not function on many modern Mac OS X systems; they won't even
install after early 2020. It appears (on Mac OS X) that LXP might be past end-of-life.
The plugins will also no longer install on many (most?) modern Mac OS X systems.
This issue has been acknowledged by Harman/Lexicon and they have been "working on a fix" for 4 months now.
It might be that their development has suffered due to COVID-19 global constraints but they haven't
communicated anything other than that they knew about the issue at least in January, 2020 and that
the issue continues to be a high priority for them. But still no fix.

When these LXP plugins did work (through 2019), they were rather good quality and didn't seem overly taxing on CPU.

The result: I've had to go back to the drawing board on all of my in-progress mix sessions because
I can no longer even load the original tracks with LXP plugins to compare reverbs to find a replacement.
So I can't even load a reference of how these mixes were before LXP plugins stopped working.

The review: I'm giving this review 2 stars rather than less than that because if Lexicon ever fixes
their code certificate issues, I would still consider using the plugins and would encourage others
to consider them too, provided that the problems are permanently resolved. The reverb quality still
is of good quality in certain applications and the capabilities/parameters are still pretty good.
But these LXP plugins have been broken for nearly 4 months now, as acknowledged by their Support staff). Additionally there are other good modern plugins
(e.g. offerings from Eventide, iZotope, etc. etc. etc., even SSL) will do the job.

From what I can tell this wasn't really a Mac issue so much as it was that Mac started
enforcing legit code signing certificates for installation and for plugins.
Also, if you try to install on a new system, the plugins won't even install now, although they will
happily uninstall (using the un-installer provided from Lexicon) if you already have them installed.
The installer fails for the same reason that the plugins won't load: the plugin code is signed
with a certificate that Mac OS X no longer accepts; likely it expired or was revoked.

To be clear, I do not know exactly what the underlying issue is; perhaps expired certificates or
perhaps some relationship with iLok fell apart or expired-
but whatever the case, the plugins are dead in the water. I've tried both with physical iLok
and software iLok on all of my Macs: always a rejected certificate. I do know that when I
interact with the Mac package tools that I can see the rejected certificate messages.
But the issue cropped up nearly 10 years since Lexicon first released the LXP plugins (in March of 2010)...
so it might make sense if this were some certificate or relationship issue with iLok.

Harman / LexiconPro's web site still advertises LXP plugins as supported on Mac OS X Mojave -
but that claim is no longer true. I suspect that the plugins also no longer work on Catalina
but I haven't upgraded, thinking that I'd be protected from exactly these sorts of issues.
On my system, the Harman / Lexicon LXP plugins have code-signing certificates that appear
to have been signed with an old iLok issued-certificate. Those certs are now dead.

So if you have a Mac running Mojave, I would not spend money with the Lexicon plugins; there
are good modern-day alternatives to these circa 2010 LXP plugins (if you could even use them).
Your mileage may vary as the plugins might still work on Windows systems or maybe even on
certain varieties of Macs; however, Lexicon's Support staff acknowledge that this is both a
known and a major issue - at least on Macs.

BTW I contacted Harman / Lexicon in March, 2020 and their support team was both prompt and courteous
in their response but acknowledged that they were aware of the issue and said that the issue was their #1 priority. I tried following up on the Support thread with them but never received a reply.
In April, 2020 I again contacted Harman / Lexicon with a new Support ticket and again they were
prompt but firm in the reply that they had no further information for me other than that
they expected a fix to be issued fairly "soon." That was several weeks ago. I check every day
to see if they have a patch or new release available: crickets.

I'm also a little nervous that when a "fix" is released that it'll be in the form of an upgrade that
we'll need to purchase. I'm hopeful that won't be the case.
