Dancing with the Martin Stars raises more than $167,000

The sixth annual 2016 Dancing with The Martin Stars raised more than $167,000 for the Martin County Healthy Start Coalition.

MARTIN COUNTY — Libby Flippo, vice president and chief of nursing officer at Martin Health System, was the overall winner of the mirror ball trophy for performance and fundraising Saturday in the sixth annual Dancing with the Martin Stars.

The event raised more than $167,000 for Martin County Healthy Start Coalition, breaking the previous record. Flippo and her partner, Bob Murray, of Blana Dance - Neuvo Milanga, raised more than $40,000 and had a score of 28. Runner-up for highest fundraiser was Julia Sansevere, Realtor for Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, and Eliott Acosta of The Treasure Coast Hustle Association, raised $37,838.

There was a three-way tie for best performance: Shaun Kelly, owner of Perfectly Legal Office Solutions LLC;  Helen Martin, president of Stretch Zone Treasure Coast; and Jeff Teach, president of Teach Wealth Management Inc. all had perfect scores of 30.

The event is Healthy Start’s signature fundraiser. The first five Dancing with the Martin Stars raised more than $450,000 for the coalition. The money helped cover various medical costs for pregnant women throughout Martin County. Healthy Start’s mission is to ensure that every baby in Martin County is born healthy.
