Writable knows that many parents are looking for virtual writing experiences for students that are both engaging and authentic, as well as easy to manage during this time. With Project Write Together, your students will write – then anonymously peer review and revise - with students from similar grade levels across the nation.

Team Writable will follow along as the teacher in your student's group, helping to give feedback to your student throughout the process.

Writing Prompts *

These are the initial prompt choices you will have for Project Write Together. Based on demand we will consider adding more. The prompts will be worded appropriately for each grade level. We will send you the Join Code for access to the program soon.

Narrative: Many schools are temporarily closing. Think about what it will be like to attend school from home. Write an imaginary Journal Entry describing a day of attending school from home. Tell what happens and describe your thoughts and feelings. Write in a first-person voice and add details and descriptions to make your Journal Entry interesting.

Argument/Persuasive: In this election year, politicians talk about a lot of things they want to change. Imagine that you are a presidential candidate. Write a Persuasive Speech about the issue you think is most important. Clearly state your position and come up with reasons and evidence to convince your readers to agree with your position.

Informational: Choose a food that you know how to cook. Write a How-To Essay telling readers how to cook this food. Begin by describing what dish you're going to cook. Mention how much time your dish will take to cook and note any special ingredients or equipment needed.

Participation & Terms of Service Agreement *

I understand that my child will be writing and peer reviewing writing submissions from students outside their class or school community. Writing from one student is sent anonymously to another student in Writable, but teachers (in this case, Writable educators) can see student writing and identities.
