OAKRIDGE OSSLT PREP
FALL 2022 & SPRING 2023
In November 2022, all grade 11, 12, and 13 students across Ontario who were previously eligible but have not yet completed it OR were unsuccessful in their first attempt will complete the Ontario Secondary School Literary Test (OSSLT).
This test will also be written by all grade 10 students in March & April 2023.
This is the second year where the test is completed entirely online - in order to pass, you must earn at least 300 points (or 75%) on the test.
WHERE IS IT COMPLETED?
Students from Oakridge S.S. will write their test at Oakridge S.S. on the day of the test - there is no need to travel elsewhere to write it. The test cannot be completed at home, as it must be proctored.
Note: A complete list of room allocations for the test will be posted outside of the main office on test day(s).
WHEN IS IT COMPLETED?
In Semester 1, the test is to be completed on November 28th & 29th, 2022 - again, this is ONLY for any grade 11, 12, or 13 students who were previously eligible but have not yet completed it OR were unsuccessful in their first attempt.
If you do not show up to school on the above test day(s), then you will have to wait to complete it in Spring 2023 (exact test dates still TBD).
In Semester 2, ALL grade 10 students will wait to write the test on March 7th & 8th, 2022.
WHO IS TO COMPLETE IT?
The test will be completed by all grade 10 students in Ontario and any students who were previously eligible but have not yet completed it or were unsuccessful in their first attempt.
November 28th & 29th, 2022 - Grade 11, 12, or 13 students who were previously eligible but have not yet completed it OR were unsuccessful in their first attempt.
March 7th & 8th, 2022 - Grade 10 students
WHY DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE IT?
You must complete and successfully pass the OSSLT in order to earn your Ontario Secondary School Diploma. There is support for those students who are unsuccessful in their first attempt, including an opportunity to retake the test a second time or take the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC).
