About the Event:
We seek to cultivate conversation about disparities in healthcare between individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences with our event titled Health Equity 101: An Intro to Health Disparities Through Art and Conversation on Wednesday, May 22nd 2-5pm at Kerckhoff Grand Salon.
From 2-4pm, students may stop by to decorate mugs, view our Art Gallery, and for refreshments.
Our panelists event will be from 4-5pm. We will begin with a short 30-minute panel with esteemed panelists discussing the importance of recognizing disparities, your research/knowledge surrounding underserved populations in healthcare, and barriers to education and resources that impact healthcare. After the panel, we will split into smaller groups of students who will be free to ask panelists whatever questions they like. At this time, there is an opportunity for all attendees to decorate mugs and express ideas learned from the prior half of the event. Cookies and refreshments will be provided!
This event is hosted by the Life Sciences Student Association (LSSA), a new organization, supported by the Life Sciences Core, that aims to provide Life Sciences students with resources, opportunities, and a voice in their education.
