Originally a tap dance routine, the Lindy Hop community has been carrying on the well-known version popularized by Frankie Manning.

Over the years, people have created their own versions of the Shim Sham. Al Minns and Leon James are two influential African American dancers from the Savoy Ballroom whose version is featured in The Spirit Moves. Learn this exciting routine which covers a broad spectrum of authentic solo jazz moves to add to your repertoire.
