The checklist serves as a strategic tool, empowering student athletes, parents, coaches, and businesses to identify and capitalize on lucrative partnerships while safeguarding their brand and reputation.
Dr. Jamira Annette Mitchell, dubbed with the name Dr. JAM, serves as a high school Career and Technical Education instructor. She earned her Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Sports Business Management. Dr. JAM is not a rookie to the sports industry; she has been an enthusiast since she could hold her head up. By watching her dad, a local sports editor, Dr. JAM learned how to record stats and take action shots for football, basketball, and baseball since she was old enough to run. This influenced Dr. JAM to study her love for sports in the sports business mecca, New York. She attended and obtained her degree from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY, which allowed her to connect with many sports business industry leaders and athletes.
Dr. JAM's knowledge of sports allowed her to excel as an educator. Through observation, Dr. JAM noticed a concerning perspective between student-athletes and their lack of personal branding; she knew that your name is your brand as a student-athlete. Upon the incorporation of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) in both high school and collegiate athletes, she decided to include gems for her student-athletes to excel. With her gems planted, her students sought more knowledge for proper branding. Those gems paved the road for the diamond; The NIL Spot Podcast, which allows Dr. JAM to ignite her passion for sports with education. Her goal is to increase the influence of athletes by building a solid personal brand.
