Rosie Jimenez rally for reproductive justice

Donation protected
Rosie Jimenez was a 27-year-old student months away from graduation, devoted to her young daughter and excited for a bright future for both of them, when she died from complications from an unsafe abortion on October 3rd, 1977, in McAllen, Texas. She was the first person known to die of an illegal abortion after the Hyde Amendment passed, ending federal funding for abortion and cutting off millions of low-income people from safe access to reproductive healthcare. The Hyde Amendment is still in effect--as well as a host of terrifying state-level restrictions, from Missouri to Kentucky. We fought like hell to get Roe, and we’re going to have to fight like hell to keep it, and to expand meaningful and safe access to the right to bodily autonomy.

Join us in Westlake Park in Downtown Seattle from 5-7pm on Thursday, October 3rd, to rally in remembrance of Rosie Jimenez and to call for the repeal of the Hyde Amendment, Medicare for All, free childcare, and fully accessible reproductive healthcare for all.

To build this and more, we need each and every one of you. PLEASE DONATE to help us print flyers, make banners, and rent equipment. Give whatever you can to help us meet our $700 goal. Money raised beyond what's needed for the rally will be donated to Northwest Abortion Access Fund (NWAAF).

Get involved with organizing the rally by attending weekly meetings every Tuesday at 7pm at New Freeway Hall, 5018 Rainier Ave. S., Seattle. Click here for more information.

And come rally for real choice with us at Westlake Park, 401 Pine St, Seattle,  October 3rd, 5-7 PM!
