New Year – Lots of Opportunities!

Just like New Year’s fireworks, KY INBRE is also starting 2023 off with a BANG! We have lots of opportunities available – many happening or with deadlines this month! See information on our Workshops, Seminars and Summer Research Program in next section below. You won’t want to miss out on these!

We also excited to announce a new addition to KY INBRE – David Alston! David is currently working as a Research Engineer assisting several scientists associated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He has a background in both biomedical and electrical engineering with experience in image/movie analysis, visual stimulus presentation, data processing automation, and machine learning.

David is now available via email or Zoom to help KY INBRE’s scientists manage and analyze their current or future data (especially any image data). Ideally, he would be involved before any data is collected to help define data organization, standardize data collection, and lay the framework for data analysis. Additionally, he can provide advice as to new ways existing data might be analyzed to provide new insights. Feel free to reach out to him at either his Gmail or his UofL email addresses.

Virtual Seminar Series
Next Week – Jan 11, 4 pm

The next KY INBRE Virtual Seminar Series will be presented by one of our cores – the Genomics Training and Education Center.

GTEC is a part of the UofL Genomics Technology Center focused on providing education and training in wet-lab techniques and Genomics data interpretation tools.

Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to reach out to the Core with questions regarding RNA/DNA QC, NGS experimental design, and data interpretation, irrespective of the actual experiments being performed on-site or with an external institution.
